  • In this paper, we developed a Windows 95 version off-line programming system which can simulate a track vehicle model in 3D graphics space. The track vehicle was adopted as an objective model. The interface between users and the off-line program system in the Windows 95's graphic user interface environment was also studied. The developing language is Microsoft visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by Silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics.

  • We developed a spatial parser generator, SPG, which can automatically create a spatial parser if CMG(Constraint Multiset Grammars) grammars for a visual language are provided by the user with GUI(Graphical User Interface). SPG has the following features. (1) The user uses a visual editor to define the grammars of a virtual language and draw the visual language which should be parsed. (2) The user roughly defines CMG grammars in a visual wan at first. Then the user modifies them and defines final grammars. (3) Because SPG has a constraint solver, it maintains constraints in the parsed virtual language according to the grammars.

  • It is extremely difficult for these various experts to participate in user interface design. Therefore, there has to be the studies for an automated design for User interface that could satisfy various expertise areas. In sequence to achieve this, there has to be a assessment metrics to support uer's comprehension for a business information processing, And an studies for a visual cohesion to design a qualified user interface. As a result, this paper is going to provide a modeling method of clustering design that could enhance visual cohesion of user interface prototypes. This is going to propose techniques and regulations of designing for clustering qualified user interface.

  • In this research, we investigated the effect of three visual feedback conditions (direct viewing, one-monitor viewing, and tow-monitors viewing) on the task performance of human operator in teloperation task. The three different level of task difficulties under each concitions were performed by thirty-six subjects. The result of the experiments was analysed by the task difficulties, and the measurements of performance are the task completion time and the frequency of task errors. In a teleoperator, the participation of a human operator is always required, and the man-machine interface and the operator's abilities is an important issue. Recently, the different types of sensory feedback conditions(force, vision, sound, tactile, etc) for teleoperation is a very active research area in ergonomics. Among them, visual feedback conditon is an important sense that can provide the information of task environment. Therefore, the sufficient understandings and investigation for human ability under various visual feedback conditions is required to establish the efficient man-machine interface of teleoperation. The result showed that the visual feecback conditions and the level of task difficulties have a significant effect on the task performance. For three level of task difficulties, the task completion time was the shortest under the condition of direct viewing. The number of task errors under the conditions of direct viewing and two-monitors viewing were reduced by more than half compare to that of one-monitor viewing.

  • The Direct Arm(DDA) is a SCARA typed direct drive manipulator with three degree of freedom(DOF) using the direct motor of the NSK company. In the paper, we propose a convenient interface for the SCARA-type robot which is practical to use. The proposed Visual Robot Teaching Mode using 3D graphics replaces the current teaching box. And besides this graphical teaching software can be implemented on the PC which is company used as a robot controller. This program was developed for the Windows 95 OS.

  • The CINDER code has about 60 years of development history, and is thus one of the world's best transmutation computing codes to date. Unfortunately, it is complex and cumbersome to use. Preparing auxiliary input files for activation computation from MCNPX output and executing them using Perl script (activation script) is the first difficulty, and separation of gamma source computing script (gamma script), which analyzes the spectra files produced by CINDER code and creates source definition format for MCNPX code, is the second difficulty. In addition, for highly nonlinear problems, multiple human interventions may increase the possibility of errors. Postprocessing such as making plots with large text outputs is also time consuming. One way to improve these limitations is to make a graphical user interface wrapper that includes all codes, such as MCNPX and CINDER, and all scripts with a visual C#.NET tool. The graphical user interface merges all the codes and provides easy postprocessing of graphics data and Microsoft office tools, such as Excel sheets, which make the CINDER code easy to use. This study describes the VCINDER code (with visual C#.NET) and gives a typical application example.
