This study compares the consumption values and clothing benefits between married and unmarried women. The data were collected from a questionnaire with 548 working women in their 20's and 30's. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, and one way ANOVA. The factor analysis on consumption values resulted in five dimensional structures: pro-environmental, conspicuous, enjoyable, aesthetic, and economic values. Five dimensions of clothing benefits were identified by factor analysis: individuality, social recognition, well-known brands, practicality, and low price pursuit. The respondents were classified into four groups by marital status and age, as well as two groups only by marital status. There were significant differences among the groups in demographic characteristics, consumption values, and clothing benefits. The results provide insight into marketing strategies of apparel makers or retailers targeting single women.
The purposes of this study were to find the general trends of marriage-ideology reflected on the view of marriage of unmarried men and women, to estimate the differences according to related variables and to investigate relation of variables and marriage-ideology. The samples were selected from the unmarried 164 men and 235 women living in Kwang-ju. The major findings were as follows; 1. Unmarried men and women didn't reveal high level of marriage-ideology but men's marriage-ideology scores were higher than women. The overall tendencies were that women's achievement of vicarious status was more imporant than that of personal status, marriage was the male-leading union and men's conditions of mate-selection must be superior than woman. Unmarried men and women usually did not accept equality between sex and they have strong gender-stereotype. In the view of sexuality, premarital viriginity and extramarital intercourse were more rigid with woman and they took a serious view of man-centered kinship. 2. Marriage-ideology were significantly different according to mother's age, necessity of marriage, motive of marriage, marriage taboo according to family origin, the eldest son's parent care-giving, a notion of preferring a son. 3. Men and women's marriage-ideology was positively related to variables. Especially, women's marriage-ideology had high relation to motive of marriage and a notion of preferring a son. But women's marriage-ideology was negatively related to educational level. (Korean J Human Ecology 1(1) : 27∼43, 1998)

The data was analized using the SPSS program The results were as follows : 1. The mean score and standard deviation of depression was $13.97{\pm}8.49$ with the range scoring from 0 to 52. The mean score and standard deviation of the husband's support was $17.83{\pm}8.63$ with the range scoring the from 0 to 36. 2. The variables influencing depression were the woman's education level, the husband's education level, home income, marrital satisfaction, menstruation status, and sex related problems. The variables influencing husband's support were the woman's age, the husband's age, the women's education level, the husband's education level, the husband's religion, the husband's job, the home income, marrital period, marrital satisfaction, menstruation status, and sex related problems. 3. There was a moderative negative correlation between anxiety and the husband's support. In conclusion, community health nurses must plan and implement programs improving the husband's support in order to decrease depression in married women.
Purpose: The objective of this study is to identify factors associated with perceived health status of married immigrant women. Methods: Data were collected from 65 married immigrant women. The measurements were Symptom checklist-48, Acculturative Stress Scale, Parenting Stress Index(PSI), and Personal Resource Questionnaire(PQR). Descriptive, T-test, ANOVA test, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were used. Results: There were significant differences in perceived health status according to satisfaction with the married life(F=8.819, p=0.000), and help from husband(F=6.308, p=.003). There was also a significant relationship between perceived health status and perceived economic status (F=8.006, p=.001), acculturative stress (r=.560, p<.01), parenting stress (r=.662, p<.01) and social support (r=-.289, p<.05). The result of multiple regression analysis showed a significant association of parenting stress with perceived health status of married immigrant women (${\beta}=0.397$, p=0.037). Conclusion: Comprehensive interventions designed to enhance the health of married immigrant women, including prevention of acculturative stress, parenting stress and improving social support may be helpful in mitigating health in married immigrant women.

