In this study, through a survey on traffic safety campaigns for electric wheelchairs for the disabled, we found out what is necessary to solve the inconvenience of disabled people driving electric wheelchairs and living in society. The conclusions for each role of the severely disabled are as follows. The government has enacted a law on fostering convenience facilities for the disabled in accordance with reality so that the disabled, who are vulnerable to transportation, do not have any inconvenience in their social lives. However, it is not kept in reality, so there are many obstacles to the social activities of the disabled. In addition, local governments should subscribe to electric wheelchair insurance for the disabled to minimize the damage to the disabled in the event of an electric wheelchair accident. Organizations related to the disabled provide safety wheelchair driving education to prevent electric wheelchair accidents in advance and receive complaints about inconvenience. It can be concluded that people with severe disabilities can prevent accidents in advance by installing a moving ring tone on an electric wheelchair so that they can know the movement of the surrounding wheelchair.

The development of autonomous driving technology is expected to bring about a major change in the mobility rights of the transportation vulnerable. It is very important to identify user requirements in developing autonomous vehicles and service technologies for the transportation vulnerable. User requirements were derived for the wheelchair disabled and the walking disabled. Through focus interviews, a total of 58 requirements were derived for wheelchair-using disabled people and 53 requirements for walking disabled people. A Kano survey was conducted on 33 wheelchair disabled and 34 walking disabled. After that, the quality types of functional requirements in terms of autonomous vehicles and service environment development were analyzed using the Kano model. Priority analysis was conducted on the functions required by the wheelchair disabled and the walking disabled. The results of this study can be used as basic data to determine the priorities of user function requirements in the early stages of autonomous vehicle and service technology development.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical characteristic by directly measuring the wheelchair using disabled women and to classify Body Type of a disabled person. The subjects were 103 disabled women of wheelchair used women and between 20 - 55 years of age The result of this study is as follow. 1. There was a remarkable difference in the physical characteristic of wheelchair using disabled women due to their cause of disability. The cause of disability was classified into the 4 groups; Poliomyelitis, Spiral Cord Injury, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy. 2. The result came out to be 4 factors by the factor analysis on the data of an anthropometric measurement to the wheelchair using disabled women and also cluster analyzing the factor scores, the experiment was concluded to 4 types. Type 1 came out to be a short height with the shortest legs. Type 2 was body shape which had a corpulent upper body and wide shoulder but with short and slim lower body. Type 3 has the shortest height, weak and lean upper body, small shoulders Type 4 has the largest stature and legs 3. A comparison of anthropometric measurements of wheelchair using disabled women with National Anthropometric Survey Korea(1997) was significant difference
This study aims at establishing a sizing system required for producing ready-made clothes which can fit the body shape of disabled men using wheelchair. It measured the bodies of 178 adult men using wheelchair and compared the sizing system of German adult men using wheelchair (1984) with KS system(KS K0050, 2004) in order to establish standards of the sizing system. AS a result, in terms of classification of body shapes, KS system cover more types of disabled men's body shapes and especially, A types (Drop 15.6) showed the widest coverage with 32%. In classification of heights, the widest range of height was 170 cm, and Korean men's four sizes between 158 cm and 176 cm covers 88.2% of disabled men's body shape. For chest size, 91.1% of disabled men's chest sizes were included in seven sizes, which are 4 cm intervals between 88 cm and 112 cm with 100 cm standard. In consideration of the ranges of height and chest, the general sizes (A types; 11 sizes, B types; 3 sizes, Y types; 5 sizes) are selected to present the standardized measurements. Basic parts of the upper garment sizing system for disabled men using wheelchair were height-chest-waist size.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual conditions of clothing of disabled adult men using wheelchair, to understand dissatisfactions and problems in wearing garment, and to construct basic data to development of the formal wear for wheelchair user. This study conducted survey of 162 men using wheelchair who regularly enjoy the sports for disabled people or who work in society. The results of this study are follows. The majority of wheelchair user tend to wear garment lying or seating. Therefore, they prefer garments that can be easily put on and off. They were dissatisfied mostly with the size of ready-made garment. More than 75% of the subjects tend to repair the purchased formal wear. Shoulder width and bust circumference are too small, jacket length, sleeve length, and slacks length are too big for disabled men using wheelchair. More than 93% subjects tend to prefer T-shirts, because of comfort and easiness to move. The men using wheelchair consider the function and the hygiene of fabric material for T-shirts as the important end.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical characteristic by directly measuring the wheelchair using disabled women. The subjects were 103 disabled women of wheelchair used women and between 20 - 55 years of age. The result of this study is as follow. There was a remarkable difference in the physical characteristic of wheelchair using disabled women due to their cause of disability. The cause of disability was classified into the 4 groups; poliomyelitis, spiral cord injury, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy. Poliomyelitis disability generally had a large horizontal area due to their strong upper body. People with spiral cord injury disability was shown to have the largest height, cervical height, waist back length, crotch length, knee length, The group of muscular dystrophy disabled people have the shortest length of body and also lean. The cebral palsy group of disabled people has an average length and height size body. A comparison of anthropometric measurements of wheelchair using disabled women with National Anthropometric Survey Korea(1997) was significant difference. People with poliomyelitis disability was shown to have a larger waist back length, neck point to breast point compared to normal women, but stature, crotch length was shorter compared to normal women. People with spiral cord injury disability had a similar in the vertical area. The group of muscular dystrophy and cebral palsy disabled people was short and smaller in general compared to a normal woman.
We propose an electric wheelchair that is suitable for the upper-limbs disabled with sufficient operability and low expenses. Features of this wheelchair, 1) By instating a simple mechanical module, existing electric wheelchairs can be readily converted to a special version for the upper-limbs disabled. 2) The electric wheelchair can be freely operated by motion of a head. 3) A vision system to assure safety operation by the disabled is introduced.

