Hydroulics and Hydrology Analysis of Sihwa Lake Considering Operating Condition of Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station (시화조력발전소 운영조건을 고려한 시화호 수리수문분석)

  • 시화호는 1994년에 완공된 인공호수로, 완공 이후 심각한 오염에 직면하여 방조제 건설 후 4년째인 1998년부터 바닷물을 일부 유통하기 시작하여 2001년 10월부터 해수의 상시 유통이 확정되었다. 또한, 시화호 조력발전소는 2011년 11월에 착공되어 본격적인 전력생산에 들어 갔으며, 2018년 1월 현재 전력공급량은 29억kWh를 달성하였다. 시화호는 환경적 오염으로 인하여 많은 문제가 야기된 곳이기 때문에 환경적 또는 재해적인 검토를 통한 기초자료의 분석 및 공개는 필수적이라 판단된다. 이러한 목적 하에 수행된 시화호 수리수문 해석결과, 시화호 수리특성은 시화호 조력발전소 운영조건과 시화화 유입하천에 의해 결정되는데, 시화호 조력발전소 관리수위 조건 하에서 고조위는 -1.5m~-0.94m의 분포를, 제한수위 조건하에서 -0.76~0.48m의 분포를 보인다. 또한, 장기하상변동 결과는 수로 부근은 침식이, 그 외의 구간은 퇴적이 우세하게 나타났다. 이러한 결과로, 시화호는 내측으로 갈수록 재해적 환경적으로 불리한 지역임이 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents a simple and cost-effective stand-alone rapid battery charging system of 30kW for electric vehicles. The proposed system mainly consists of active front-end rectifier of neutral point clamped 3-level type and non-isolated bi-directional dc-dc converter of multi-phase interleaved half-bridge topology. The charging system is designed to operate for both lithium-polymer and lithium-ion batteries. The complete charging sequence is made up of three sub-interval operating modes; pre-charge mode, constant-current mode, and constant-voltage mode. The pre-charge mode employs the stair-case shaped current profile to accomplish shorter charging time while maintaining the reliable operation of the battery. The proposed system is specified to reach the full-charge state within less than 16min for the battery capacity of 8kWh by supplying the charging current of 78A. Owing to the simple and compact power conversion scheme, the proposed solution has superior module-friendly mechanical structure which is absolutely required to realize flexible power expansion capability in a very high-current rapid charging system.

  • 국내 마이크로그리드는 실증단지, 도서지역, 캠퍼스, 산업단지등에 구축되고 있다. 특히 산업단지는 수용가의 전기에너지 이용 효율화와 신재생에너지 전원을 활용한 전력거래를 위해 마이크로그리드를 구축하는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 ESS(Energy Storage System) 복합운영을 통한 비용절감과 전력거래 수익창출 실증을 위하여 나주혁신도시 동수산업단지 내계통과 연계된 제조업체(태산, 범한, 하이옥스)에 구축되는 마이크로그리드 경제성을 분석한다. 경제성 분석 툴인 HOMER를 이용하여 각 업체별 PV(PhotoVoltaic) 및 ESS용량에 따른 순 현재비용과 1[kWh]당 발전단가를 산출한다. 경제성 분석을 위해 각 제조업체의 최근 1년간 부하량과 산업용 전기요금기준, 기업체 소재지의 기후조건에 따른 태양광발전량, 각 기업체 마이크로그리드 실제구축비용을 입력하고, 공인할인율 5.5[%]와 유류비 1500[원/ℓ]를 기준으로 경제성을 분석한다. 분석을 바탕으로 개별 제조업체 부하 특성에 부합한 마이크로그리드 분산전원 및 설비 용량 선정과 운영방안을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, high concentration yield multi-discharge type ozonizer (MDO) of new discharge type using superposed silent discharge was designed and manufactured, MDO can be consisted with 3 kind of multi discharge type ozonizer (MDO) in accordance with power supply method that supplying power, which has 180[$^{\circ}$] phase difference, to 3 electrodes and double gap. At the moment, discharge characteristics and ozone generation characteristics of each MDO were investigated in accordance with quantity of supplied gas, the number of MDO, and the shapes of each MDO. In result, ozone generation characteristics of 17185[ppm] and 783[g/kWh] were obtained, and when ozone of 17185 [ppm] was in contact with dyeing water waste, decolorization characteristics was excellent, so it confirmed that MDO could be used as water environment improvement facility.