After industrialization, the labor force participation rates of women, especially married women is drastically increasing. So, this study was designed to analyze the determinants of married women's employment status considered. For this, the determinants of married women's employment status were divided into individual-related, children-related, household-related and job-related variables to establish the research models. Based on this, the following results were drawn from a multinominal logistic regression analysis of the determinants of married women's employment status. First, an analysis of individual-related variable showed that married women had the employment status of labor wages with residence in the center of the city and high academic background. Second, an analysis of children-related variable showed that they had the employment status of labor wages with many their children and no their children under the age of six. Third, an analysis of household-related variable showed that they had the self-employment status of labor wages with nuclear family and few income earners of family members. Finally, an analysis of job-related variable showed that they had the employment status of labor wages when they got a job before they got married, their husband didn't get a job, and their husband worked in a professional field. As for findings stated above, as there was a difference in the determinants of married women's employment status, the ways for improvement in the married women's employment status would be suggested as follows. First, married women with young children have the low employment status, basically, requiring problem-solving ways for this because the housekeeping and child-rearing burden caused by marriage and childbirth are factors that continue to obstruct a job. For this, the flexible working hours system, which housekeeping and child-rearing can harmonize with economic activities like developed countries, needs to be activated. But the activation of such flexible working system will produce actual results under institutional protection, such as a related-protection law. Second, the Leave of Child Care System is debated as one of the most representatively systems that housekeeping can harmonize with economic activities. Now, although the System is legislated, the use is very poor.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of anxiety, depression, social support, and physical health status on the health-related quality of life of Korean pregnant women using Spilker's quality of life model. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with a correlational design. The participants included 166 pregnant women who were recruited via convenience sampling at two healthcare centers in South Korea. Questionnaires were collected from April 22 to May 29, 2023, in two cities in South Korea. The EuroQol-5D-3L, General Anxiety Disorder-7, Patient Health Questionnaire-2, Perceived Social Support through Others Scale-8, and EuroQol visual analog scale were used to assess the study variables. The t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression tests were conducted using IBM SPSS ver. 26.0. Results: Statistically significant correlations were identified between the health-related quality of life of pregnant women and anxiety (r=.29, p<.001), depression (r=.31, p<.001), social support (r=-.34, p<.001), and physical health status (r=-.44, p<. 001). Physical health status (β=-.31, p<.001) and social support (β=-.21, p=.003) had the greatest effect on health-related quality of life (F=15.50, p<.001), with an explanatory power of 26.0%. Conclusion: The health-related quality of life of pregnant women was affected by social support and physical health status. This study demonstrated that physical health and social support promotion can improve the health-related quality of life of pregnant women. Healthcare providers should consider integrating physical health into social support interventions for pregnant women in the post-pandemic era.
This research is based on the survey of welfare beneficiaries, aiming to set up the gender-equal welfare policies. Through the survey, this research examines status of women in the family and society and also examines, the degree of perception of women's welfare policies, needs, and satisfaction. According to the survey results, the current welfare policies that are limited to needy women should expand its range, enforcing the infra structure. That employment policy for women turned out to be very important in welfare policies. Demand for more enlarged welfare policies is quite high, especially in housing, employment and elderly care. On the contrary, the degree of satisfaction degree appears quite low because of unrealistic welfare program and benefits. In order to improve the welfare policies, more active and realistic employment policies should be emphasized with the proper support for family life. To raise the status of women, proper policies for women's economic independence should be set up. In addition, consciousness of gender equality should be encouraged in the whole society. Also, women's participation in politics and decision-making process is necessary.
The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between the conspicuous consumption of clothing and status inconsistency. For this study, two kinds of guestionnaires were conducted to collect data for the conspicuous consumption variables of clothing and status inconsistency variables. Status inconsistency was measured by educational levels and occupational levels of married women and their husbands, the family′s total income. Status inconsistency was defined by the inconsistency among married women′s and their husband′s educational levels, family′s total income, their husband′s occupational levels. In order to investigate status inconsistency effects, when their investment (education0 are lower than their rewards (income or occupation) they are classified as over-rewarded inconsistency, while their investments is higher than their rewards, as under-rewarded inconsistency, and their investments are equal to their rewards, as consistency. The conspicuous consumption variables in clothing were consisted of seven variables; Brand-oriented, Fashion-oriented, Leisure-showing, Leisure-oriented purchase of clothing and Excessive expenditure to purchase of clothing, purchase of Imitation clothing in well-known brand and purchase of Expensive clothing from abroad. Data were obtained fro m436 housewives living in Kwang-ju are a and analyzed by F-test, Pearson′s Correlation and Frequency. The results of this study were follow; When the subjects were divided into three group according to their status inconsistency type, there were significant differences (P<.05 or P<.01) among groups of conspicuous consumption variables in clothing. The groups of "under pivileged" status inconsistency type and "over rewarded" status inconsistency type were tend to show conspicuous consumption in clothing than other type of status inconsistency groups.
