  • Recently, various studies related to ICT convergence have been made. Recently, various studies related to ICT convergence have been made. In the academic field, the demand for ICT convergence is on the rise. For example, Digital Humanities and Area Informatics are representative. Area Studies means to study the culture of a specific area in an integrated way. In this regard, researchers who specialize in researching overseas area generally use websites to obtain information related to the area. The Multilingual Mediterranean Web Service System(MMWS), which is operated by the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of Busan University of Foreign Studies is a web site that provides professional and general information to researchers or ordinary people studying in the Mediterranean area among overseas area. In this paper, we analyzeoverseas web sites the MMWS and discuss how to activate web sites based on the analysis results. In details, it analyze MMWS through log analysis and use Google Analytics, a log analysis system provided by Google for analysis. Also study how to use ICT convergence contents as a website activation method.

Use of the World Wide Web for Marketing Purpose : A Comparative St

  • Nowadays, both large and small business organizations have been using the Internet in general or the World Wide Web in particular to cope with the global competition. One of the major purposes that these business organizations utilizations utilize the World Wide Web is to support their marketing activities. In this study, we compared the uses of the World Wide Web, for supporting seven different categories of marketing activities, among three different groups of companies: the Top US corporation, the Top Non-US corporation, and the Top Web site groups. Results of the study showed that companies in the ToP US corporation and the ToP Non-US corporation groups primarily focused on Public Relation, while companies in the Top Web site group emphasized Encouragement. The Top US corporations also focused on the Interactive Brochure and the Top Web site companies were significantly different from the Top Non-US corporations with regard to Direct Sales and Customization. We discussed the potential reasons for these similarities and differences. The study also provided the extension for future research and discussed its limitations.

  • This study examines the communication status and strategies of geological resource related companies in Korea through the comparison with American companies. Through this analysis, this study is to draw the domestic companies' characteristics and problems on communication, and even to suggest how to execute the communication about geo-technologies at national level. The results indicate that geo-technologies related compaies in Korea don't use a lot of advertising communication as means of providing informations about corporate itself, corporate activities, and it's product, etc. And the companies using advertising communication tend to execute more organization advertising focusing on corporate image than product advertising. The advertising utilized by geological resource related companies is usually targeted at consumers, they don't use advertising endorser actively. And all the companies analyzed in this study have their own website and run it. This study provides some recommendations on communication strategies and executions for various geo-technologies related organizations. Web-site Management and Utilization Strategies for Family Farm Businesses (농촌형 가정기업의 웹사이트 관리실태와 활성화를 위한 제언)

  • The farming type in Korea is predominantly a small farm managed by family members. This study mainly examines the current usage of the website of family farms as a management tool for small farm business and discusses the strategies for effective utilization of the website. A county that currently employs governmental project of information system was purposely selected. Among all the websites operated by small farm businesses in that county, websites of which purpose is introduction of the business, advertisement, or e-business were included for analysis; it yielded total seven websites, The study was conducted with two phases; on-line website analysis and interview with business owners. The websites were analyzed based on four categories; content, interface, design, and site management. With regard to the content of the websites, the lack of connection between domain names and product names was found. Moreover, the problem relevant to site management was shown as low utilization of bulletin boards and delayed upload of new information. However, design and interface were comparatively well presented. Business owners reported that the motivation to initiate the websites was mostly supports from the governmental project for the agricultural information system. The barriers to effective management of websites were found i) business owner's misinterpretation of business website with e-business ii) very limited opportunity for website management education in small farm business, and iii) lack of regional infrastructure for information system. Based on the findings, this study suggests as followed; i) construction of infrastructure should be preceded to make effective management for websites; ii) education for website management should include small business management strategies as well as computer skills, iii) the education should be provided in diverse ways considering subject's characteristics iv) small farm business owners should be informed that their websites could play a role only to provide information about the products and hand over the practical load for e-business to retailing web sites such as portal shopping mall; and v) wives' participation should be encouraged.

  • Learning computational thinking is very important in programming education. Computational thinking refers to the problem solving ability based on the theories of computer science, indicating the importance of algorithm thinking. That is the reason for focusing on promoting creativity and improving the problem solving ability of the students in programming education. This paper commented the elements to consider for teachers when teaching computational thinking to elementary school students with online coding education website 'code.org' that helps beginners have easy programming experiences based on the characteristics of the website, and proposed the appropriate teaching methods.

  • Recently, to draw the web users' attention and stay in the website for a long time to transmit information efficiently, the website designing is focused on providing emotional experience. Emotional experience is possible through the use of interactive storytelling and multimedia. Users immersion, pleasurable experience and synesthesia satisfaction is connected to the emotional experience due to the interaction operation and multimedia feedback. In this study, application of the parallax scrolling technique's possibility has been studied to induce the emotional experience of the web users that appeared in the technical development of the web. Realizing characteristics of the elements that effect emotional experience through web cases are studied and the possibility of effective emotional experience is proposed as using parallax scrolling technique on web.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a model for a medical information website for public library use. Applying the six processes of website development - planning, analysis, design implementation, promotion, and innovation as a research methodology, seven medical information websites are analyzed. The evaluating criteria includes interface layout, contents, function aspects. Based on the results, a medical information website is implemented. This developing methodology will help nonprofessionals in the medical information area understand interface and domain Information.

  • The need for customized website design has been increased these days. There are two approaches for customizing website design. A Static/Selective approach is easily applied to website design, but is hard to provide a more refined customized service due to its lack of accumulation of customer data. In the Transparent/Adaptive approach, it is easy to apply an intrinsic value of customer, but without sufficient customer data, inappropriate customization is liable to occur. In this paper, directions such as "control of customer participation level", "collection of contextual information" and "development of filtering methods for design elements are suggested for the integrated use of these approaches. use of these approaches.

Machine Learning-based Phishing Website Detection Model (머신러닝 기반 피싱 사이트 탐지 모델)

  • Detecting the status of websites, normal or phishing, is necessary to defend against intelligent phishing attacks. We propose a machine learning-based classification to predict the status of websites. First, we collect information about 'URL', convert it into numerical data, and remove outliers. Second, we apply VIF(Variance Inflation Factors) to understand the correlation and independence between variables. Finally, we develop a phishing website detection model with machine learning-based classifications, which predicts website status. In the test datasets, Random Forest showed the best performance, with precision of 93.74%, recall of 92.26%, and accuracy of 93.14%. In the future, we expect to apply our model to detect various phishing crimes.
