  • Mobile Internet has different platform cause interrupt activation of mobile internet because contents providers have each different development environment. To use of WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability) developer by KWISF(Korea Wireless Internet Standard Forum) founded to solve this problem guarantee independence of hardware and interpretation of mobile application. In this paper, we research method to activate WIPI which is standard platform to develop applications easily and efficiently in mobile environment and we implement WIPI application to show the excellent of WIPI in mobile development environment.

  • In this paper, we have designed a home network system based on WIPI. WIPI (Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability) is the standard specification for the mobile platform made by the Mobile Platform Special subcommittee of the Korea Wireless Internet Standardization Forum(KWISP). The system consists of three parts - a server, client, and simulator, and all parts are developed with JAVA. People can control household appliances anytime, anywhere by using cell phones which can use the wireless Internet, so the system offers convenience to people.

  • As the wireless internet applications are spreading more fast and the mobile devices are being used increasingly, it has recently been activated to develop a variety of contents for mobile service. Mobile services can be enjoyable whenever and wherever on would like to. They became so universal that they might reach all the area where the wire has never approached before. This study is to suggest a mobile game system based on the technology called WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability), which can be easily available to anyone who would like to enjoy it. Game contents to use WIPI can allow the mobile carriers to provide users to download the common mobile application throughout the wireless web by sharing the internet platform. This can eventually lead to the generalization of transforming west game contents into WIPI-based. Therefore, the market of WIPI-based game contents will be expected to grow at high speed and its significance deserves to be considered for commercialization.

  • The Large amounts of data were available to transfer on mobile environment in the development of mobile telecommunications technology. And WIPI(Wireless Internet Protocol for Interoperability) platform is being mounted obligations to develope mobile application services. The applications developed on WIPI platform is possible to interoperability on mobile mounted WIPI platform, so there are not demand on mobile device. Currently e-commerce service is actively on mobile environment. This service is offerd based on XML Signature(eXtensible Markup Language) which provide integrity, message authentication, and/or signer authentication services for data of any type, whether located within the XML that includes the signature or elsewhere. In this paper, we designed and implemented XML Signature service module which possible interoperability on mobile mounted WIPI platform.

  • For avoiding the waste of costs for building each mobile platform according to each mobile communication vender, KWISF proposed WIPI platform standard. Already the venders are providing mobile map services which are adapted on their own platforms. Because the integration of various mobile platform was performed to WIPI standard, the changes of platform and component API may cause the environment changes of mobile nap services. This study shows the design and implementation results of mobile map services adapted to WPI environments.

  • We developed the CNU nt emulator which is an development environment for WIPI applications, wireless Internet applications for cellular phones with the WIPI software platform. The CNU WIPI emulator provides stable memory management and ability of installing, executing, deleting or managing WIPI applications. WIPI WAM provides quick execution of applications and convenient debugging function. In this paper, we describe the design, implementation issues of the CNU WIPI emulator and show its correctness of executing and performance improvement over $25\%$ by comparing it with other WIPI emulators.

  • In this paper, we propose a specification-based intrusion detection system for WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability). In proposing the system, we focused on providing lightweight code, supporting multiple languages and hardware independence. The proposed system is based on an algorithm which detects an intrusion to main API of WIPI-HAL(Handset Adaptation Layer) and defines the prototype of mIDS(mobile IDS) API group that it can be added on the HAL. Moreover, we prove apply possibility through a WIPI emulator using java library.

  • 1999 년부터 상용화된 무선 인터넷 서비스는 국내의 경우 이동통신 3 사가 각기 독자적인 통신 기법 및 서비스 체제를 가지고 있었다. 이로 인하여 서로 다른 이동통신사의 무선 단말기 플랫폼들은 상호 호환성(interoperability)이 없었다. 이러한 비호환성은 단말기 제조업체나 컨텐츠 제작 업체에게 기술적인 어려움은 물론이고 비용적인 측면에서 여러 가지 문제점을 낳았다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자 2002 년부터 WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability)라는 표준화된 무선 인터넷 플랫폼의 개발이 시작되어 현재는 WIPI 2.0 을 탑재한 무선 단말기가 출시된 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 WIPI 플랫폼이 탑재된 무선 단말기가 유료화된 컨텐츠를 다운로드 하여 사용할 수 있도록 해주는 다운로드 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대해서 기술한다. 이를 위해 컨텐츠 다운로드 프로토콜, 최적화된 컨텐츠의 결정기법, 그리고 COD(Compile On Demand)를 이용한 네이티브 코드 적용 기법에 대해 설명한다.

  • The present study analyzes the social equilibrium of wireless internet platform market before and after the adoption of WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability). When market prevails operator ownership, as opposed to manufacturer ownership, with heterogenous platforms becomes a more likely and desirable solution. After the adoption of WIPI, social equilibrium is achieved only if operators perceive that the cost reduction and the interoperability effects from investing in WIPI fully offset the appropriation effect from investing in heterogenous platforms.
