A Comparison of Data Extraction Techniques and an Implementation of Data Extraction Technique using Index DB -S Bank Case- (원천 시스템 환경을 고려한 데이터 추출 방식의 비교 및 Index DB를 이용한 추출 방식의 구현 -ㅅ 은행 사례를 중심으로-)

  • Previous research on data extraction and integration for data warehousing has concentrated mainly on the relational DBMS or partly on the object-oriented DBMS. Mostly, it describes issues related with the change data (deltas) capture and the incremental update by using the triggering technique of active database systems. But, little attention has been paid to data extraction approaches from other types of source systems like hierarchical DBMS, etc. and from source systems without triggering capability. This paper argues, from the practical point of view, that we need to consider not only the types of information sources and capabilities of ETT tools but also other factors of source systems such as operational characteristics (i.e., whether they support DBMS log, user log or no log, timestamp), and DBMS characteristics (i.e., whether they have the triggering capability or not, etc), in order to find out appropriate data extraction techniques that could be applied to different source systems. Having applied several different data extraction techniques (e.g., DBMS log, user log, triggering, timestamp-based extraction, file comparison) to S bank's source systems (e.g., IMS, DB2, ORACLE, and SAM file), we discovered that data extraction techniques available in a commercial ETT tool do not completely support data extraction from the DBMS log of IMS system. For such IMS systems, a new date extraction technique is proposed which first creates Index database and then updates the data warehouse using the Index database. We illustrates this technique using an example application.

Solving a New Multi-Period Multi-Objective Multi-Product Aggregate Production Planning Problem Using Fuzzy Goal Programming

  • This paper introduces a new multi-product multi-period multi-objective aggregate production planning problem. The proposed problem is modeled using multi-objective mixed-integer mathematical programming. Three objective functions, including minimizing total cost, maximizing customer services level, and maximizing the quality of end-product, are considered, simultaneously. Several constraints such as quantity of production, available time, work force levels, inventory levels, backordering levels, machine capacity, warehouse space and available budget are also considered. Some parameters of the proposed model are assumed to be qualitative and modeled using fuzzy sets. Then, a fuzzy goal programming approach is proposed to solve the model. The proposed approach is applied on a real-world industrial case study of a color and resin production company called Teiph-Saipa. The approach is coded using LINGO software. The efficacy and applicability of the proposed approach are illustrated in the case study. The results of proposed approach are compared with those of the existing experimental methods used in the company. The relative dominance of the proposed approach is revealed in comparison with the experimental method. Finally, a data dictionary, including the way of gathering data for running the model, is proposed in order to facilitate the re-implementation of the model for future development and case studies.

  • RFID/USN 은 유비쿼터스 사회의 중요한 기반 인프라로서 고려되고 있다. 또한 다양한 연구를 통해 실용적인 접목이 시도 되고 있다. 특히 물류 시스템에서 물류의 입출 재고와 상태 관리를 위한 연구가 진행 중에 있으며 이는 물품 보관 단위인 파렛트(Pallet) 에 RFID 태그를 부착하여 입/출고시의 물품을 식별하고, Zigbee 무선 통신기능을 가진 센서 모듈에 의해 물품의 환경 상태 정보를 파악하는 형태로 이루어진다. 본 논문은 RFID/ USN 기반의 창고 상태 관리 시스템에서 상태정보 습득 과정의 보안적용을 위한 시스템을 구성을 주된 목적으로 한다. 부가적으로 상태정보 습득에 사용되는 이동형 단말장치의 기능에 대해서 제안한다. 창고 내에 배치되는 RFID 와 센서노드간의 적용 관계 또한 정의한다. 결과적으로 본 논문은 의사판단의 주체인 현장 관리자에 적절한 제어 정보의 제공과 센서의 동작을 제어하기 위한 RFID tag 보안 접근, 그리고 센서 노드 자체의 생존성 이라는 세 가지 관점의 절충점을 찾기 위한 시도로서 설계하였다.

