최근의 국제 올림픽은 첨단 ICT 기술 산업의 경연장으로서 국가적 위상을 고양하고, 산업 측면에서는 자국의 기술 수준을 과시하는 중요한 기회의 장으로 자리매김하고 있다. 또한 국제 올림픽을 위한 ICT 전략은 올림픽 이후 관련 산업에 발전에 적지 않은 영향을 끼칠 수 있어서 각국은 해당 올림픽의 ICT 기술과 전략 개발에 총력을 기울이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 역대 올림픽 ICT 적용 현황을 간략하게 소개하고 이를 바탕으로 평창 동계 올림픽의 ICT 추진 전략을 분석하고자 한다.

국제행사에 있어서 테러단체에 의한 테러 대상이 점차 특정인물이 아닌 불특정 다수라는 점에서 행사 관람객이나 참가국들의 불안감이 가중되고 있어 주최국에서는 많은 비용을 감수하면서 안전 및 위기관리에 만전을 기하여 주최국으로서 위상을 높이기 위해 힘쓰고 있다. 이에 각종 국제 행사를 많이 개최해 온 우리나라지만 국제행사에 테러 위협이 항상 존재하고 가능성이 점차 높아지고 있기 때문에 이번 평창 동계올림픽을 진행함에 있어서 안전 및 위기관리 부분에 많은 부담으로 작용하고 있다. 따라서 동계올림픽의 성공적인 개최를 위하여 우리나라도 테러에 대하여 더 이상 안전한 국가라는 인식을 버리고 동계올림픽 중에 일어날 수 있는 각종 범죄와 테러에 대하여 대응 방안을 강구해야 한다. 그 대응방안을 살펴보면 첫째, 대테러 전략의 변화가 필요하며, 둘째, 평창올림픽 안전주체 및 안전대책이 수립되어야하고, 셋째, 민간 경호 경비업체를 적극적으로 활용해야 한다는 것이며, 넷째, 민간 경비인력 및 안전요원에 대한 안전관리 교육 강화를 해야 한다. 마지막으로 신속하고 유기적인 사전안전관리 시스템을 구축하여 평창동계 올림픽뿐만 아니라 지속적으로 개최될 국제행사에 안전 및 위기에 대하여 효과적으로 대처해나가야 할 것이다.

The 5GCHAMPION Europe-Korea collaborative project provides the first fully-integrated and operational 5G prototype in 2018, in conjunction with the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The corresponding technological advances comprise both an evolution and optimization of existing technological solutions and disruptive new features, which substantially outpace previous generations of technology. In this article, we focus on a subset of three disruptive technological solutions developed and experimented on by 5GCHAMPION during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games: high speed communications, direct satellite-user equipment communications, and post-sale evolution of wireless equipment through software reconfiguration. Evaluating effectiveness and performing trials for these key 5G features permit us to learn about the actual maturity of 5G technology prototyping and the potential of new 5G services for vertical markets and end user enhanced experience two years before the launch of large-scale 5G services.

The ski jump in Innsbruck known for the famous annual New Year "Four-ski-jump-tournament" has been fully renewed. The original jumping tower (built for the 1976 Olympic winter games) was fully pulled down and a new landmark similar to a lighthouse has been erected located on a small hill at the border of the city. Zaha Hadid(London) won the international architectural competition for this significant building. The constructional realisation has been ordered from Aste Konstruktion and has been finally honoured with the Austrian state award for consulting 2002. After a very strict timetable the building was already handed restaurant at the top.

As expectations about success of smart phones that install Android, an open mobile platform which was developed by Google, are increasing, the development of applications based on the Android has attracted a lot of interest. Especially, game applications have been well received by users. In this paper, we develop an application based on the Android for curling which was adopted as a competitive sport in the Winter Olympic Games. Curling is a sport game played by two teams. The rules of the game are simple, but it is an intelligent one that requires various strategies for victory. In this paper, the curling game based on the Android provides functions, such as pitching, sweeping, collision, and foul handling, that are required in real curling game by using technologies, such as touch screen or accelerometer sensor.

As the Korea Sports Council and The Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) were integrated in June 2009, the Amended Articles expunged the applicable provisions of the e Korea Sports Arbitration Committee (KSAC), which was established in Markch 2006. To successfully host international sports events, such as 2014 Incheon Asian Games and PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, the Korea Sports Arbitration Committee (KSAC) must be restored immediately. In this sense, this thesis places emphasis on the necessity of precise legal basis with the purpose of the revitalization of sports dispute settlement as well as the enhancement of the Korea Sports Arbitration Committee.

Millimeter wave communication is one of the main disruptive technologies in upcoming 5G mobile networks. One of the first candidate applications, which will be commercially ready by 2020, is wireless backhaul links or wireless last mile communication. This paper provides an analysis of this use-case from radio engineering and implementation perspectives. Furthermore, preliminary experimental results are shown for a proof-of-concept wireless backhaul solution developed within the EU-KR 5GCHAMPION project, which will be showcased during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Korea. In this paper, we verify system level calculations and a theoretical link budget analysis with conductive and radiated over-the-air measurements. The results indicate that the implemented radio solution is able to achieve the target key performance indicator, namely, a 2.5 Gbps data rate on average, over a range of up to 200 m.

In this study, we propose a new scheme of nonlinear analysis for Incheon International Airport Terminal-2 which was opened on January of 2018 for the Olympic Winter Games of PyeongChang in South Korea. The terminal was built by a single layered irregular space frame. It has hard problems for nonlinear analysis geometrically, because of a limitation of personal computer's ability by the number of rigid joints in the roof. Therefore we attempt easier approach to be chosen a center part of the roof instead of the whole structure, and to substitute the other boundary parts as springs. The scheme shows some merits for saving memory and calculation time and so on.

국내 해양관광은 교통접근성에 의하여 영향을 크게 받고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 광역 교통망 확충에 따른 해양관광 접근성이 개선됨에 필요한 방안을 마련하고자 하였으며, 특히 2018 평창동계올림픽의 성공적 개최와 더불어 강릉선 KTX 개통으로 국내외적으로 주목받고 있는 강원도 지역의 해양관광 수용태세 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

It is important to encourage the restoration of the production of traditional Korean liquors, which is being undertaken by individuals, companies, and the government. The flavours of traditional liquors differ and depend on the environment and raw materials. This study on the traditional Gangwondo liquor is based on literature review and oral tradition. The history of and the scientific rationale behind the use of malt, which is a characteristic feature of the traditional Gangwondo liquor manufacturing process, must be systematically researched. It is important that independent two-step fermentation is used in Gangwondo, while in other regions simultaneous two-step fermentation is used. We expect that the current research on fermentation will be useful for the production of various traditional liquors. The total production of traditional liquors will need to be increased to meet the needs of the world festival, 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
