Development of High power LED module for Channel letter (Channel letter용 High Power LED Module 개발)

  • Channel letter용 High Power LED Module 개발하기 위하여, 1W 백색(단색) LED 1EA LED Module과 1W 백색(단색) LED 3EA LED Module, 3W RGB LED 1EA LED Module에 대한 3종의 제품 개발하고, 고효율 RGB LED SMPS 회로 설계, 광색 가변을 위한 RGB LED 최적 배치 및 렌즈 설계, 고출력 1W LED Module 방열 설계 및 기구 개발, SMPS 회로 및 RGB LED 배열 회로 통합 시제품 직접 제작하였다, 신뢰성 평가 및 성능 시험 등을 실시하였으며, T자형 Channel letter에 기존 고휘도 LED Module과 개발된 고출력 LED Nodule을 동시에 적용한 결과, 기존 고휘도 LED Module를 사용하였을 경우에는 $1W{\times}10$개로 10W의 전력을 소비하였으나 개발된 고출력 LED Nodule은 $3W{\times}3$개로 9W의 전력을 소비하였으며 1W의 에너지가 절감되었음에도 불구하고 평균 휘도는 약 2.5배, 균제도는 1.43 배가 더 우수한 결과를 얻었다.

Development of 80W LED Lighting Equipment for Broadcasting System (방송시스템용 80W LED 조명장비의 개발)

  • LED lighting, which many companies are pursuing commercialization, is a representative green energy technology. However, the LED lighting for broadcasting image should have high output and easy portability compared with general LED lighting devices for street lamps, advertisement or transportation devices. Therefore, while shooting a broadcast image if you use LEDs as a substitute light source for halogen lamps and fluorescent lamps that are large in size and uncomfortable to handle it is expected that the lightening of the equipment will activate the broadcasting image lighting equipment industry. After considering the mass production of the LED module board and the SMT production size of the chip mounter, the board size was determined considering the overall size of the product by model. In this paper, four 20W LED boards are arranged vertically in order to produce an 80W board. In other words, by sharing LED module board size by model, high power LED lighting equipments of 120W and 200W can be selected as an increase in the number of boards.

  • 최근 LED 기술을 활용한 LED 조명은 밝기와 수명 및 저전력이라는 장점으로 인하여 현재 시중에 급속도로 퍼저 나가고 있다. 이러한 LED를 조명으로 사용하기 위한 기반 기술은 SMPS(Switching Mode Power Supply) 설계 기술이라 할 수 있다. 또한 LED 성능은 입력 전원 상태 및 LED 조명의 부하 조건에 따라 오차가 발생하여 LED등의 균일한 밝기를 유지하는데 기술적으로 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 12[W] 급 LED 다운 라이트에 대하여 LED SMPS의 전류 출력에 대하여 정전류제어를 함으로서 입/출력 조건의 변동에 대응하여 보다 안정적인 LED 등의 균일한 밝기를 유지하기 위한 12[W] 급 LED 다운 라이트용 SMPS에 PFC(Power Factor Correction) 회로를 추가하여 역율을 개선을 하며, 전압 위상에 따른 전류 위상 분포를 규일 비율로 제어 하여 보다 안정적인 밝기를 제공하는 12[W] 급 LED 조명용 SMPS를 개발하여 상품화를 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on the Development of LED Spot Luminaire for Image Lighting (영상조명용 144[W] LED 스폿 등기구 개발에 관한연구)

  • This study manufactured spot lighting fixtures for the broadcasting stage and LED lighting fixtures, measured the illumination, dimming, and color temperature, and installed LED lighting and spot Fresnel lighting to the camera by turns with the same subject to confirm and look into the possibility of replacement of LED lighting fixtures by shooting the figures and comparing them. The analysis of the photographed subject found that the lighting apparatus of LED 144[W] was superior to the tungsten halogen illuminator of 1 [kW] in terms of brightness and color of an image. The measuring of the energy used in 144 [W] LED lighting equipment and tungsten halogen 1[kW] lighting equipment suggested that LED saved more than 80 [%] of energy in the same intensity of illumination. The comparison of the light distribution and light intensity distribution of halogen tungsten illuminator of 1[kW] and LED 144[W] lighting apparatus found that when a subject received concentrated lighting, effective lighting is possible because the illumination intensity on the surface of the lighted subject was high. In performance halls or studios of about 6 [m] height, there is no problem of illumination intensity in LED 144 [W] illuminator. Therefore, it is possible to replace the existing tungsten halogen 1 [KW] illuminator one to one.