A Study on the Navigation Control of Automated Guided Vehicle using Color Line Search (Color Line 탐색을 이용한 AGV의 주행제어에 관한 연구)

  • There are active researches on automated guided vehicles(AGV) generally used in flexible manufacturing system(FMS) or automated warehouse systems(AWS). Because existing AGV uses magnetic tapes, electric wire, RF or laser as guidelines, its installation and modification require a lot of money and time. The present study implemented AGV that detects paths marked with 50mm Yellow tape using a mono-color CCD camera. Because it uses color tape, it is easy and inexpensive to install and change lines. This study presented the structure of the developed AGV, the image Processing technique for detecting guidelines by ing the characteristics of color, and the result of operating AGV.

The Effects on Logistics Production with reference to Personality Type in Logistics Workforce (물류 종사자의 성격유형이 물류생산에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to increase the productivity of the logistics center and transportation, we try to articulate the priority ranking factors of the productivity influenced by the personality of the field workers (logistics center workers) and functional workers (drivers) via the AHP technique Individual personality was studied by applying the Big 5 model of psychological factors (openness, Conscientiousness, extroversion, Agreeableness, neuroticism). In this paper, extraversion was critically analyzed as a priority factor. A trait of extroversion is a strongly active and individual personality. In this study, the field workers are logistics center workers and the functional workers are drivers. They are interactively influenced in the In & Out operation. For example, when it comes to 'up and down work' and 'inspection work', the functional workers perform 'up and down work' and 'delivery work' and the field workers perform 'inspection work'. Stressing on the respective work has an affect on work productivity. Inspection workforce has something to do with inventory management. Functional workforce affects the delivery workforce. Delivery work is positively correlated with customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, as a result of research, extrovert personality that has something to do with an energetic activity would not affect on the implementation of their operation. In addition, personal extraversion of workers and drivers in the warehouse can have a significant impact on job commitment and productivity improvement.

  • Logistics companies distinguish between medium-sized business and small business according to the size of enterprises. Of course, conglomerates are called global corporations. In this study, mid-sized companies over a certain size or more and those below are classified and decide the priorities among important factors to secure competitiveness in logistics companies are determined through AHP technique. Mid-sized companies are companies that can provide more than two logistics services. For example, they provide warehousing and transportation services in the same time. small companies are companies that can mostly provide one functional service. Warehousing, transportation, manpower, and information are listed as factors in this study. As a result of the study, medium-sized companies emphasized on the importance of transportation. When it comes to small companies, warehousing was emphasized as an important factor. Due to the simultaneous and contemporary service of warehousing and transportation in small-sized company, the reliable image of the company will be underestimated in case of delays in transportation. Competitiveness will also be weakened. Global corporations or conglomerates will start to consider relocating warehousing areas to others except for the central storage hub. They won't plan to invest directly, either. Therefore, it will be possible to secure competitiveness by providing the function of warehousing and to signed easily partnership.

  • 원자력발전 산업은 국내 최대의 전력공급원으로서 '09년 현재 20기의 원전이 가동 중에 있고 8기의 원전이 건설 중이다. 또한 수출주도형 독자노형 개발을 목적으로 한 원전 설계 개발 사업도 진행되고 있다. 국가 기반산업이기도 한 원자력 산업에는 다양한 정보관리시스템들이 운영되고 있으며 지속적인 개선이 이루어지고 있다. 원자력발전소는 60년에 이르는 긴 수명주기를 가지고 있기 때문에 설계 단계에서부터 생산되는 정보를 관리할 수 있는 체계적인 방법이 필요하며, 산업 특성상 다양한 참여기관들이 상호 협업을 진행할 수 있는 통합 창구 역할의 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 원자력발전소의 정보관리시스템 개발을 위해 신규원전 사업자에게 요구되는 EPRI URD 요건 및 실제 원전 설계개발 사업에서의 시스템 요구사항 등을 분석하여, 원자력발전소의 원전 정보관리시스템 개발요건을 도출하였으며 ISO 10303 국제표준 기술을 활용한 일부 시스템 프로토타입 구현을 통한 예비 타당성 평가를 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 원전 산업에 국제표준 도입 가능성은 확인하였으나, 국제표준 개발이 아직 진행 중인 점을 고려할 때 실제 원전 적용을 위해서는 향후 추가 연구가 필요하다.

