Fabrication and Properties of Ni and Ni-W Electroplated Molds Using LIGA-like Process for Replication of Micro Components (LIGA-like 공정을 이용한 마이크로 부품 복제용 Ni과 Ni-W 금형 제조 및 특성)

  • Electroplated Ni and Ni-W micro-molds using LIGA-like process for replication of micro-components such as microfluidic parts and micro optical parts have been investigated. In general, it is hard to produce micro-parts using conventional mechanical processes. Micro-mold formed by LIGA-like process could fabricate micro-parts with high aspect ratio. In this paper, fabrication and properties of electroplated Ni molds with varying applied current types as well as those of Ni-W molds were investigated. Ni molds fabricated under pulse-reverse current showed the highest hardness value of about 160 Hv. Ni-W molds showed the hardness of about 500 Hv which was much harder than that of Ni electroplated molds. The above results suggested that high quality micro-molds could be fabricated by using Ni electroplating of pulse-reverse type for core molds and sequential Ni-W alloys coating.

  • The molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) is endowed with the high potential especially in future electric power generation industry by its own outstanding characteristics. KEPCO (KEPRI) started a 100 kW MCFC system development program in 1993 and has been executed 100kW system develpilot plant successfully completed first phaseopment by 2005 on the basis of successful results of 25kW system development. In this program, the components and mechanical structure for 100 kW stack and system construction were completed on last year and now system pre - commissioning was being executed. A 100 kW MCFC power plant was constructed at the site of Boryeong Thermal Power Plant. A 100 kW MCFC system has characterized as a high pressure operation mode, CO2 recycle, and externally reforming power generation system. The 100 kW MCFC system consisted with stacks which was made by two 50 kW sub-stacks, 90 cells with 6,000 cm2 active area and BOP including a reformer, a recycle blower, a catalytic burner, an inverter, and etc. The system has been operated from 13th of September on this year and produced 50 kW AC under atmospheric pressure condition and expected to operate by the end of this year.

  • In this paper, fabrication of sample holder was studied for an analysis of electromagnetic(EM) wave property in W-band(75 GHz~110 GHz). First of all, a propagation theory of EM wave was considered in the rectangular waveguide, and measurement technique was suggested for analysis of characteristics. A sample holder using in W-band was designed and fabricated, and used for analysis of material property and absorption ability using RAM samples. As a result, the sample holder test was verified exactly for measuring EM wave property of RAM sample. In the future, the proposed sample holder would like to be used for the EM wave property analysis in W-band.

  • We have developed the measurement system for the high power laser The absorber is made of gold-plated copper cavity. The calibration heater is using a manganin(CuMn12Ni ; Isabellenhutte) coil, and output power is measured by using of resistance bridge with composed manganin and copper coil. Developed system can measure for 5∼1000w laser output power range. Calibration factors are 489.13 J/mV at 100W range and 489.13 J/mV at 500W range. Correction factors are 0.99 at 100W range and 1.006 at 500W range.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the efficient turning method which will be able to use every cutting methods, to calculate the width of the center field which must transpose from rotary cutting method to return cutting method, to investigate the effects of L/W and unit field on the operation efficiency. The results are summarized as follows: 1. In case of cutting in the outer field, the efficient turning method is the "$\alpha$" type turning method (half U-shaped turning method) at the first rotation, is the "$\beta$" type turning method (T-shaped turning method) at the second to fourth rotation. 2. In case of cutting in the inner field, the efficient turning method which takes the least turning time is the "a" type turning method ($\Delta$-shaped turning method). 3. The width of the center field (W') changes by the length-width ratio (L/W) and width (W), W' is 9.0m in case that L/W is 2.5 and W is 30m. 4. The larger L/W and area of unit field (A) become, the more operation efficiency (E) increases, and the limits that E is affected signicantly by L/W is 2 to 3.5 and A is within 5,000$m^2$. within 5,000$m^2$.

