  • For maintaining railroad, accumulated passing tonnage is a determinant factor of appropriate rail replacement time. Recently, Seoul Metro's rail maintaining system and technology is being improved from previous years, which increasing a standard of rail replacement. Thus, this brings importance of estimating and managing for accumulated passing tonnage. In case of light weighted train such as subway, current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage has defaults of misrepresenting accumulated passing tonnage data. Because current method is based on the weight of passengers and train., and operation data. In addition, currently there is no mechanical and electronic system that could represent and support the accurate data between heavy and non-heavy traffic area, and accumulated passing tonnage is calculated inaccurately by estimating average value each line. The current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage misleads to unpredictable data that represent inappropriate rail replacement period, which leads to under or over analyzed replacement period. If accumulated passing tonnage is over estimated, rail replacement leads to waste of budget. Hence, it is necessary to construct reliable actual measurement system to manage rail's life safely and efficiently, and in this study the accumulated passing tonnage measurement device is installed with using rail pad of optical fiber sensors and its effect is analyzed.

그물코의 길이와 콧수의 변화에 따른 모노필라멘트 자망 그물감의 중량 계산 (Calculation of weight on netting with the changes of size and number of mesh for monofilament gill net fishing gear)

  • A net-assembling company for gill net fishing gears makes a design based on the size of nets provided and determines floats, types of weights, and numbers. In addition, through the accurate examination of net weights in the process of fishing gear designing, it can prevent an excessive use of designing costs. The weight of twine can be easily calculated by its thickness differences, but the weight of netting has errors to be calibrated since the weight of netting is not changing exponentially with the changes of number and size of meshes. This study aims to suggest and empirically analyze the methods for estimating the weights of netting in accordance with the changes of number, size and thickness of meshes for a sound management of netting and net-assembling companies. Results indicated that the method using the knots and legs of netting was not practically usable because the errors were increased as the number of mesh increased. However, the method using netting area shown its usage potentiality with the calibration of the increasing ratio of mesh numbers.

WIM 자료를 활용한 화물차량의 축중량 추정 모형 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Truck Axle Load Estimation Model Using Weigh-In-Motion Data)

  • 축중계를 통한 화물차량의 축하중 자료는 도로의 설계, 유지관리, 시설물 보호 등의 위해서 필수적인 자료이다. 이와 같은 용도로 고속축중계의 자료는 도로계획, 연구자, 공무들은 고속축중계 자료를 활용한다. 또한 최근에는 중차량에 대한 단속에도 고속축중계의 자료를 활용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일반국도에서 수집된 고속축중계 자료를 활용하여 축하중을 추정하는 모형을 개발하였다. 추정된 축하중 추정 모형은 기존의 평균값을 이용한 방법과의 비교를 통하여 개발된 모형에 대한 비교 평가하였다. 축중량 추정에 있어 기존의 평균값을 적용하는 것보다 회귀모형을 적용하는 것이 모든 차종에 걸쳐서 작은 오차를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 이러한 모형은 현장에서 운영되는 고속축중계의 결측자료 보정, 재보정 여부에 대한 평가 등의 목적으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 현대농업의 한 부분인 축산업은 우리나라 경제에 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 축산업의 자동화 및 무인화는 현재 농촌의 인력부족 문제를 해결할 뿐만 아니라, 우리 농민의 수익도 높일 수 있으며, 나아가서 우리 농업의 국제경쟁력을 제고할 수 있다. 영국 등 다른 선진국에서는 자국의 양돈농가를 위하여 돼지의 무게를 예측할 수 있는 돼지의 무게를 예측시스템을 개발하였다. 돼지 무게 예측시스템은 돼지의 무게를 예측할 수 있으므로 가격이 좋은 시기에 사육한 돼지를 출하함으로써 농가의 소득에 많은 기여를 하고 있다. 지금 우리 축산업 농가의 양돈업 기계화는 이미 실현되었으나 관리 자동화면에서 아직 많이 부족하다. 그 중에 하나가 바로 돼지의 무게 측정이다.   • In automotive industry, the studies about light weight vehicle and improving the productivity have been accomplished. For that, TRIP steel was developed and research for the laser welding process have been performed. In this study, the monitoring system using photodiode was developed for laser welding process of TRIP steel. With measuring light, neural network model for estimating bead width and tensile strength was made and weld quality classification algorithm was formulated with fuzzy inference method.

  • Life cycle assessment (LCA) on total sewage sludge treatment system from thickening to incineration and melting was performed for estimating global environmental impact as $CO_2$. In general, the life cycles of actual treatment facilities consist of construction, operation and dismantlement. In this study, the amount of $CO_2$ produced from both whole and each life cycle step of currently used unit sludge treatment processes were calculated by inventory analysis. In addition, in the all processes investigated in this study, individual $CO_2$ production unit (CPU), i.e. total produced $CO_2$ by treating a unit weight of sludge was also calculated. By using the CPU matrix of the unit processes, it was possible to simulate the $CO_2$ production for any type of complex-system as well as to trace a dominant cause of $CO_2$ production in each process. Four selected alternatives examined here, each involve the same disposal way but differ substantially in the $CO_2$ exhaust.

