With advancement of computer and network, world wide web(WWW) as a medium of information communication is generalized in many fields. In educational aspect, applications of WWW as alternative media for class teachings or printed matters are increasing. In this article, we demonstrate a web-based electronic text on the 'probability and statistics' which is one of six fields of mathematics in the 7th curriculum. This text places importance on comprehension of concepts of probability and statistics as an applied science.

Purpose: The purpose of this project was to develop an international web-based expert system using principals of artificial intelligence and user-centered design for management of mental health by Korean emigrants. Using this system, anyone can access the system via computer access to the web. Methods: Our design process utilized principles of user-centered design with 4 phases: needs assessment, analysis, design/development/testing, and application release. A survey was done with 3,235 Korean emigrants. Focus group interviews were also conducted. Survey and analysis results guided the design of the web-based expert system. Results: With this system, anyone can check their mental health status by themselves using a personal computer. The system analyzes facts based on answers to automated questions, and suggests solutions accordingly. A history tracking mechanism enables monitoring and future analysis. In addition, this system will include intervention programs to promote mental health status. Conclusion: This system is interactive and accessible to anyone in the world. It is expected that this management system will contribute to Korean emigrants' mental health promotion and allow researchers and professionals to share information on mental health.

Electronic learning(or e-learning) has created hype for companies, universities, and other educational institutions. It has led to the phenomenal growth in the use of web-based learning and experimentation with multimedia, video conferencing, and internet-based technologies. Many researchers are interested in the factors that affect to the performance of e-learning or e-learning services. In this sense, this study is aimed at proposing e-learning system reuse prediction models in which e-learner intention to reuse influence factors(i.e., system accessibility, system stability, information clarity, information validity, self-regulated efficacy, computer self-efficacy, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, flow, and parental expectation) affect e-learner intention to reuse positively. A web survey was conducted for the full members of the e-learning education institute A in Seoul, Republic of Korea, an exclusive e-learning company that provides real time video lectures via the desktop conferencing system. The web survey was conducted for 20 days from November 5, 2009, through the e-learning web site of the company A. In this study, three data mining techniques were used : the multivariate discriminant analysis, CART, and C5.0 algorithm. This study was conducted to provide the e-learning service providers, e-learning operators, and contents developers with marketing and management strategies for improving the e-learning service companies, based on the data mining analysis results.

In recent decades, the growth of communication technology has resulted in an explosion of data-related information. Ontology perception is being used as a growing requirement to integrate data and unique functionalities. Ontologies are not only critical for transforming the traditional web into the semantic web but also for the development of intelligent applications that use semantic enrichment and machine learning to transform data into smart data. To address these unclear facts, several researchers have been focused on expanding ontologies and semantic web technologies. Due to the lack of clear-cut limitations, ontologies would not suffice to deliver uncertain information among domain ideas, conceptual formalism supplied by traditional. To deal with this ambiguity, it is suggested that fuzzy ontologies should be used. It employs Ontology to introduce fuzzy logical policies for ambiguous area concepts such as darkness, heat, thickness, creaminess, and so on in a device-readable and compatible format. This survey efforts to provide a brief and conveniently understandable study of the research directions taken in the domain of ontology to deal with fuzzy information; reconcile various definitions observed in scientific literature, and identify some of the domain's future research-challenging scenarios. This work is hoping that this evaluation can be treasured by fuzzy ontology scholars. This paper concludes by the way of reviewing present research and stating research gaps for buddy researchers.

As scenario-based design is expanded to various fields of design, it is introduced to HCI(Human Computer Interaction) in order to figure out user information & tasks. However, scenario based design methods that is focused on collecting scenarios regarding users'needs, is mainly utilized conceptual design stage for system itself. There is a gap between users'need scenarios to interface design of HCI system. In this study, web survey is suggested as scenario based interface design method in order to connect scenario collecting to task specification and to menu structure design of home-network controller. The degree of users'need for specified tasks was verified to various kinds of users through web survey and it decideddepth and order of menu structure. Tasks also was categorized to situation mode and users can make their own menu structure by selecting menu contents or even mode itself, because degrees of need for specified task situation were varied by lifestyle of user group. Finally, it is found that web survey method can be applied to collect and database various scenarios of. various users when a questionnaire is well designed for collection.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the residents' awareness toward the differentiation of design factors in apartments in order to offer the information helpful to housing designers. Documentary research and questionnaire survey methods were used in this study. In this survey, internet web survey was carried out using questionnaire tool that was extracted in the Preliminary survey. This web survey was carried out on 124 housewives from January 6 2004 to January 20 2004. Data were analyzed with the SPSS PC+ window version 11.0. The major results of this study are as follows. 1) Residents' educational level is high and they are so young nuclear family and they live in Seoul and metropolitan area. 2) They want 85$m^2$ type apartment and the dress room that is so large. 3) Although they have evaluate very Important factors to architectural design which are apartment plan design, space design, interior design, storage design, equipment and high-tech system design, it seems that they are interested in interior design among the design factors in apartments. 4) There is significant difference the evaluation of importance toward the differentiation of design factors in apartments according to housing size when they move to go.

Recent use of digital video contents increases visual fatigue of users. As a result, it has been difficult that the existing video methods make users focus on the content with interest and deliver stories intended by contents producers. Parallax scrolling is getting the spotlight as a new way which are keeping the fluent visual advantages of video and help users maintaining their attention with simple maneuver. In this study, based on a survey, it would compare the user experience in an existing video in Web contents and parallax scrolling Web contents. As a result, it showed that using the parallax scrolling Web sites improve user sensibilities such as aesthetic, novelty and pleasure of user experiences. A remarkable thing is that users replied parallax scrolling is not much comfortable to use. According to the result, researchers suggest that using parallax scrolling in Web site needs thoughtful decision in making and managing of Web contents.

The purpose of this study is to show a case integration of web programming with database using Visual InterDev as a conceptual client and Web Server as server, Through this case study, we can see how easily dynamic web database programming used in Internet and Interanet can be developed in one integrated design environment such as Visual InterDev eliminating the inconvenience of developing database file and web page separately. Some literature survey and experimental practices were done to provide future developers with the principles and methodologies of developing web database programing using Visual InterDev with much less coding efforts and more convenient and easy way compared to other web developing tools.

This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.

This study examined the perception and use of web 2.0 applications for academic purposes by medical students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. The objective was to investigate the medical students' perceptions of web 2.0 applications, web 2.0 tools use, extent of use, perception and purpose for using web 2.0 applications. Descriptive survey method was used for this study. The total population of this study was 3670 and the sample size was 367 representing 10% of the study. The purposive sampling technique was adopted, and the instrument used for this study was questionnaire, a total of 367 copies were administered and 321 were found useful for the study. Percentage means and standard deviation on table and chart were used to analyze the data collected using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Findings showed that the perception of web 2.0 applications of medical students AAU was positive and few of web 2.0 applications were used for academic purposes. It was recommended in the study that medical students should be provided with the facilities in a format more familiar to them and used by most of them and institutions need to equip the learning process with the needed facilities which will be of utmost benefit even for future purposes.
