Cotton was etched in 15% NaOH solution at $90^{\circ}C$ for 15 min in order to give good wettability. Then it was catalyzed and accelerated by using $PdC1_2$-$SnCl_2$ solution and 10% $_2$$SO_4$, respectively. Uniform deposits on cotton were obtained when it was electroless copper deposited in pH 10.5 solution at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and Ni-Fe-P deposited in solutions of pH 11 at$ 75^{\circ}C$. The latter deposit has a chemical composition similar to that of permalloy.
In this study, interfacial properties were measured for imidazoline type cationic surfactant system which has been widely used as a fabric softener, a dispersant, an anti-static agent, a bleach activator, and an emulsifier. The CMC of imidazoline surfactant was near $6{\times}10^{-5}mol/L$ and the surface tension at CMC was about 32 mN/m. It was found that surface tension was not affected by surfactant concentration but decreased with an increase in pH. The interfacial tension between 1 wt% aqueous solution and n-dodecane was shown to be about 0.01 mN/m and equilibration time was not affected by pH. Phase behavior experiment in a binary aqueous surfactant system showed that only micellar solution of $L_1$ phase was found under conditions of temperature and pH investigated during this study. Only a two-phase region consisting of lower-phase microemulsion in equilibrium with excess oil phase existed under the same conditions, when oil was added to the binary surfactant system. The foam stability measured with 1 wt% surfactant solution increased with pH, which is consistent with surface tension measurement result. QCM(quartz crystal microbalance) measurement showed that surfactant adsorption increased with surfactant concentration but decreased with pH. According to the friction measurement, best fabric softening effect by imidazoline surfactant system was found under alkali conditions.

This study was aimed to decrease AOX(Adsorbed Organic Halide Compounds) by applying bleaching methods of A(HNO$_3$ + NaNO$_2$) and $D^{(H/L)}$(dual pH chlorine dioxide bleaching) to conventional OCEDED bleaching stages. And so we investigate the effects of NSA treatment and the influence of production rate of ion species in chlorine dioxide and pulp mixtures according to various pH as well as dual pH on pulp bleaching. Finally the effects of AOC_DED^{(H/L)}ED^{(H/L)}$ bleaching stage were investigated by measuring AOX, brightness, kappa number and viscosity of pulps. A stage was treated by using 4% $HNO_3$ and 0.05~2.0% $NaNO_2$ on pulp and $D^{(H/L)}$ stage was like that pulp mixed with chlorine dioxide solution was adjusted at pH 7.0 and reacted in pulp cosistency 3%, S~20min, $70^{\circ}C$, and then successively for 160~175min at pH 4.0. It was found that suitable $NaNO_2$ addition rate was at 0.6% where the brigtness of pulp was most higher and pulp viscosity was not decreased much. Chlorate ($CIO_3$) was decreased according to pH increase but chlorite($CIO_2$) was highly decreased according to pH increase. And chloride was slightly increased with pH increase. The applying of A and D^{(H/L)}$ bleaching stages to some various multiple bleaching stages ($AOC_DED^{(H/L)}/EopD^{(H/L)} etc.$) had good results that brightness was increased more 2~3% ISO than conventional method(OCEDEopD), but viscosity was dropped by only 1~2cps.
Bacillus subtilis BK-17 which produces a novel protease with fibrinolytic activity was isolated from soybean paste. Bioreactor production of the enzyme was studied in order to optimize fermentation conditions such as medium concentration, pH, agitation speed, and temperature. Under most cultural conditions, enzyme production initially began when the cell growth stopped. The onset of the enzyme production was indicated by rapid increase in both dissolved oxygen (DO) and pH. Two- to three-times more concentrated medium than the flask optimum medium yielded higher enzyme production in the bioreactor fermentation. When the medium pH was controlled constant, pH 6.5 exhibited the highest activity in the range of 6.0 to 7.5, but the activity was similar to the case when the pH was initially adjusted to 7.5 and subsequently maintained within a relatively wide range of 6.4 to 7.8. Agitation speed did not affect the enzyme production with an exception of DO reaching zero. Fermentation time was reduced when temperature increased within the range of $25^{\circ}C$ to$37^{\circ}C$. However, the highest activity, along with the slow decrease of the enzymatic activity after reaching the maximum value, was observed at $25^{\circ}C$. By shifting the temperature from $37^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$immediately after DO reached the minimum level, the high enzyme production of 1,100 U/ml along with the short fermentation period of 13 h could be obtained.

Furfurylidene acetophenone derivatives were synthesis, it was measured that hydrolysis made use of UV at a wide pH $1.0{\sim}13.0$ range in 30% $dioxane-H_2O$ solution, $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. On the basis of general base catalysis, substitutent effect, confirmation of hydrolysis products, it was measured the reaction rate of furfurylidene acetophenone derivatives for the pH change. It maybe concluded that a part was unrelated to pH and another part was in proportion to concentration of hydroxide ion : Above pH 10.0, It was in proportion to concentration of hydroxide ion, a part having no concern with pH was added to the neutral $H_2O$ molecule. From the result of measurement the reaction rate, hydrolysis of furfurylidene acetophenone derivatives confirmed to the irreversible first order. Through measurement the substituent effect, It found that reaction rate was accelerated by electron attracting group. Also, From the result of final product, There were furfural and acetophenone. On the basis of these findings, Hydrolysis for the furfurylidene acetophenone derivative was proposed a fitting mechanisms.