Estimation of Corn Growth by Radar Scatterometer Data

  • Ground-based polarimetric scatterometers have been effective tools to monitor the growth of crop with multi-polarization and frequencies and various incident angles. An important advantage of these systems that can be exploited is temporal observation of a specific crop target. Polarimetric backscatter data at L-, C- and X-bands were acquired every 10 minutes. We analyzed the relationships between L-, C- and X-band signatures, biophysical measurements over the whole corn growth period. The Vertical transmit and Vertical receive polarization (VV) backscattering coefficients for all bands were greater than those of the Horizontal transmit and Horizontal receive polarization (HH) until early-July, and then thereafter HH-polarization was greater than VV-polarization or Horizontal transmit and Vertical receive polarization (HV) until the harvesting stage (Day Of Year, DOY 240). The results of correlation analysis between the backscattering coefficients for all bands and corn growth data showed that L-band HH-polarization (L-HH) was the most suited for monitoring the fresh weight ($r=0.95^{***}$), dry weight ($r=0.95^{***}$), leaf area index ($r=0.86^{**}$), and vegetation water content ($r=0.93^{***}$). Retrieval equations were developed for estimating corn growth parameters using L-HH. The results indicated that L-HH could be used for estimating the vegetation biophysical parameters considered here with high accuracy. Those results can be useful in determining frequency and polarization of satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar stem and in designing a future ground-based microwave system for a long-term monitoring of corn.

ELISA를 이용한 cortisol 측정법의 정립 및 임상적 응용 (Development of ELISA for cortisol and it's application to clinical use)

  • ELISA kit for cortisol was developed and then evaluated. Polyclonal antihydrocortisone-3-(o-carboxymethyl)oxime BSA rabbit serum was used to coat the 96-well microplates. The minimum detection limit of the kit was 250pg of cortisol per milliliter. The within-run variation and the day to day variation of the ELISA system were 2.0 and 5.9 at maximum, respectively. The kit was used to determine whether salivary cortisol concentration could replace blood cortisol concentration in dexamathasone suppression test of dogs. Changes of cortisol concentration were measured in serum or saliva after intravenous administration of 0.01mg of dexamethasone per kilogram of body weight. Blood alone, saliva alone or both were collected at 0, 30, 60, 120, 240, and 360 minutes after injection of dexamethasone. The change in blood cortisol concentration was found to be suitable in dexamathasone suppression test of dogs, but the change in salivary cortisol concentration was not. The kit was also used to determine whether salivary cortisol concentration could be a stress index as well as blood cortisol concentration in dogs. Two types of trial were performed to estimate the stress either by blood or salivary cortisol concentration. The first trial was stress experiment by intravenous injection of 0.2IU of PZI-insulin per kilogram body weight. Either blood alone or saliva alone was collected at 0, 30, 60, and 90 minutes after insulin administration. Both blood and salivary cortisol concentration were found to be suitable index in estimating stress from hypoglycemia by injection of insulin. The second trial was stress experiment by electrical irritation. The dogs were irritated with anti-bark device for 10 seconds. Blood was collected before and at 2 and 5 minutes after electrical irritation. Saliva was collected before and at 3 and 6 minutes after electrical irritation. The blood cortisol concentration, but not the salivary cortisol concentration was found to be suitable index in estimating stress from electrical irritation. Cushing syndrome in a dog was also successfully diagnosed with this kit.

  • A literature survey has been reported of the systems analysis on the liquid rocket engines. The analysis tools are mainly about the calculation of the rocket engine performance at the early days. However recent trend shows that researchers try to develop an integrated environment of distributed analysis tools for faster and cheaper analysis. This article presents the systems analysis results of the liquid rocket engine of gas generator cycle using the published mass estimating model. The specific impulse change for various thrust to weight ratio agrees qualitatively well with the published data.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 컨테이너터미널의 생산성 향상을 위한 새로운 운영시스템 기술 도입에 따른 효과를 분석하는 것이다. 컨테이너터미널의 운영시스템은 종합관제시스템, 운영시스템, 계획시스템, IT기술 등의 크게 네가지 기능으로 분류하며, 총 19가지 신기술 대안을 선정하였다. 선정된 운영시스템 기술대안에 대한 현장 전문가에 대한 설문조사와 면담조사를 통하여 운영시스템 기술대안에 대한 중요도와 생산성 향상지수를 추정하고 생산성 향상 평가모형을 수립하였으며, 생산성 향상 평가모형을 이용하여 운영시스템 기술 도입에 따른 대안별 생산성 향상을 평가하였다. 새로운 운영시스템 도입시 생산성 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 할 경우에 사용가능한 방법을 제안한다.
