The data were collected from 1, April, 2016 to 15, April using self-report, questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient, using SPSS 20.0. As a result, self-esteem, professional self-concept, major satisfaction, and adjustment to college life averaged 3.80 (out of 4), 2.81 (4), 3.86 (5), and 2.75 (5) respectively. In terms of correlations, there was a significant positive correlation between adjustment to college life and self-resilience (r=.404, p<.001) and professional self-concept (r=.404, p<.001) and major satisfaction(r=.455, p<.001). In addition, self-resilience (${\beta}=.252$, p<.001) and major satisfaction (${\beta}=.309$, p<.001) of variance in adjustment to college life and the explanatory power of the model was 27.2%. Based on these results, improvement programs are necessary to help nursing students get adjusted to college life.

  • The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions. The study population consisted of 162 young children's mothers and teachers from seven kindergartens in A city. Data were collected from June 1 to June 30, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of 73 items about maternal self-efficacy, children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive methods and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 22.0 version. The study results were as follows. First, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with the activeness of children's preschool adjustment. Second, children's ego-resilience was significantly positively(+) correlated with children's preschool adjustment. Third, regarding the relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment, while children's ego-resilience was strongly positively(+) correlated with maternal self-efficacy and children's preschool adjustment. In conclusion, this study finding of a positive(+) relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions indicates that children's ego-resilience is a reliable predictor of children's preschool adjustment. These study results imply that children's ego-resilience is strongly influenced by children's preschool adjustment.

A convenience sample of 195 subjects were recruited from four colleges. Subsequently, a survey was conducted from March 1st to 31th 2016. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The mean value of the study was as follows: nursing professionalism, $3.84{\pm}.47$; ego-resilience, $3.51{\pm}.58$; and empowerment, $2.79{\pm}.51$. There were significant positive correlations among ego-resilience (r=.455, p<.001), empowerment (r=.325, p<.001), and nursing professionalism. Significant positive correlations between ego-resilience and empowerment were found (r=.696, p<.001). Hence, ego-resilience and empowerment were determined to be factors that influence nursing professionalism. Ego-resilience was more influential for nursing professionalism than empowerment. The regression model explained 23.0% of nursing professionalism. In conclusion, to increase nursing professionalism in nursing students, it is necessary to develop educational programs and strategies that focus on improving ego-resilience and empowerment.

  • This study is a descriptive correlation study investigating the effects of stress disorder symptoms, resilience, and social network on post-traumatic growth in traffic accident patients. The participants were 158 traffic accident cases enrolled from five 100-bed hospitals situated in city C. Data were collected from July 1 to August 31, 2018, and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using SPSS / Win23. The explanatory power of post-traumatic growth was determined to be 36.9%, and the factors affecting post-traumatic growth were social network and post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition, social networks completely established the relationship between resilience and post-traumatic growth. Our results confirmed that a wider social network and increased symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder of the traffic accident patient are associated with higher post-traumatic growth. Therefore, it is necessary to explore approaches that improve the social networks and resilience to help post-traumatic growth of traffic accident patients. Additional research is required through repetitive and long-term observation of the accident victims.

  • This paper reports the results of descriptive research aimed at determining the effects of the administrative hospital staff members' organization-based self-esteem and work engagement on their organizational citizenship behaviors. The participants of the study were 200 administrative staff members of general hospitals, each with 200 beds or more, located in B city. Data were collected from March 15 to 30, 2017, and analyzed statistically using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. The organizational citizenship behaviors differed significantly according to whether they had an experience of turnover (t=-4.260, p=.000) and how long they had served at their present work (t=3.297, p=.039). In addition, the organizational citizenship behaviors had strong positive correlations with the organization-based self-esteem (r=.454, p=<.000) and work engagement (r=.595, p<.000). In addition, the factor that explained the organizational citizenship behaviors most significantly was work engagement, followed by organization-based self-esteem and the period of service at the present work. All three factors accounted for 41% of those behaviors. These findings suggest that the hospital should perform internal marketing or improve its welfare system to make administrative staff members raise their self-esteem based on their organization. Moreover, the hospital should form an organizational culture of its own, in which administrative staff members feel the importance of their job, enjoy it and are given autonomy in job performance, ultimately contributing to the development of hospital management.
