  • In order to support the mission of the institution in which they are attached, academic libraries provide services in both manual and digital but COVID -19 pandemic that spanned between March and September, 2020 has changed the scenario. With particular reference to Nigeria, about 249,606 cases were confirmed and in order to curb the scourge of this deadly disease, physical academic activities were prevented by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). With this development, innovative tools became indispensable tools for successful delivery of library services in Nigerian academic libraries. Whether or not these tools are still in use for reformation of library service during post- Covid era remains unclear, hence, need for this study. This study examined librarians' use of innovative tools for information dissemination in Nigerian academic libraries during the post-Covid era using a descriptive survey design. Data were obtained both in quantitative and qualitative formats from one hundred and forty-four librarians as respondents. A total enumeration sampling technique was adopted because the population was minimal. Findings of the study revealed that innovative tools such as videoconferencing, WhatsApp, teleconferencing, Facebook, LinkedIn, and web-based learning applications are still in use by librarians for the dissemination of information during the post-Covid era. These tools are useful and beneficial to librarians during the post-COVID era, as they facilitate easy participation and engagement of library users in various discussions. Inadequate funding and lack of advanced technology skills were also identified as major impediments to the successful use of innovative tools for information dissemination. As a result, it was suggested that academic libraries throughout Nigeria prioritize staff training on the necessary digital skills needed to cope in this advanced technology era.

  • In various fields such as art, design, music, film, sports, games, and fashion, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are creating new economic value through trading platforms dedicated to NFT art and content. In this article, I analyze the current state of blockchain technology and NFT art content in the context of an expanding market for blockchain-based NFT art content in the metaverse. I also propose several tasks based on the economic and industrial logic of technological innovation. The first task proposed is to integrate cultural arts on blockchain, metaverse, and NFT platforms through digital innovation, instead of separating or distinguishing between creative production and consumption. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a clear separation between creators and consumers. However, with the rise of Web 3.0 platforms, any user can now create and own their own content. Therefore, it is important to promote a collaborative and integrated approach to cultural arts production and consumption in the blockchain and metaverse ecosystem. The second task proposed is to align the legal framework with blockchain-based technological innovation. The enactment and revision of relevant laws should focus on promoting the development of the NFT trading platform ecosystem, rather than merely regulating it for user protection. As blockchain-based technology continues to evolve, it is important that legal systems adapt to support and promote innovation in the space. This shift in focus can help create a more conducive environment for the growth of blockchain-based NFT platforms. The third task proposed is to integrate education on digital arts, including metaverse and NFT art contents, into the current curriculum. This education should focus on convergence and consilience, rather than merely mixing together humanities, technology, and arts. By integrating digital arts education into the curriculum, students can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential of blockchain-based technologies and NFT art. This article examines the digital technological innovation such as blockchain, metaverse, and NFT from an economic and industrial point of view. As a limitation of this research, the critical mind such as philosophical thinking or social criticism on technological innovation is left as a future task.

  • Standardization or standard-related study are regarded as main issues in GIS applications. Though several GIS standards and specifications have been released, there are a few actual application cases adapting those. In this study, we designed and implemented a geo-spatial information processing system with editing, storing, and disseminating functions, in which standard GIS transportation data model by TTA linked with OGC-GML, XML-based geographic features encoding standard. The system developed in this study enables us to transfer and edit transportation entities based on TTA standards to GML, importing ESRI shapefile. In web-based system, GML-based databases are transformed to SVG file, for the purpose of web publishing. TTA GIS transportation data model is used in this study, and tested; however, standard data models from other application fields also can be easily applied because this system basically provides data importing and editing functions. This system as practical tools can be utilized for applicability test of GIS standard data model and practical operation of standard specification.

