As big data are one of main issues in the recent days, the interests on their technologies are also increasing. Among several technological bases, this study focuses on data visualization and R based on open source. In general, the term of data visualization can be summarized as the web technologies for constructing, manipulating and displaying various types of graphic objects in the interactive mode. R is an operating environment or a language for statistical data analysis from basic to advanced level. In this study, a web application with these technological aspects and components is newly implemented and exemplified with data visualization for geo-based open data provided by public organizations or government agencies. This application model does not need users' data building or proprietary software installation. Futhermore it is designed for users in the geo-spatial application field with less experiences and little knowledges about R. The results of data visualization by this application can support decision making process of web users accessible to this service. It is expected that the more practical and various applications with R-based geo-statistical analysis functions and complex operations linked to big data contribute to expanding the scope and the range of the geo-spatial application.

This study produced the parameter maps of the Modified Bartlett-Lewis Rectangular Pulse (MBLRP) stochastic rainfall generation model across South Korea and developed and validated the web application that automates the process of rainfall generation based on the produced parameter maps. To achieve this purpose, three deferent sets of parameters of the MBLRP model were estimated at 62 ground gage locations in South Korea depending on the distinct purpose of the synthetic rainfall time series to be used in hydrologic modeling (i.e. flood modeling, runoff modeling, and general purpose). The estimated parameters were spatially interpolated using the Ordinary Kriging method to produce the parameter maps across South Korea. Then, a web application has been developed to automate the process of synthetic rainfall generation based on the parameter maps. For validation, the synthetic rainfall time series has been created using the web application and then various rainfall statistics including mean, variance, autocorrelation, probability of zero rainfall, extreme rainfall, extreme flood, and runoff depth were calculated, then these values were compared to the ones based on the observed rainfall time series. The mean, variance, autocorrelation, and probability of zero rainfall of the synthetic rainfall were similar to the ones of the observed rainfall while the extreme rainfall and extreme flood value were smaller than the ones derived from the observed rainfall by the degree of 16%-40%. Lastly, the web application developed in this study automates the entire process of synthetic rainfall generation, so we expect the application to be used in a variety of hydrologic analysis needing rainfall data.

Recently, ASP business models based on Web services are attracting considerable attention and regarded as the next generation of the ASP business models. It is, however, undesirable for ASP users to adopt them simply because the Web services are the new trend in the IT world. Instead, an in-depth comparison of the benefits against the costs between the Web services based ASP business models and the traditional models are required. Furthermore, it is desirable that this comparative analysis should be applied from the ASP users' viewpoints rather than those of the government or ASP providers. So, we have applied a comparative ROI (Return on Investment) analysis from the ASP users' perspective and shown that the Web services based ASP business models (382%) are superior to the traditional models (280%) in terms of ROI. We have also employed Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework to keep the balance between tangible and intangible benefits considering the characteristics of IT value measurement.

For ease of use and access, web browsers are now being used to access and modify sensitive data and systems including critical control systems. Due to their computational capabilities and network connectivity, browsers are vulnerable to several types of attacks, even when fully updated. Browsers are also the main target of phishing attacks. Many browser attacks, including phishing, could be prevented or mitigated by using site-, user-, and device-specific security configurations. However, we discovered that all major browsers expose disparate security configuration procedures, option names, values, and semantics. This results in an extremely hard to secure web browsing ecosystem. We analyzed more than a 1000 browser security configuration options in three major browsers and found that only 13 configuration options had syntactic and semantic similarity, while 4 configuration options had semantic similarity, but not syntactic similarity. We: a) describe the results of our in-depth analysis of browser security configuration options; b) demonstrate the complexity of policy-based configuration of web browsers; c) describe a knowledge-based solution that would enable organizations to implement highly-granular and policy-level secure configurations for their information and operational technology browsing infrastructures at the enterprise scale; and d) argue for necessity of developing a common language and semantics for web browser configurations.

This study examined the main concepts of SOA and Web Services, and conducted technical analysis of major Web Services protocols such as SOAP, REST, SRW/U, and OAI-PMH that realize SOA, and suggested examples of SOAP and REST based Web Services establishments in foreign and domestic libraries respectively. In addition, it introduced application examples of Library 2.0 using Web 2.0 technology in foreign and domestic libraries and suggested how to apply SOA based Web Services protocol in Library 2.0. Finally, it proposed how to put Library 2.0 into practice applying meta-searching system integrating library OPAC, online bookstores, web portal sites and library union catalogs using REST based Open API.

This study was conducted to present useful information on the utilization and productivity analysis of laminated modular multi-family housing. To this end, the process of site installation was investigated and analyzed through a prior study, and the monitoring survey was conducted through the site installation case of an stacked multi-family housing. Based on the above, the results of productivity analysis using the web-cyclone technique were also presented. However, the site installation process has limitations on generalisation because the process is not the same for each construction company, and also limits that require verification through application in the actual site of the web-cyclone model presented in this study.

Web servers or web application servers, in general, adopt multi-thread model for efficient handling of many user requests. However, the multi -thread model always does not show the better performance than multi -process model. Sometimes, in a certain specific case, it can show worse performance than multi -process model. In this paper, to trace the cause of the decreased performance of multi -thread model, we experiment and analyze the performance of the multi-thread model by using two approaches. At first, we compare the performance of the multi-process model and multi-thread model for various application environments. Second, we observe the effects of variations of web server's dynamic directives, which are used to increase the flexibility of the web server for various system environments. For the experiments, we integrated a web client simulator, which was written by us, with the Apache 2.0 web server. This paper shows and analyze the results of the experiments.

This paper analyzes if the rapidly increasing cyber universities' remote education provides services based on web accessibility standard and suggest the direction to reduce information difference between people. It selected 10 cyber universities recognized by the government and analyzed the application situation of the web accessibility using' A-Prompt', an evaluation and analysis tool for web accessibility focusing on factors that can be evaluated technically. It also compared it with $\ulcorner$cyber universities remote education web accessibility result$\lrcorner$ performed in 2006 to confirm if the accessibility is improved according to 'web contents accessibility instruction (KWCAG) 1.0. The result shows that the items such as the use of text and the support of supplementary explanation tool have improved. But it was analyzed that it is difficult for people to use web contents provided by domestic cyber universities. So the educational contents' accessibility application must be considered to solve such problems and publicize the remote education.

Web service Technology has been developing rapidly as it provides a flexible application-to-application interaction mechanism. Several ongoing research efforts focus on various aspects of Web service technology, including the modeling, specification, discovery, composition and verification of Web services. The approaches advocated are often conflicting-based as they are differing expectations on the current status of Web services as well as differing models of their future evolution. One way of deciding the relative relevance of the various research directions is to look at their applicability to the currently available Web services. To this end, we conducted a survey on currently publicly available Web service repositories. Our aim is to get an idea of the number, complexity and composability of these Web services and see if this analysis provides useful information about the near-term fruitful research directions.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of mathematics learning program using web or application for the development of adaptive mathematics learning program. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for middle school students. The results of the 290 responses were analyzed to identify students' needs for adaptive mathematics learning. As a result, learners wanted functions to design their own learning and to support self-directed learning. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for the development of a adaptive mathematics learning program reflecting students' needs.
