Priorities Analysis of NCS Vocational Key Competence of Nurse using AHP Method (AHP기법을 활용한 간호사의 NCS직업기초능력 우선순위 분석)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the research is understand the priorities of national competency standards vocational key competence factors in nurse who is work in Seoul and Incheon. Methods: The design of this study is descriptive investigation research, and the subjects were 144 nurse. we establish the vocational key competency defined in national competency standards as analytic hierarchy analysis model. The vocational key competency has 10 categories and 34 sub-categories. And based on the survey in nurse, the weight representing relative importance of each factor were calculated by using analytic hierarchy process method. Results: The analytic hierarchy process analysis on 10 categories showed that professional ethics(0.149) was higher than any other categories while that of numeracy(0.040) was at the bottom. And the analysis on sub-categories revealed that the most important factors in each categories included the Ethical community(Professional ethics), Conflict management skills(Interpersonal skills), Problem solving capability(Problem-solving skills), Listening skills(Communication skills), Applicable technical skills(Technical skills), Ability to understand business(Ability to understand organizational structures), Information processing capabilities(Information capacity), Self-management skills(Self-development capability), Ability to manage time(Resource management capabilities), Basic math skills(Numeracy). Conclusions: The results in this study can be used as basic data for the development of liberal arts curriculum for Nursing.

The Effect of NCS based Education Service Quality on Student's Loyalty to College and Self-confidence in Getting Job (NCS 기반 교육서비스품질이 대학생들의 학교충성도와 취업자신감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out constitutions of education service quality in NCS based education and to investigate the effects on vocational key competence, loyalty to college and self-confidence in getting job of college students as important performance variables. The results of this study are as follows. In the NCS based education, five dimensions of education service quality were teaching-learning-lecture, reputation, education program, administrative service and facilities. It is analyzed that the teaching-learning-lecture and administrative service have a great influence on vocational key competence of students. In addition, education service quality and vocational key competence were analyzed as important factors for student's loyalty to college and self-confidence in getting job and proved to be important performance variables.

The Effect of Project Method on the Key Competencies on the unit of "Making Model by Architecture" in the Vocational High Schools (특성화 고등학교 '건축모형제작' 단원에서 프로젝트법을 적용한 수업이 직업기초능력 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aimed to identify the effect of the instruction applied with a project method for the 'Making Model by Architecture' unit in vocational High schools on the improvement of the Key competences. With this aim, the study selected as an experimental group, control group third graders in two classroom in G vocational High Schools in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. Aiming at the selected students in the experimental group and the control group, the study conducted a pre-test of their Key competences; thus, the study confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference. Then, the study offered a class applied with a project method to the experimental group, while offering a traditional instruction to the control group. After offering the class, the study undertook a post-test, and verified the effect. In order to prove the test result, the study carried out a Hest using the SPSSWIN 12.0 statistical program, while the significance level being ${\alpha}$<.05. The conclusions obtained from this study include the following. All the six selected areas including 'problem-solving skills', 'communication skills', 'resource utilization competence', 'mathematical competence', 'interpersonal management competence' and 'self-management competence', which were supposed to be appropriate for this study among the sub-areas of Key competences, were found to show significant differences between the experimental group applied with a project method and the control group as a result of the post-test of the two groups. In summarizing the above research results, the class using a project method for the 'Making Model by Architecture' unit was discovered to be effective for improving Key competences. In particular, it may be more effective learning method for enhancing six areas greatly relevant to the project method among various sub-areas of Key competences.