  • Purpose - Mobile devices, especially mobile terminals capable of telecommunication and wireless connectivity, are leading the advancements in consumer electronics. Digital convergence drives the functions of various devices, such as cellular phones, MP3 players, personal digital assistants, and gaming, into a single device. This trend would continue and applications such as digital audio and video streaming (including personalized content delivery mechanisms) would soon be on a handheld device. As customers want mobile convergence devices, manufacturers are driving new initiatives in the emerging mobile device market. Given the roles played by device design and service content in user satisfaction of a mobile convergence device, this study focuses on identifying and measuring the constructs for the process by which user satisfaction is achieved. This study synthesizes the expectation-disconfirmation paradigm with empirical theories in user satisfaction. Device and service levels are separated, and nine key constructs for user satisfaction of mobile convergence devices are proposed. Insight into this process could help web-based businesses to improve user satisfaction, thus enhancing the effectiveness of e-commerce for sellers and buyers. Research design, data, methodology - This study draws on three users of mobile convergence devices as examples. To test there search model and hypotheses, survey questionnaires were sent to 607 mobile device users. Mobile device users were initially identified from several members, and subjects were randomly drawn. Data from 577 survey responses were finally analyzed. The unit of measurement and analysis in this research study is at a personal level. Results - The measurements for the constructs were developed and tested in a two-phase study. In the first phase, the device and service dimensions were identified, and instruments for measuring them were developed and tested. In the second phase, using the salient dimensions of the device and service as the formulating first-order factors, instruments were developed and empirically tested to measure satisfaction of the device and service. In measuring satisfaction of mobile convergence devices, the critical tasks are to identify the key constructs of such user satisfaction and to develop validated instruments to measure them. Hence, the results of this study have immediate implications for businesses and for research in user satisfaction of mobile convergence devices. Conclusions - This study provides reliable instruments for operationalizing key constructs in the analysis of user satisfaction of mobile convergence devices within the expectation-disconfirmation paradigm. Hence, convergence device makers will be able to examine whether their websites meet their customers' expectations by examining the device aspect of the mobile convergence device customers, and the service aspect expectations and disconfirmation. • Last days, various kinds of applications and system were individually introduced into specific groups or enterprises by different objective without considering interoperability among those. However, the environment for data processing is changing rapidly in these days. And now the necessity is growing to integrate and couple applications and system in the process dimension for more flexible and quicker data processing on these application programs and system. When integrating these application programs or system, an integration based on XML is recommended as it is one of good methods which will the additional cost and satisfy the requirements of the integration. This is because the XML is not only device-independent data type which can be used any platform, but also it uses XSLT, the document conversion standard established by W3C, which allows easy data conversion from one to another type on occasion of demands. This paper studies a design and implementation of system to convert XML structure. This system shows the structure of source- side providing data and destination-side processing data with using XML schema that defines structural information of a XML document. And this system defines the structure relationship of desired form as mapping structural information and data. This system creates the XSLT document that defines conversion rule between two structures based information which is defined. The XSLT document which is created as described above will convert data to be appropriate to the structure of the destination- side. By implementing this system, it is able to apply a document into various kinds of structure without considering specific system or platform and it is able to construct XSLT document to which meaning of desired form can be given. This paper aims to offer a process conversion between documents and to improve interoperability and scalability, so that we can contribute to build XML document processing environment

  • BPEL is a standard workflow language, which interacts with Web Services and is used in various applications. But it is difficult to use BPEL for specific applications which require additional functions. In this paper, we present a system which can add new functions to BPEL based on an aspect-oriented programming (AOP) technique. In order to add new functions to BPEL, we define a JWX document format that can describe new functions to apply to BPEL. JWX is XML-oriented document that can code the corresponding Java program in order to dynamically add new functions to BPEL documents. It is possible for BPEL workflow to add new functions without modifying the existing programs using the AOP technique, which guarantees low degree of coupling between key and additional requirements. Additionally this systems weaves based on new functions of Java program and JWX document by expanding BPEL engine called B2J based on AOP and execute them. Therefore it is possible to develop a new BPEL engine with additional functions easily and with low cost. The new system can execute additional conditions that the current BPEL engine doesn’t provide. The new system using functions of BPEL supplied by B2J. The new system can be used to add a new rule engine, which isn't currently provided.