In this study, a new design method of pile bent structure considering plastic hinge was proposed on the basis of the beam-column model. Based on the analysis results, it is found that the positioning of plastic hinge on the pile bent structure was influenced by nonlinear behavior of material and p-$\Delta$ effect. Moreover, concrete cracking began to occur at the joint section between the pile and column in case of pile bent structure with different cross-sections. The plastic hinge can be developed on the pile bent structure when large displacement was occurred, and pile bent structures can be maintained well only if it is developed on the column part. Therefore, in this study, the optimized cross-section ratio between column and pile was analyzed to induce the plastic hinge at the joint section between the pile and column. Based on this, the optimized diameter ratio of pile and column can be obtained below the inflection point of the bi-linear curve depending on the relations between column-pile diameter ratio($D_c/D_p$) and normalized lateral cracking load ratio($F/F_{Dc=Dp}$). And through this study, it is founded that in-depth limit($L_{As}$=0.4%) normalized by the pile length($L_P$) are proportionally decreased as the pile length($L_P/D_P$) increases up to $L_P/D_P$=17.5, and beyond that in-depth limit converges to a constant value. Finally, it is found that the proposed limit depth by taking into account the minimum concrete-steel ratio would be more economical design of the pile bent structure.
The genetic diversity and species-diagnostic markers in the introduced apple snail, Pomacea canaliculata and in the native Thai apple snails; Pila ampullacea, P. angelica, P. pesmei, and P. polita, were investigated by restriction analysis of COI and are reported for the first time. Twenty-one composite haplotypes showing non-overlapping distributions among species were found. Genetic heterogeneity analysis indicated significant differences between species (P < 0.0001) and within P. pesmei (P < 0.0001) and P. angelica (P < 0.0004). No such heterogeneity was observed in Pomacea canaliculata (P > 0.0036 as modified by the Bonferroni procedure), P. ampullacea (P = 0.0824-1.000) and P. polita (P = 1.0000). A neighbor-joining tree based on genetic distance between pairs of composite haplotypes differentiated all species and indicated that P. angelica and P. pesmei are closely related phylogenetically. In addition, the 16S rDNA of these species was cloned and sequenced. A species-specific PCR for P. canaliculata was successfully developed with a sensitivity of detection of approximately 50 pg of the target DNA template. The amplification of genomic DNA (50 pg and 25 ng) isolated from the fertilized eggs, and juveniles (1, 7, and 15 d after hatching) of Pomacea canaliculata was also successful, and suggested that Pomacea canaliculata and Pila species can be discriminated from the early stages of development.
In this study, we prepared naproxen (NP) imprinted biodegradable polymer based multi-layer biomaterials using allbanggae starch (ABS), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and alginic acid (SA), and investigated their physicochemical properties and the controlled drug release effects. In addition, the prepared multi-layer biomaterials were characterized by FE-SEM and FT-IR. In order to confirm the controlled drug release effect for the transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS), the NP release properties of NP imprinted multi-layer biomaterials were investigated using various pH buffer solutions and artificial skin at 36.5 ℃. The results of NP release in various pH buffer solutions indicated that the NP release at high pH was about 1.3 times faster than that at low pH. In addition, NP release in multi-layer biomaterials was about 4.0 times slower than that in single-layer biomaterials. It was confirmed that the NP release rate in triple-layer biomaterials was 4.0 times slower than that in single-layer biomaterials while using artificial skin. Also, it could be found that NP in double-layer biomaterials and triple-layer biomaterials was released sustainably for 12 h. The NP release mechanism in pH buffer solutions followed the Fickian diffusion mechanism, but followed the non-Fickian diffusion mechanism with artificial skin.
Mackinawite (FeS), as a ubiquitous reduced iron mineral, is known as a key controller of redox reactions in anaerobic subsurface environment. The reaction of FeS with redox-sensitive toxic element such as arsenic is substantially affected by pH conditions of the given environments. In this study, the interaction of As(V) with FeS was studied under strict anaerobic conditions with various pH conditions. The pH-dependent arsenic removal tests were conducted under wide ranges of pH conditions and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was applied to investigate the reaction mechanisms under pH 5, 7, and 9. The removal efficiency of FeS for As(V) showed the higher removal of As(V) under low pH conditions and its removal efficiency decreased with increasing pH, and no As(V) reduction was observed in 1 g/L FeS solution. However, XAS analysis indicated the reduction of As(V) to As(III) occurred during reaction between FeS and As(V). The reduced form of As(III) was particularly identified as an arsenic sulfide mineral (As2S3) in all pH conditions (pH 5, 7, and 9). As2S3 precipitation was more pronounced in pH 5 where the solubility of FeS is higher than in other pH conditions. The linear combination fitting results of XAS demonstrated that As(V) removal mechanism is concerted processes of As2S3 precipitation and surface complexation of both arsenic species.

Bacillus licheniformis was an useful material for improvement of fecal microflora. The stability of Bacillus licheniformis in low pH (pH 2, 3, 4, 6, 7), artificial bile acid, high concentration of salt (0, 5, 10, 20, $30\%$), and ethanol (0, 4, 8, 16, $32\%$) was investigated in this study. The viability of Bacillus licheniformis was stable for pH 3, 4, 6, 7 Final viability of Bacillus licheniformis was confirmed below $25\%$, in the bile acid. In high concentration of salt, Bacillus licheniformis showed optimal viability in $10\%$ of salt. The viability of Bacillus licheniformis was over $95\%$ in condition of ethanol concentration $4\%,\;8\%,16\%,\;32\%$ contrast with uncontained ethanol at $37^{\circ}C$ for 4h. It was verified that Bacillus licheniformis was stable for pH 4, 6, 7, high concentration of salt and ethanol but was unstable in pH 2 and bile acid.
