This study also examines the differency in the frequency of usage, the number of products purchased, consumer satisfaction and willingness to reuse, and evaluation of the auction sites according to the characteristics of consumers' socio-economic factors and the auction site itself. Determinant variables is investigated in the level of consumer satisfaction. The results of this study are as below: First, consumers used auction sites frequently, especially when they were in their 20s, intended to purchase clothes, and thought the delivery time would be short. In addition, consumers were more likely to purchase products, with low income buy first pay later, and short deliberation. Second, consumers, unemployed and in their 50s, sell-purchase among consumers were less likely to have a willingness to reuse the auction site. However, consumers with an experience to buy clothes or products with a price between 50,000 and 100,000 won were more likely to have a willingness to reuse the site. Third, consumer satisfaction with auction sites were higher among those who were females; responsible as a consumer; full of experiences; and received the product within a short period of time. Lastly, the willingness to reuse auction sites was positively related to the following type of consumers: single, employed, and responsible as a consumer.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the Willingness To Payment (WTP) of sea-anglers regarding the increase in the abundance of fish resources resulting from the Korean vessel buy-back program using the contingent valuation method. Data was collected through sample surveys of 352 sea-anglers across the nation in 2015. If a 20% increase in the abundance of fish resources resulted from the vessel buy-back program, WTP estimates of sea-anglers per recreational fishing trip were 9,570 won on truncated mean, 16,528 won on mean, and 35,830 won on median, respectively. Additionally, when the number of annual total recreational fishing trips in Korea were estimated as 22,700 thousand trips, the annual increase in national welfare through recreational fishing was estimated to be 217.2 billion won on the truncated mean, 375.2 billion won on the mean, and 813.3 billion won on the median, respectively.

  • This study aimed to examine the different factors affecting the intention to purchase meal kits between at-home concept meal kits and eating-out concept meal kits. An online survey was conducted with 565 Korean participants including meal kit experienced (n=412) and non-experienced (n=153). Meal kits selection attributes were organized into five factors, health, price, environmental protection, convenience, and familiarity. To verify the hypothesis, SPSS Statistics 23 was used. The main results can be summarized as follows. First, in the case of the at-home menu, convenience(p < .01), environmental protection(p < .05), and familiarity(p < .01) show positive influences on willingness to buy. Second, for the eating-out menu, health(p < .001) and convenience(p < .001) have positive effects on willingness to buy, but familiarity(p<.01) has a negative effect. This is the first study to categorize the menu of meal kits and investigate each factor affecting willingness to buy. Therefore, the results can offer useful guidelines to meal kit marketers letting them know the consumers' purchase behaviors.

  • Research on consumers' perception and willingness to purchase Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) is necessary to simulate BEVs' deployment in South Korea because South Korea's BEVs market is still in the early stage. This paper derives a theoretical framework for consumer segmentation based on consumers' willingness to purchase before and after BEV usage experience. In particular, this study empirically evaluates consumers' willingness to purchase and concerns using the survey data from BEVs users in either Seoul or the Jeju region. The empirical results from logit models show that experienced consumers' concerns about the heater and air conditioning (HAC) in BEVs decreased the consumers' willingness to buy, while greater daily driving distances increased the consumers' willingness to buy. In addition, the empirical findings from ordered probit models show that experienced consumers' concerns about the short driving distance, the availability of maintenance service (i.e., A/S service) during unexpected events, and the difficulties of driving BEVs up-hill increased the degree of concern about HAC. This paper will provide insights related to consumer segmentation, R&D, marketing strategies, and policy design for policymakers and firms.

  • This article is intended to investigate how the Japanese consumers have changed the country image on Korea, the evaluation toward products manufactured by Korea and the willingness to buy Korean products through the experience of Korean Wave. So the country image, the evaluation and the willingness were compared between the before and after experiencing Korean Wave The empirical result said that during the span of Korean Wave the country image and the evaluation have improved, but the intentions to purchase Korean products are still not positive in Japan. So an additional analysis was made to find the reason of the unwillingness to buy Korean products. Although they regard Korean products as qualitatively good against price, they seldom know Korean brand, hardly watch korean product's advertisement. Especially the intentions to purchase Korean products in durable goods was lower than in consuming goods.

  • The product evaluation and purchasing behavior of US brand jeans have been studied. The intrinsic and extrinsic cues are usually adopted to interpret the purchasing decison making processes. Among extrinsic cues price and brand name have been studied exten-sively but country-of-origin has not been examined in Korea. With the liberalization of retail industry foreign brands are aggressively penetrating in Korean pparel market. Since the penetration of imported apparel has increased tremendously lately the consumer attitude toward foreign produced clothing has great importance. The findings of the study were 1) Price was the most important among extrinsic cues ex-cept quality. Brand name was more important than store and country-of-origin. 2) The country image had significant influence to the preference as apparel production country. 3) The evaluation and willingness to buy of the jeans were greatly influenced by the be-havioral charcteristics of consumer variables. 4) The model to predict the willingness to buy of the jeans has been developed.

  • The study was conducted to examine consumers' awareness and perceptions on forest certification and their willingness to buy and pay price premium for certified wood products especially for selected four wood products. A total of 136 residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were interviewed in the autumn of 2008. Although only 24.3 percent of the consumers are aware of forest certification, 82.4 percent of the respondents recognized the need and significance of forest certification. In general, 77.2 percent of the respondents were willing to buy certified wood products. Majority of the respondents, 84 out of 136 respondents (61.8%) expressed their willingness to pay (WTP) from more than 0 percent to less than 10 percent. Consumers' average WTP for certified wood products was estimated to be 5.6 percent. From the results of the study, lower priced wood products, such as copier paper (WTP=9.8%) and wood frame (WTP=11.6%), have higher price premiums than high priced products, such as wood table (WTP=6.8%) and wood flooring (WTP=7.6%). In conclusion, there could be feasible markets for certified wood products in South Korea as four out of five consumer are willing to pay more for such products. For the forest certification system to be adopted and widely accepted, the perceptions of forest stakeholders including consumers should be further increased.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze perceptions of consumers and willingness to play for high-priced food. The price dispersions of four food categories - soybean sprouts, tofu, milk, and egg - were analyzed through the market analysis, and the survey with the structured questionnaire was utilized to get information on the reason why consumers buy and don't buy the high-priced food. It tested whether a consumer would change the choice if the new product information on safety issues is offered and if the price of high-priced food is lowed. Results showed that generally consumers don't have the confidence on the level of safety and comparative advantages of quality of high-priced food, but they just purchase the high-priced food as long as they can afford it.
