  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the foodservice management practices, the equipment ratio of sanitary facility/equipment, and dietitians' perceptions of (i) the barriers to sanitary management and (ii) the sanitary management performance level in the welfare institutions for the disabled in Korea. The survey was conducted during the period from September 7 to October 15, 2006. A total of 91 institutions(response rate 74.6%) were analyzed by using SPSS(windows ver. 14.0). The average number of meals served per day per an institution was 379. The majority(93.4%) of dietitians made decisions in procurement. The major part of the purchase was made through private contract. The factors affecting menu planning were nutrition, food preference, and cost, in the order of importance. Among the food items, fruits were infrequently served, while protein source foods and green leaf vegetables were almost daily served. The equipment ratio of sanitary facilities/equipment was 45%, which was relatively low. Most dietitians perceived 'limited availability of facilities and equipment' and 'the lack of support from financing department' as the major barriers in implementing a desirable sanitary system. Sanitary management performance in 'the food ingredient' was perceived as the lowest, while that in 'the uniform' showed the highest. The results of this study suggest that a proper supporting program on securing the facility/equipment and adequately trained employees are needed for successful sanitary management. Also, a more frequent supply of fruits for the disabled is recommended.

  • Recently, the dramatical increasement of personal information infringement makes the government strongly enforce the laws. The Key-point of law enforcement is the DB encryption. Nevertheless, DB encryption is the one of the hardest thing in the organization's security measures. The purpose of this paper is suggesting alternative means of residence numbers and showing the possibility of indicator usage for safety measures. This research suggested the best ways to make a decision through a before and after comparison of the DB encryption cost of the inherent identification number elimination in "Social Welfare consolidation service system". When this research result was applied in "Happiness-e-Um system", we found that the alternative means are more efficient than the residence number for encryption cost, system revision time and so on.

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute the improvement of national welfare by presenting of pension welfare business of Korea and Japan. The reason why I take the management of Japan's pension accumulation as the object of comparative study is that the history of pension system of Japan is relatively longer than that of Korea. First of all, National Pension Fund comes into use for public sector, financial sector, and welfare sector, The scale of pension management for welfare sector is 50 small. Therefore, the study for welfare business investment reflecting the intentions of pension entries and pensioners is needs of times. This study defines the concept of welfare investment business and prospects welfare investment business of the future on the basis of Japanese experiences, and then suggests the direction of efficient propulsion of welfare investment business to the reasonable decision-makers. Especially this study redefine the concept of welfare investment business on the basis of pension entry's social benefits which are composed of pension entry's gains and pensioner's gain. Of course, welfare investment business has to be presupposed the stability of pension system and the continuous contribution to national economy. Thus, in order to efficiently perform welfare business, the policy-making for national welfare improvement has to be established after the good of business is set up like the results of this study.

The results are as follows family life education and the training program each other showed little relevance that merely $45{\%}$ attended the program. Life planning program for Elderly was mostly asked in the research of the degree of family life education program. Besides, many of them demanded for the family care program for those who have divorced, remarried or adopted the child, showing their active will to solve them which have been dealt quite privately. Family life education is dealing with the current problem solving and future life planning. In this regard, it is strongly needed to experience and learn the dynamics of family life for lifetimes. • Various institutions provide various welfare-related services, and accordingly, the quantity and quality of welfare-related services are improved. Along with the improvement of welfare services, the rate of fraudulent and redundant supply and demand due to inappropriate applicants is also increasing. In particular, in the case of similarly promoted projects by various institutions, confirmation of duplicate applications may be insufficient due to system inconsistency between institutions and delays in qualification verification, which may result in duplicate supply and demand. In this paper, in order to prevent the redundant supply and demand related to welfare service similar projects in various institutions, the problem of data management and sharing between institutions was reviewed and a method of applying blockchain technology was proposed step by step. Through the proposal of this paper, transparent data management of recipients is possible, and through this, trust-based welfare benefit management will be possible.

  • The concept about zoo is changing from the animal exhibition which simply contained the animals to the ecological zoo which has the function of preserving the animal species. At the central point of maintaining such role, the basic principle called the animal welfare lies obviously. Korea has applied the animal welfare principles such as carrying out the enrichment in the zoos since 2003, but there has not been any institutional device to evaluate and examine the application of the animal welfare so far. This study aims to confirm the level of animal welfare in Korea and suggest a developmental direction. For the purpose of the study, 12 zoos in Korea were evaluated according to 68 evaluating categories. 'Five Principles of Animal Welfare' in the Secretary of State's Standards of Modern Zoo Practice were selected and carried out as the evaluation categories, and the result, from the highest to lowest score given, was 'provision of food and water', 'provision of protection from fear and distress', 'provision of health care', 'provision of an opportunity to express most normal behaviours', and 'provision of a suitable enrichment' with the overall score of the entire Korean zoos being 2.86 (${\pm}$ 0.56). It was also confirmed that in order to improve the animal welfare of the Korean zoos, the animal management system must be standardized and organized. The evaluation and feedback, the active practice of animal welfare and its legislative support should be provided to establish an effective institutional device as well.