Development of Outdoor 50W-LED Module using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin (히트파이프 및 스택핀을 이용한 50W급 옥외용 LED 모듈개발)

  • We proposed 50W-LED modules of using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin and produced LED modules was evaluated heat dissipation characteristics with comparison of the conventional die-casting type. It verified the application of products by applying it to 150W-LED road luminaires through simulation. The LED module was measures aimed design temperature of the Stack-fin and showed 26% upward heat dissipation effect than a conventional die-casting type. The luminous efficacy of 150W-LED road luminaires using this LED module reached over 112lm/W, and the simulation results showed average of horizontal luminance, overall luminance uniformity($U_O$) and lane luminance uniformity($U_I$) that is suitable for five-lane road with the KS standards.

  • 20W 급 LED Tube의 개발을 위하여 LED Package의 광효율이 70lm/W이상을 갖는 Package를 자체 제작하고 이를 적용하여 LED Tube의 광학, 방열 및 기구 구조 설계를 하여 시제품을 제작하였다. 그 결과 시제품의 성능은 광속 1081 lm, 상관색온도 6818 K, Ra 75.71이 성능을 갖는 20W LED Tube를 개발하였다.

Secondary Optical Design of LED lens with Asymmetric Light Distribution for street (비대칭 배광을 갖는 LED 가로등 2차렌즈 설계)

  • In this study, optical analysis for 100W LED safety street lighting was conducted. Experimental research on such single LED was the first undertaken. simulation modeling based on optical properties of single LED has compared single LED product also designed 100W simulation modeling has compared average road illuminance with Korean Industrial Standards for LED safety street lighting(KS C7658:2009). 100W safety street lighting (model: CE180-ST-OS) designed by simulation has been also compared between product and 100W simulation modeling, and error rates have showed average 5.6[%]. Designed 100W LED safety street lighting base on simulation modeling was proven by comparison experiments. Through the simulations and the corresponding analysis, it was found that the tested 100W LED safety street lamp had reasonable performance. Design method for LED safety Street lamps have been summarized, based on the optical analysis.

Thermal Characteristics of the design on Residential 13.5W COB LED Down Light Heat Sink (주거용 13.5W COB LED 다운라이트 방열판 설계에 따른 열적 특성 분석)

  • There are several severe problems for LED device, the next generation's economy green lighting: as the temperature increases, the lamp efficiency decreases; if the temperature is over $80^{\circ}C$, the lifetime of lighting decreases; Red Shift phenomenon that wavelength of spectrum line moves toward long wavelength occurs; and optical power decreases as $T_j$ increases. Thus, Heat sink design that can minimize the heat of LED device is currently in progress. While the thermal resistance of COB Type LED was reduced by direct coupling of LED chip to the board, residential 13.5W requires Heat sink in order resolve heat issue. This study designed Heat Sink suitable for residential 13.5W COB LED down-light and selected the optimum Fin thickness through flow simulation that packaged the designed Heat Sink and 13.5W COB. And finally it analyzed and evaluated the thermal modes using contacting thermometer.

  • A study on that LED in 36[W] class replaces broadcast illuminator to save energy and improve the quality of film because tungsten halogen illuminators are too hot and spending lots of electrical capacity at the time of camera shooting. And the following result was obtained .36[w] LED lighting fixture's illuminance is lower than 1[kw] halogen Light but object's illuminance became higher, and at the image be showed very bright and softly.

  • Market for LED lights as a newly-growing industry has been growing, and secureness of high efficiency and long life through optimal thermal design are crucial for further popularization. In this study, considerable improvement in thermal performance for a 10W LED light has been done compared to a previous model. For this, numerical model has been established through experiments and used to optimize design factors in heat release such as fin shape, PCB kind or LED number etc. Furthermore, prototype of a LED light has been made and the improved thermal performance was verified with heat release experiments.