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of a high power(300W) forward converter using a planar transformer is presented. The overall size and volume of the converter is decreased by replacing a planar transformer in stead of using a conventional winding transformer. Due to the decreased size and volume, power density of the applied forward converter is increased. Also, in this paper, the 300W ZVS forward converter with active clamp snubber circuit is compared to the 300W hard switching forward converter planar transformer, the decreased size and volume, the 300W ZVS forward converter with active clamp snubber circuit, 30W hard switching forward converter.

FPGA Design of Turbo Code based on MAP (MAP 기반 터보코드의 FPGA 설계)

  • In this paper, we efficiently implemented turbo code algorithm in FPGA H/W(hardware) resource. The used turbo code algorithm has the characteristics; the size of constraint is 3, encoder type is 1/3, the size of random interleaver is 2048. The proposed H/W consists of MAP block for calculating alpha and delta using delta value, storing buffer for each value, multiplier for calculating lamda, and lamda buffer. The proposed algorithm and H/W architecture was verified by C++ language and was designed by VHDL. Finally the designed H/W was programmed into FPGA and tested in wireless communication environment for field availability. The target FPGA of the implemented H/W is VERTEX4 XC4VFX12-12-SF363 and it is stably operated in 131.533MHz clock frequency (7.603ns).

Studies on Separation and Determination of Korean Bovine Serum Protein by Colorimetric Method (비색법에 의한 한우 혈청단백질의 분획정량 시험)

  • Serum Samples from adult of Korean cattles including 40 females and 20 males were analyzed by sodium salt precipitation and colorimetric method in the purpose of the determination of total serum protein, albumin, globulin, ${\alpha}$-globulin, ${\beta}$-globulin and ${\gamma}$-globulin. The results obtained arc summarized as follows: 1. Mean value of total serum protein showed a slight variation from 7.6%, and its regional and sex differences were not found to be significant. 2. Contents of albumin in serum showed lower level than that of globulin as low level of A/G ratio 0.4 in proportion. 3. Contents of Serum ${\alpha}$-globulin showed 1.4w/v% and $1.51{\pm}0.46$w/v% in each group of female, and $1.31{\pm}0.26$w/v%, in the group of male. 4. Contents of serum ${\beta}$-globulin showed 1.74w/v%, 1.95w/v%, in each group of female, and 1.82w/v% in the group of male. 5. Contents of serum ${\gamma}$-globulin showed 2.32w/v%, 2.30w/v% in each group of female, and 2.30w/v%, in the group of male.

CONDITION NUMBER FOR THE W- WEIGHTED DRAZIN INVERSE AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN THE SOLUTION OF RECTANGULAR LINEAR SYSTEM

  • In this paper, we generalized the results of [23, 26], and get the results of the condition number of the W-weighted Drazin-inverse solution of linear system W AW\chi=b, where A is an $m{\times}n$ rank-deficient matrix and the index of A W is $k_1$, the index of W A is $k_2$, b is a real vector of size n in the range of $(WA)^{k_2}$, $\chi$ is a real vector of size m in the range of $(AW)^{k_1}$. Let $\alpha$ and $\beta$ be two positive real numbers, when we consider the weighted Frobenius norm $\|[{\alpha}W\;AW,\;{\beta}b]\|$(equation omitted) on the data we get the formula of condition number of the W-weighted Drazin-inverse solution of linear system. For the normwise condition number, the sensitivity of the relative condition number itself is studied, and the componentwise perturbation is also investigated.

Characteristics of W-C-N Thin Diffusion Barrier for Cu Interconnection (Cu 금속배선을 위한 카본-질소-텅스텐 확산방지막 특성)

  • Low resistive ($300{\mu}{\Omega}$-cm) W-C-N films have been deposited on tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) interlayer dielectric by atomic layer deposition (ALD) with $WF_6-N_2-CH_4$ gas. The exposure cycles of $N_2$ and $CH_4$ are synchronized with pulse plasma. The W-C-N films on TEOS layer follow the ALD mechanism and keep constant deposition rate of 0.2 nm/cycle from 10 to 100 cycles. As a diffusion barrier for Cu interconnection the W-C-N films maintain amorphous phase and Cu inter-diffusion is not occurred even at $800^{\circ}C$ for 30 min.
