For the safety of railway, it should be evaluated for the running safety by measuring the derailment coefficient. Although railway has run the fixed and maintained rail, some of railway is derailed. This report shows the results that performed the static load test, wheelset manufacturing for test, main line running test on the basis of the derailment theory and experience. It is executed main line test into more than 80km/h for estimating the curving performance and running safety of Gwangju EMU. As the test results, could confirm the curving performance and running safety of Gwangju EMU from the results of the wheel unloading, lateral force, derailment coefficient etc. Derailment coefficient was less than 0.8, and lateral force allowance limit and wheel load reduction ratio were enough safe.
The railroad is a means of large transportation which has many talents such as a safety and a regularity. That is a results from various confidential performance tests and evalutions of the system. The railroad system consist of various subsystems - vehicle, power spply, signal communications, track structures, operations, etc. Among them as an item of safety evaluation there is a measurement of wheel/rail force, so called a measurement of derailment coefficient. This is a very important item because a derailment of a train will bring about a big accident. Especially it is more important in high speed rail of which operation speed is over two times as fast as existing rail. In this paper, it is introduced to preprocess the wheelset for measuring wheel/rail force of Gwangiu EMU, such as to treat a measuring wheelset its finite element analysis, adhesion of strain gauges and static load test.
In the midst of accelerating wars around the world, unmanned robot technology that can guarantee the safety of human life is emerging. ERP-42 is a modular platform that can be used according to the application. In the field of defense, it can be used for transporting supplies, reconnaissance and surveillance, and medical evacuation in conflict areas. Due to the nature of the military environment, atypical environments are predominant, and in such environments, the platform's path followability is an important part of mission performance. This paper focuses on reducing the minimum turning radius in terms of improving path followability. The minimum turning radius of the existing 2WS/2WD in-wheel platform was reduced by increasing the torque of the independent driving in-wheel motor on the rear wheel to generate oversteer. To determine the degree of oversteer, two GPS were attached to the center of the front and rear wheelbases and measured. A closed-loop speed control method was used to maintain a constant rotational speed of each wheel despite changes in load or torque.

Studied in this paper was the lateral displacement of railway vehicle using the multi-body dynamic simulation program (VAMPIRE) and the BASS 501. The lateral displacement of railway vehicle is occurred by thc clearance between wheel flange and rail, the track irregularity, the property of each suspension of vehicle and the cant etc. The results of analysis shown that Vehicle is not interfere with subway platform in any conditions namely the tare and full load condition, the wheel. wear condition and the stationary and running of vehicle.
The current flat type side slip tester measures only the total side slip. Therefore, measurement techniques which can be used to determine the side slip for each alignment element were examined. Because the side slip related to the camber angle varies depending on the unit load per travel wheel while the side slip related to the toe angle does not on the unit per travel wheel, but depends only on the direction of the tire, the side slip for each alignment element can be determined separately.
Is confirming safety of derailment when wish to develop new vehicles or upgrade running speed of vehicles. This means the measure of wheel load and lateral force that act between wheel and rail. So far, problem in continuous measuring method of derailment coefficient was sensitivity decline and noise growth. This research supplemented these problems by composition of new bridge circuit.
Recently, railway industry has been developed not only functional parts such as acceleration and high performance of the railway but also emotional parts such as improved ride comfort and blocking noise. However, some important components of railway such as wheel and rail always had exposed too much operation time, cyclic load and rolling contact directly. The variations of load, vibration and chemical compositions were caused of wheel and rail having a lot of different types of contact fatigue damages. Therefore, It is necessary to improve inspection and maintenance technology in order to ensure safety and reliability of railway. Many researchers have already been reported the technology. Magnetic camera, one of the non-destructive testing technique can be used to inspect and evaluate the changes of magnetic field in ferromagnetic and paramagnetic materials with cracks. When an electromagnetic is applied to a specimen, a magnetic field will be distorted around a crack on the specimen. In present paper, the distribution of magnetic property in wheel with cracks using magnetic camera had investigated. The crack can be detected and evaluated by distribution analysis of magnetic field. The magnetic camera technique can be detected and evaluated the crack by rolling contact fatigue.
Rolling contact fatigue of an urban railway wheel was analysed during its rolling. A FEM analysis was performed using a 3D modelling of rail and wheel, considering the slope of the rail and nonlinear isotropic and kinematic hardening behavior of the rail and the wheel. The maximum von-Mises stress and contact pressure between the rail and wheel were 656.9 MPa and 1111.4 MPa, respectively, under axial load of 85 kN with friction coefficient of 0. The fatigue initiation life prediction relationships by strain-lifetime (${\varepsilon}$-N) and Smith-Watson-Topper method were drawn for the wheel steel as follows: $N_i=7.35{\times}10^6{\times}SWT^{-3.56}$ and $N_i=5.41{\times}10^{-9}{\times}(\frac{{\Delta}{\varepsilon}}{2})^{-5.77}$. The fatigue lifetimes of the wheel due to rolling contact were determined to be infinite by ${\varepsilon}$-N and SWT methods.
