In this paper, we consider the diversity combining method for multiple symbol differential detection (MSDD) over the slow fading diversity channel. Though the performance of the optimum maximum-likelihood sequence estimator for MSDD approaches the performance of maximal-ratio combining with differential encoding, the complexity increases exponentially as the size of MSDD block is increased. This new pre-combining method can make use of the efficient MSDD algorithm that has a complexity increasing linearly with the block length or MSDD. Thus, in many wireless scenarios where it is not possible to perform coherent detection. this pre-combined diversity MSDD can be applied to obtain substantial gain compare to conventional differential detection.

A key issue toward mobile multimedia communications is to create technologies for broadband signal transmission that can support high quality services. Such a broadband mobile communications system should be able to overcome severe distortion caused by time-varying multi-path fading channel, while providing high spectral efficiency and low power consumption. For these reasons, an adaptive suboptimum decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for the single-carrier short-burst transmissions system is considered as one of the feasible solutions. For the performance improvement of the system with the short-burst format including the short training sequence, in this paper, the multiple-training least mean square (MTLMS) based DFE scheme with soft decision feedback is proposed and its performance is investigated in mobile wireless channels throughout computer simulation.

In this paper, performance analysis of full-duplex (FD) relay selection under decode-and-forward (DF) relaying mode is carried out by taking into account several critical factors, including the distributions of the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the outage probability of wireless links. The tradeoff between the FD and half-duplex (HD) modes for relay selection techniques is also analyzed, where the former suffers from the impact of residual self-interference, but the latter requires more channel resources than the former (i.e., two orthogonal channels are required). Furthermore, the impact of optimal power allocation (OPA) on the proposed relay-selection scheme is analyzed. Particularly, the exact closed-form expressions for outage probability of the proposed scheme over Rayleigh fading channels are derived, followed by validating the proposed analysis using simulation. Numerical results show that the proposed FD based scheme outperforms the HD based scheme by more than 4 dB in terms of coding gain, provided that the residual self-interference level in the FD mode can be substantially suppressed to the level that is below the noise power.

In this paper, the performance of a multicarrier CDMA system applying adaptive modulation and adaptive subchannel allocation scheme is analyzed in wireless environment. In case of the proposed system, total subchannels is 4 and data is transmitted over 2 subchannels with the biggest fading, Threshold of each channels is 5.2 ㏈, 9 ㏈, 13.2 ㏈ and 8.4 ㏈, 12.2 ㏈, 16.3 ㏈. The BER of 10-3 is 8.1 ㏈. This is increased 12.9 ㏈ in comparison with the existing system. The BPS according to average channel is needed average E$_{b}$ N$_{o}$ of about 15 ㏈ in 7 bit.t.

The emergence of Bluetooth as a radio interface scheme has allowed electronic devices to be instantly interconnected as ad-hoc networks. These short range ad-hoc wireless networks are called piconets, operated in the unlicensed 2.45 GHz ISM(Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band where up to eight devices may be used to configure single or overlapping piconets. In this paper, we have simulated the PER(Packet Error Rate), the ratio of received packet and payload BER(Bit Error Rate) of piconet with packet types of Bluetooth ACL/SCO(Asynchronous Connection Less/Synchronous Connection Oriented) link over wireless ad-hoc environment. The Rayleigh fading effects are considered as channel model, and the simulation results are based on the baseband model of Bluetooth specification. From the simulation results, the PER and the throughput of Bluetooth piconet are sensibly affected by the packet type of ACL/SCO link.

The video transmission system using OFDM method at 18GHz frequency band was developed for wireless video transmission from subway to monitoring center when subway running. It is composed of digital modulation board and RF board. And it has a robust characteristics of multipath fading in subway tunnels at 18GHz. To verify the system, we used spectrum analyzer for analysing the output of transmission system and get the results that it has 350MHz frequency, 8MHz bandwidth and -19dBm channel power. Also we tested video receiving using MPEG-2 encoder and got good quality images.
WLAN virtualization can make multiple simultaneous experiments, each of which is conducted by a separate researcher, share scarce wireless resources in an IEEE 802.11 WLAN. The experiment performed in a virtualized WLAN should be consistent with that in a non-virtualized WLAN. The more similar these two experimental results, the better the consistency. To this end, we propose a novel virtualization scheme that has good consistency by preventing multiple simultaneous experiments from interacting with one another, without any modifications to the IEEE 802.11 standard. Through an intensive simulation study, we confirm that the consistency depends not only on the number of simultaneous experiments but also on wireless channel characteristics such as Doppler frequency and Ricean factor. According to such dependencies, the proposed scheme is optimized, so that it supports good consistency.

Conventional 1-1-1 cooperative protocol offers path-loss gain as advantage of multi-hop and spatial diversity which is equivalent to MIMO system. This protocol is enable to get higher reliability and reduction of power consumption than those of the single-hop or multi-hop. But the 1-1-1 cooperative protocol get only the diversity order 2 and limited path-loss reduction gain because this protocol has a single cooperative relay. We propose 1-2-1 cooperative protocol using two cooperative relays R1, R2. The 1-2-1 cooperative protocol can improve path-loss reduction and increase diversity order 3. Moreover, the cooperative relay R2 attains diversity order 2. The signaling method in transmission uses DF (Decode and Forward) or DR (Decode and Reencode) and 1-2-1 DF/DR cooperative protocol are applied to clustering based wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Simulations are performed to evaluate the performance of the protocols under Rayleigh fading channel plus AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise).

In this paper, we proposed a trellis coded Multi-Carrier CDMA 16 QAM system with multiple transmit/receive antenna diversity technique, which is simple and suitable for indoor wireless communications. The proposed multiple transmit/receive antenna diversity technique is that the transmitter sends a trellis coded Multi-Carrier CDMA 16 QAM signal from multiple transmitting antennas with intentional time delays, which makes a receiver possible to distinguish and combine the signals from different antennas. In wireless indoor communication system, if we allow the increase of the complexity of the system, it is also possible to achieve additional diversity gain in the performance with the combination of the proposed technique and the conventional receiving antenna diversity. Furthermore, we have found that the proposed trellis coded Multi-Carrier CDMA 16 QAM system, which employs multiple transmit/receive antenna, is less sensitive to the multiple user interference and fading than conventional receiving antenna diversity systems.

This paper proposes the algorithm for tracking of the residual phase errors incurred by carrier frequency offset and sampling frequency offset in the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems which are suitable for high data rate wireless communications. In the OFDM systems the subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other are modulated by digital data and transmitted simultaneously. The carrier frequency offset causes degradation of signal to noise ratio(SNR) performance and interference between the adjacent subcarriers. The errors in the sampling timing caused by the sampling frequency difference between the transmitter and the receiver sides also cause a major performance degradation in the OFDM systems. The residual error tracking and compensation mechanism is essential in the OFDM system since the carrier and the sampling frequency offset cause the loss of orthogonality resulting in the system performance loss. This paper proposes the scheme where the channel gain and the payload data information are reflected in the residual error tracking process which results in the reduction of the estimation error and the tracking performance improvements under the frequency selective fading wireless channels.
