Background: This study aimed to identify the impacts of job stress and cognitive failure on patient safety incidents among hospital nurses in Korea. Methods: The study included 279 nurses who worked for at least 6 months in five general hospitals in Korea. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires designed to measure job stress, cognitive failure, and patient safety incidents. Results: This study showed that 27.9% of the participants had experienced patient safety incidents in the past 6 months. Factors affecting incidents were found to be shift work [odds ratio (OR) = 6.85], cognitive failure (OR = 2.92), lacking job autonomy (OR = 0.97), and job instability (OR = 1.02). Conclusion: Patient safety incidents were affected by shift work, cognitive failure, and job stress. Many countermeasures to reduce the incidents caused by shift work, and plans to reduce job stress to reduce the workers' cognitive failure are required. In addition, there is a necessity to reduce job instability and clearly define the scope and authority for duties that are directly related to the patient's safety.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the present workfamily balance policy and suggest a vision for moving forward. First, this study identified the scope of the workfamily balance policy and assessed the importance of this policy in relation to other family-related policies. Second, we evaluated the workfamily balance policy from the perspective of family resource management. Third, we suggested orientations and strategies for better policymaking from this same viewpoint.

A Project planning is one of the most important processes that determines success and failure of a project. Scope management for a project planning is also essential job in system integration project. However project planning is very difficult because lots of factors and their relationships should be considered. Therefore project planning of system integration project has been done by project manager's own knowledge and experience. It is necessary to develop an algorithm of WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) identification & document selection along to project's specificity in project management system using AI technique. This study presents a methodology to cope with the limitations of the existing studies that have uniformly been customizing the methodology by only project complexity. We propose PPSM(Project planning support module) based on determination rules regarding route maps and document levels, and CBR(Case-Based Reasoning) for WBS identification.

Purpose: Most if buildings need various repair works for preventing or delaying the deterioration which gives rise to affect the living condition or function after constructed. Therefore, a long-term repair schedule should be planned and a repair cost is required. In this paper, it aimed at providing the statistical forecast model for a repair cost in roof water-proofing work and elevator work using statistical approach with three variables such as number of household, management area and a elapsed year. Data are collected in apartment housings which are located in Seoul area and conducted with interview and questionnaire sheet. Each analyzed work is divided into a partly work and fully work. Results of this study are shown that, first, the regression model takes a multiplying type like a Cobb-Douglas function and is changed into the log-linear type to include the three variable simultaneously. Second, the goodness-of-fit of the repair cost forecasting model has a good statistics in determinant's coefficient and Dubin-Watson value. Third, the management area is stronger factor than other the number of household and an elapsed year in roof water-proofing work and elevator work.

There is no qualification system for sonographers in Korea. But the MEDICAL SERVICE TECHNOLOGISTS, ETC. ACT stipulates that radiological technologists can handle ultrasound equipment. However, there is controversy about the scope of the work allowed for radiological technologists to perform ultrasound examinations. Accordingly, the authoritative interpretation of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Korea, the adjudication of administrative judgment, and the judgment of the courts were analyzed. As a result, the authoritative interpretation expresses that when a radiological technologist performs an ultrasound examination, a diagnosis and specific guidance should be made in real time while the doctor simultaneously watches the radiological technologist's images. In the adjudication of administrative judgment, it was decided that the handling of ultrasound-related equipment was the work of the radiological technologist. The court ruled that it was illegal for a radiological technologist to make a medical judgment on ultrasound examination. In the United States, Canada, etc., the sonographer independently conducts ultrasound examination according to the doctor's prescription, prepares a summary of what they saw and this is passed on to the doctor. Therefore, in Korea, there is a need for institutional improvement so that radiological technologists can perform ultrasound examinations according to doctors' prescriptions without real-time guidance.