Purpose: The diverse users and the increase of power wheelchair users have made it difficult to apply the standards of Wheelchair user accessible toilet rooms for the existing law and BF-certification. To address these issues, the standards of the relevant laws have been improved (Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2018), but there are still many problems. In this study, problems with the standards for Wheelchair user accessible toilet rooms in Korea are analyzed by comparing national and international standards. In addition, improvements to standards for Wheelchair user accessible toilet rooms will be suggested. Method: It presents improvement for standards of Wheelchair user accessible toilet rooms by comparing national, international standard and standards of many countries. Korean standard, International Standard(ISO 21542), American Standard(ADA Standards), German Standard(DIN 18040-1), Austrian Standard($\ddot{O}NORM$ B 1600) and Swiss Standard(Norm SIA 500) were investigated and analyzed. Results: Korea's standards differ from the ISO and the Standards of other countries in many ways, so there is a need for realignment. Specifications for disabled toilets and clear criteria for the size, shape, and location of sanitary appliances in toilets that are practically available to wheelchair users should be provided. Considering the increasing number of disabled toilet users, the installation of various disabled toilet rooms should be considered considering the user characteristics of those who can walk and wheelchair users. Implication: Recent partial improvements to relevant laws cannot meet the requirements of various users. Therefore, comprehensive and clear standard should be presented that take into account changing society and the environment.

Nowadays with advancement in technology and aging society, the number of disabled citizens is increasing. The disabled citizens always need a caretaker for daily life routines especially for mobility. In future, the need is considered to increase more. To reduce the burden from the disabled, various devices for healthcare are introduced using computer technology. The power wheelchair is an important and convenient mobility device. The demand of power wheelchair is increasing for assistance in mobility. In this paper we proposed a robotic wheelchair for mobility aid to reduce the burden from the disabled. The main issue in an autonomous wheelchair is the automatic detection and avoidance of obstacles and going to the pre-designated place. The proposed algorithm detects the obstacles and avoids them to drive the wheelchair to the desired place safely. By this way, the disabled will not always have to worry about paying deep attention to the surroundings and his path.

These days the number of aged and disabled people is increasing rapidly. But most of the disabled or the aged who have the ability to work, want to engage in economic activities and solve social restrictions as well as their bad financial conditions. This paper concerns about the tracking control of an electric wheelchair robot for welfare vehicle where the seat and electric wheelchair are separated and electric wheelchair robot must be autonomously controlled without the help of assistant. So the aged or the disabled people can drive welfare vehicle by himself by adopting this system. Therefore the concept of both an autonomous driving of electric wheelchair and path tracking robots is required in this system. Finally we suggested fuzzy controller in order to control the path tracking of electric wheelchair robot and compared the capability of the proposed controller with conventional PID controller.