Analyzing the Levels of Vocational key competencies Required by Radiological Technologist Job Description in Blind Hiring process (블라인드 채용 시 방사선사 직무기술서에서 요구하는 직업기초능력 수준 분석)

  • The objective of this study was to prepare the baseline data for vocational key competence of radiologists by analyzing the communication skills, problem-solving skills, self-development capability, interpersonal skills, and vocational ethics, which are required by NCS job descriptions for radiologists, of college students majoring in radiology. This study surveyed 79 sophomore and junior college students majoring in radiology at S University from Nov 19 to Nov 30, 2018, using questionnaires and analyzed the levels of vocational key competencies. The analysis results of vocational key competences levels showed that the level of interpersonal skills was the highest (71.2 points for juniors and 74.9 points for seniors). The levels of problem-solving skills and self-development capability were low. Conflict management capability, which is a sub-domain of interpersonal skills, was 77.5 and 80.5 points for juniors and seniors, respectively, which were the highest, while leadership ability was the lowest. When the sub-domains of self-development capability were analyzed, self-recognition capability was the highest (70.0 points for juniors and 74.8 points for seniors) and the career development capability was the lowest. Colleges are required to develop a customized regular curriculum that is well-linked to the clinic in order to improve the vocational key competencies required by the NCS job description to prepare for the blind hiring process. Colleges also put efforts to educate radiologists who can actively cope with rapidly changing medical environment by running various non-regular programs.

A Development of the Elements on Occupational Basic Competencies of Fisheries and Maritime High School Students (수산·해운계 고등학교 학생의 직업기초능력 요소 개발)

  • The aims of this study are to analysis the elements associated with a occupational basic competencies of fisheries and maritime high school students. Fisheries & maritime key competencies were defined as the abilities that include the essential knowledge, skills, attitude, and experiences required for the workforce on the fisheries and maritime job condition. This research collected preliminary data from 177 fisheries & maritime high school teachers. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability and validity analysis. The results of the study were as follows; First, largely, fisheris & maritime key competencies were divided into two parts; basic vocational skills and fisheries-maritime job skills. Second, fisheries & maritime key competencies were consisted of communicative competence, numeracy skills, thinking skills, English communication skills, self-management skills, interpersonal competency, selection & application of alternative, marine technology & information skills, marine consciousness and maritime professional ethics. Third, each key competency consisted of 2-9 sub-competencies.

Development of NCS Based Vocational Curriculum Model for the Practical and Creative Human Respirces (실전 창의형 인재 양성을 위한 NCS 기반 직업교육과정의 모형 개발)

  • The study aims to develop the NCS based vocational curriculum model for the practical and creative human resources. For effectiveness of the study, the study consists of literature studies of both domestic and international, contents analysis, case study, expert(9samples) consultation and review, and in-depth-interview of the three advisory members. The validity of the developed model is analyzed through mean, standard deviation and contents validity ratio(CVR). The main results of the model development in our study are as follow. First, our NCS based vocational curriculum model for the practical and creative human resources is developed with the analyses of NCS development manuals, training standard utilization and training curriculum organization manuals, NCS learning module development manual and case studies, NCS research report, NCS based curriculum pilot development resources directed toward the high schools and vocational school as well as the domestic and international literature study on career training model like NCS. Second, based on the findings of our analysis in combination with the findings from the consultations with the expert and advisory committee, total 19 sub-factors of each step and domain are extracted. The sub-factors of domain in step 1 are the competency unit, definition of competency unit, competency unit element, performance criteria, range of variable, guide of assessment, key competency; in step 2, they are subject title, subject objectives, chapter title, chapter objectives, pedagogical methods, assessment methods and basic job competence; and in step 2, they are NCS based subject matrix table, NCS based subject profile, NCS based job training curriculum table, NCS based subjects organization flowchart, NCS based job training operation plan. Third, the final model including step 3 NCS based subject profile are developed in association with the linked organizational sub-factors of step 1 and step 2. Forth, the validity tests for the final model by the step and domain yield the mean 4.67, CVR value 1.00, indicating the superior validity. Also, the means of each sub-factors are all over 4.33 with the CVR value 1.00, indicating the high validity as well. The means of the associated organizations within the model are also over 4.33 with the CVR value of 1.00. Standard deviations are all .50 or lower which are small. Fifth, based on the validity test results and the in-depth-interview of the expert and advisory committee, the model is adjusted complemented to establish final model of the NCS based vocational curriculum for the practical and creative human resources.