The Ship Safety Act prescribes matters necessary for the maintenance of seaworthiness and safe navigation of ships. In this regard, Article 10 of this Act requires shipowner to undergo occasional survey if he/she wants to temporarily change intends to modify the details entered in a ship survey certificate. Such measures are in accordance with the maintenance of the state of the ship after the ship inspection under Article 15 of this Act, and this Act includes "harbor construction work ship" under Article 39 Paragraph (1) of the Harbor Act. However, although the harbor construction work ship originally showed the same operating system as the barge, it was not applied to the Ship Safety Act and was registered and surveyed under the Construction Machinery Management Act. Then "Seokjeong No. 36" sinking accident in Ulsan on December 14, 2012, led to the amendment of the Harbor Act in 2016, and considering the fact that it was added to the Ship Safety Act and applied, there is a realistic limit to applying all the regulations stipulated in the Ship Safety Act to the harbor construction work ship. Accordingly, this study discusses the work characteristics through concept, registration, work area, survey regulations, application case of temporary alteration etc. of harbor construction work ships and controversial issues related to the scope of application of the Ship Safety Act of actual harbor construction work ships, and also the appropriate scope of "temporary alteration" among temporary inspections prescribed in Article 10 of the Ship Safety Act in consideration of the legislative purpose of incorporating harbor construction work ships into the survey subject to the Ship Safety Act in accordance with the revision of the Harbor Act.

In 1992, the quality control program was introduced in Republic of Korea to improve the reliability of the work environment monitoring, which was introduced in the 1980s. The commission entrusted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute has conducted the program for industrial hygiene laboratories including designated monitoring institutions and spontaneously participating agencies. The number of institutions that participated in the program has increased from 30 to 161. The initial conformance ratio in the participants was 43% (organic solvents) and 52% (metals). Thereafter, the conformance ratio increased rapidly and it has remained in a stable state at more than 89% since 1996. As subject materials, 13 kinds of organic solvents and 7 kinds of metals were used. To improve the capability of measurement and analysis of private institutions, educational courses were conducted annually. An assessment at the actual sites of participants was additionally introduced into the program in 2013. Thus, the program turned into a system that administrates the overall process of participants. For the future, the scope of target materials will be extended through additional items. Thus, the reliability of the results of the work environment monitoring is expected to increase accordingly.

The purpose of this study is to develop design quality indicator for improvement of public architecture in Korea. The spatial scope of the study which sees limited at 'domestic public buildings'. The study contents scope is to develop design quality indicator to use design phase and evaluation of 'public buildings'. For this design quality indicator, we have analysed various domestic and international institutions associated with architecture design. And, design indicator for the possibility of application in public buildings were extracted. Through this work design quality indicator specific and objective was drawn. The results of this study 8 category were drawn 'Public', 'Harmony', 'Impact', 'Access', 'Landscape', 'Use', 'Sustainable', 'Technology'. Also, 29 Design quality Indicator were suggested. Finally, this study was developed by utilizing Design Quality Indicator can be utilized in the design phase, the evaluation process should be developed.

In this work, risks in EPC project for overseas power plant projects are analyzed and risk management methods are suggested to reduce cost and to shorten time. 79% of risks occurred in the engineering phase for S project located in South-East Asia. The impact scales of risks on major project objectives which are cost, time, scope, and quality are analyzed as 3.5, 3.8, 2.7, and 3.7, respectively. The level of impact scales is very similar to each other except the impact scale of scope. The risk management methods suggested in this study have to be applied at the appropriate time to manage risks effectively. After that, risks are managed continuously by monitoring.

Hospice palliative care refers to holistic care provided by an interdisciplinary team aimed at improving the quality of life of patients suffering from life-threatening diseases and their families. Among interdisciplinary team members, hospice advanced practice nurses (APNs) trained as master's-level advanced nursing professionals are leaders who play an important role in providing patient-centered care and improving the quality of services. The Medical Service Act revised in 2018 requires the scope of practice of APNs in each field to be specified in the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Accordingly, discussions on the role and scope of practice of hospice APNs are actively underway. In this review, the curriculum of hospice APNs, their work responsibilities and roles, and their current status are reviewed, and the future direction of the hospice APN system is also discussed.