Comparing Various Types of Stacking Methods Considering Relocations (적재형태별 재취급을 고려한 기대취급횟수 비교)

  • When unit loads are stacked in multiple tiers, as the number of tiers increases, the space consumption per unit load decreases; at the same time, the number of relocations during retrieval operations increases. This study derives formulas fur estimating the expected number of relocations for retrieving a random unit load from various types of stacks with different combinations of the number of rows, the number of columns, and the number of tiers. Based on the derived formulas, the handling cost and the space cost of the different types of stacks are compared with each other.

Explanation-Based Data Mining in Data Warehouse (데이터웨어하우스 환경에서의 설명기반 데이터마이닝)

  • 산업계 전반에 걸친 오랜 정보시스템 운용의 결과로 대용량의 데이터들이 축적되고 있다. 이러한 데이터로부터 유용한 지식을 추출하기 위해 여러 가지 데이터마이닝 기법들이 연구되어 왔다. 특히 데이터웨어하우스의 등장은 이러한 데이터마이닝에 있어 필요한 데이터 제공 환경을 주고 있다. 그러나 전문가의 적절한 판단과 해석을 거치지 않은 데이터마이닝의 결과는 당연한 사실이거나, 사실과 다른 가짜이거나 또한 관련성 없는(Trivial, Spurious and Irrelevant) 내용만 무수히 쏟아낼 수 있다. 그러므로 데이터마이닝의 결과가 비록 통계적 유의성을 가진다 하더라고 그 정당성과 유용성에 대한 검증과정과 방법론의 정립이 필요하다. 데이터마이닝의 가장 어려운 점은 귀납적 오류를 없애기 위해 사람이 직접 그 결과를 해석하고 판단하며 아울러 새로운 탐색 방향을 제시해야 한다는 것이다. 본 논문의 목적인 이러한 데이터마이닝에서 추출된 결과를 검증하고 아울러 새로운 지식 탐색 방향을 제시하는 방법론을 정립하는데 있다. 본 논문에서는 데이터마이닝 기법 중 연관규칙탐사(Associations)로 얻어진 결과를 설명가능성 여부의 판단을 통해 검증하는 기법을 제안하였고, 이를 위해 도메인 지식(Domain Knowledge)과 연관규칙탐사를 통해 얻어진 결과를 표현하기 위한 지식표현방법으로 관계형 술어논리(RPL : Relational Predicate Logic)를 개발하였다. 연관규칙탐사로 얻어진 결과를 설명하기 위한 방법으로는 연관규칙탐사로 얻어진 연관규칙에 대한 RPL로 표현된 도메인 지식으로서 설명됨을 보이게 한다. 또한 이러한 설명(Explanation)을 토대로 검증된 지식을 일반화하여 새로운 가설을 연역적으로 생성하고 이를 연관규칙탐사를 통해 검증한 후 새로운 지식을 얻는 설명기반 데이터마이닝 구조(Explanation-based Data Mining Architecture)를 제시하였다.

  • Recently as the efficiency of meal area in the neighborhood facilities has decreased, the user is not satisfied about the existing meal area quality. There are problems due to crucial administration due to ineffective use of the meal area and the in-charge. So, a new meal system is coming up with one meal form at one place with time wise classification to satisfy the users and owner. In this plan, the meal area at basement 1 of Korea Advertisement Culture Hall is not just the existing meal area but in day it is a restaurant, at night a vacant hall and in the weekend it is a banquet hall. Such a premium meal area designed by developing the meal area that has different usage as per time slot is named as "M-KITCHEN" and we intend to plan in such a way. The complete "M-KITCHEN"consists largely of entrance/ exit, food distribution area, eating area, specialized restaurant, rest area, kitchen, warehouse etc. This area consists again of multimedia street entrance "M-street", food distribution area "M-kitchen", meal area "M-place", "M-plaza", "Wall pond", "Layer deck", specialized restaurant "M-china", "M-shushi", rest area "Gardening".