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted the ballast water management convention at a diplomatic conference in early 2004 that all ships should be equipped with a treatment system from 2010 gradually. In this paper, the disinfection characteristic of ultra-violet (UV) rays was studied and a ballast water treatment system (BWTS) which can treat $50m^3$/h sea water was manufactured. The system consists of a disinfection chamber with six 3.5 kW UV lamps which are operated by magnetic ballasts, a programmable logic controller (PLC) and set of pipe lines. The biological disinfection efficacy of the prototype BWTS was evaluated following the IMO rules using zooplankton such as Artemia and Rotifer species for the size over $50{\mu}m$, and phytoplankton such as Tetraselmis and Thalassiosira species for the size between 10 to $50{\mu}m$. From the experimental results, the disinfection efficacy was 99.99 % that meets the IMO requirement. However, more studies on an energy saving system are needed because the consumption power of the prototype system is as high as over 21 kWh for $50m^3$/h.

Electrochemical Capacitors Based on Aligned Carbon Nanotubes Directly Synthesized on Tantalum Substrates

  • We demonstrate that vertically aligned carbon nanotubes can be synthesized directly on tantalum substrate via water-assisted chemical vapor deposition and evaluate their properties as electrochemical capacitors. The mean diameter of the carbon nanotubes was $7.1{\pm}1.5\;nm$, and 70% of them had double walls. The intensity ratio of G-band to D-band in Raman spectra was as high as 5, indicating good quality of the carbon nanotubes. Owing to the alignment and low equivalent series resistance, the carbon nanotube based supercapacitors showed good rate performance. Rectangular shape of cyclic voltammogram was maintained even at the scan rate of > 1 V/s in 1 M sulfuric acid aqueous solution. Specific capacitance was well-retained (~94%) even when the discharging current density dramatically increased up to 145 A/g. Consequently, specific power as high as 60 kW/kg was obtained from as-grown carbon nanotubes in aqueous solution. Maximum specific energy of ~20 Wh/kg was obtained when carbon nanotubes were electrochemically oxidized and operated in organic solution. Demonstration of direct synthesis of carbon nanotubes on tantalum current collectors and their applications as supercapacitors could be an invaluable basis for fabrication of high performance carbon nanotube supercapacitors.

The compensation method estimates the vanatlon 01 pbase change with the spectral distribution of the light source through first-order approximation, and then diIectly compensates the measurement errors by perIormmg two-wavelength white light intetferomctric measurements. Experimental results prove that the proposed self-compensatIOn mcthod is capable of reducing the measmement error in step height gauging within $\pm2nm$..

  • The present study has been conducted to develope a heating system for a green house with heat from underground air at Jeju Island. The temperature of the air deposited in the underground is $16{\sim}18^{\circ}C$ throughout the year, and it also has a large amount of moisture. Therefore, the air could not directly used for the heating of a green house. In this study, a heat pump with dehumidification function has been developed, which consisted of three evaporators, where the moisture removal occurs, accompanied by temperature drop. The dropped temperature is recovered, while passing through a series condenser. The air temperature increased from $17^{\circ}C$ to 35 with a 2.1 kg/h of moisture removal rate. The developed system moisture removal performance shows 0.91 kg/kWh.

The Study on the Zero-Energy House Prototype of Country House (농촌주택에 적합한 제로에너지 하우스의 프로토타입 연구)

  • Due to the building energy consumption of total energy consumption of Korea takes over 24%, economizing building energy and using renewable energy resources is being required. To suggest the prototype of zero energy house of country house, the passive systems and active systems are applicated and simulated. In case of wall insulation system is applicated, the heating load of building is reduced. Also, clear triple pair glazing system reduced 2.1% of heating load of building. The amount of reducing heating load by infiltration is depending on the Heating system. In this model, the 0.3ACH made 14.6% saving on heating load from base infiltration 0.82ACH. The solar thermal system of active system could save 80% of DHW and PV system supplies electric power more than average consumption of year. Through the optimum process, the end use of zero energy house of country house is 36kWh/m2.yr and total energy consumption is reduced about 74.2%.
