An Investigation of the Impacts of Employer's Rewards Strategies on Employee's Commitment with Comparison of Home-based Contact Center (종업원에 대한 보상전략이 몰입에 미치는 영향: 재택근무와의 비교를 중심으로)

  • Information technology enables home-based working which is a new way to satisfy the firm and its employees. Firms are under pressure of cost reduction, and employees want to maintain balance of life between work and family. Considering the organization's capability can be the core competency, firm's efforts to acquire workers' commitment have been important issue in human resource management. However, researches to increase the workers' loyalty and commitment within home-base working have not been widely studied. This study tries to identify the relationships among firms' rewards supporting strategies and workers' perceived commitment with the working system as a context. Results confirm that the organization's extrinsic and intrinsic rewards affect the worker's continuous commitment, and the mediating role of normative commitment between workers' perceived affective commitment and continuous commitment has been found. Also, we empirically identify the moderating role of working systems(i.e., home-based, vs. office-based) within organization's rewards supporting strategies and workers' commitment perceptions.

  • In the present work, the vermicomposting index was investigated using leakage water from sludge to develop the process of mechanization and automation in the earthworm-cast treatment. The in situ sewage sludge was used batch and continuous experiments. Due to different treatment processes, the physico-chemical characteristics of liquid extracted from sludge was the similar change pattern. However, some items, such as Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC) and $NH_3-N$, showed the distinct changes between pre- and post-vermicomposting. Also, The ORP and EC were the best parameters for the vermicomposting index. These results offered that the present vermicomposting technology was an actual earthworm-cast treatment.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Social Support on Turnover Intention of Hotel Workers (호텔 종사자의 감정노동과 사회적 지지가 이직 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study identified the influence of hotel workers' emotional labor and social support on their intentions to change jobs. Methods: Study participants were 437 workers from seven hotels in Korea who consented to the survey. Among them, insufficient responses from 21 participants were excluded, as well as 107 responses from workers with workloads of under one hour of face to face work. Thus, 309 hotel workers were included in the final analysis. A multivariate regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing the hotel workers' intention to change jobs. Results: The intention to change jobs was high when external behavior was shown, and workers who received social support from a superior exhibited low intention of changing jobs. Conclusion: The study results show that the most influential variables of turnover intention are external behavior and the support of a superior. It is therefore important to educate managers on personnel management methods for reducing external behaviors so that the rate of job changes by hotel workers can be reduced. It is also necessary to prepare and manage measures for strengthening the support system by workplace superiors.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to develop a standard for drawing up DTD files and making them about information of students easily. By projecting DTD and embodying a file generator which can generate XML files about information of students, we can have good effects as follows. We can share information about the management of students to correspond to big changes of circumstance in education of school caused by the advent of computers and webs. Teachers can lesson their work and have a chance to devote themselves to teaching. DTD for making XML files about information of students was designed on the basis of the spirit of the 7th school curriculum. We can give and receive same kinds of information about students from school to school.

  • This paper is to assess the influence of business field and qualification acquisition on job-getting and working business by conducting survey against the qualification holders of the national technology in the area of ICT industry. The result shows that respondents working in the ICT industry are 58.7% of samples. Their working business are shown as manufacturing area of broadcasting & telecommunication, telecommunication service, science/technology service, and media service. As for the value of qualification, the current working business area of respondents is more influential factor than the types of qualification. Workers of media service industry recognize the qualifications more useful in job-getting and job performance.

  • This study has begun with the perception that proper measuring system is required to grow community business in equilibrium and to grope for some developmental directions of it. First, for effective performance evaluation of community business, the study developed a performance evaluation model based on balanced score cards, and to apply validity analysis and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) by classifying. Second, the relative importance of the second indicator for each of the first aspects shows that participation of local residents and in the aspect of person interested, satisfaction of inner education in the aspect of learning and growth, shortening of work process in the aspect of inner process, and sales per head in the aspect of substantiality were high in relative importance. Third, in the result of calculation of overall weight for each aspect, participation of local residents, a business connection to the community, sales per head were ranked in the upper group. Thus, it's now necessary to have management support through fostering intermediate support organizations in community business which has been bureaucratic, and improvement of product and service through connection with outside consulting agencies and strategic alliance with the leading businesses is required.

Issues of IPR Database Construction through Interdisciplinary Research (학제간 연구를 통한 IPR 데이터베이스 구축의 쟁점)

  • Humanities and social sciences researchers and database experts have teamed up to build a database of IPR materials prepared by the Institute of Pacific Relations (IPR). This paper presents the issues and solutions inherent in the database construction for ensuring the quality of IPR materials. For the accessibility of the database, we maintain the database on the Web so that researchers can access it via web browsers; for the convenience of the database construction, we provide an integrated interface that allows researchers to perform all tasks in it; for the completeness of IPR materials constructed, we support the responsible input and the responsible approval that identify responsibilities of each IPR material entered; and for the immediacy of the approval, we support an interactive approval process facilitating the input of researchers. We also use database design, query processing, transaction management, and search and sorting techniques to ensure the correctness of IPR materials entered. In particular, through concurrency control using existence dependency relationships between records, we ensure the correctness between the operating system files and their paths. Our future studies include content search, database download and upload, and copyright related work on IPR materials.

Update Method based on Dynamic Access-Frequency Tree in Grid Database System (그리드 데이터베이스 환경에서 동적 접근 빈도를 이용한 갱신 기법)

  • The replicas in the Grid database is utilized for a lot of application services. And for deferent services or for deferent information depends on location, the access frequency of each replica is dissimilar. When one replica is stored in many nodes, each replicas applies the week-consistency in the grid computing environment. Especially, when a node work load or operation capacity is varied from others, the replica management would cost expansive. Therefore, this paper proposed the Update Method based on Dynamic Access-Frequency Tree. The dynamic access-frequency tree is pre-constructed by grouping nodes based on each nodes access frequency to manage the replica efficiently and avoid unbalance replica tree. The performance evaluation shows the proposed methods support more quick update than current methods.

Incident shock and Related Factors in Rescue Workers (구조대원의 사건충격 정도와 관련 요인 분석)

  • This study was designed to identify the extent of incident shock who are in high risk of post traumatic shock stress, and analyze the related factors that affect the extent of incident shock. The subjects are 415 rescue workers from Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters, who are in high frequency of fire outbreaks and rescue mobilization. With a reliability of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.975, the results show invasion, avoidance, sleep disorder and emotional paralysis, dissociative symptom, hyper arousal as foremost causes respectively. Moreover, the results imply that the extent of incident shock was higher in people with more age or being married. Also, from the occupational perspective, the number of years as fire fighters, as rescue workers, mobilization and experiences at work in proportion to incident shocks has risen exponentially. It is notable that the groups who alleviate stress by consuming liquors had higher extent of incident shock. In conclusion, to deal with groups in high risk, management system and prevention care programs for incident shocks need to be introduced immediately and put into effect.

  • This study examines policy issues for the future development of libraries belonging to the metropolitan office of education focusing on facilities (legal basis for installation), management (dedicated department), human resources and budget. This study collected and analyzed related data using National Law Information Center and National Library Statistics System. As a result of this study, the names of the libraries performing library functions varied due to the difference of the administrative organizations of the libraries in the metropolitan education office. In addition, library policy work carried out by the library department may be excluded from policy priorities as a subsidiary task. It is analyzed that the expansion of quota of the librarian deputy director to provide the opportunity for promotion of librarians and the increase of the library input budget against the total budget are necessary.
