  • Most production scheduling system in the ERP is based on the MRP. The MRP does not adapt to the change of the product design and the production schedule. It is important to keep due date in make-to-order production small and medium company. But it hard to keep due date on the MRP. The DBR Scheduling system of the TOC is excellent for adapting to production system change and suitable to make-to-order production small and medium compan. In this thesis, we make a system design using the Together(UML tool) and develope a production scheduling system using Microsoft Visual Basic.Net.

  • Laser distance meter and x-y robot employed in the extraction of three dimensional image recognition of muskmelon net and recognized the characteristics of that. All data measured transmitted to the PC/AT in the computer room and programmed with Visual Basic(Microsoft). Alteration of the concentration and application time of nutrient solution modified the net height and width of hydroponically grown muskmelon. Net height and width which are the characteristics of muskmelon depended on the concentration of nutrient solution used. Decreasing with the concentration of nutrient solution lowered the occupying ratio of net and also observed the tendency of widening of muskmelon net.

  • To study the body trunk basic to Clothing construction, and study the peculiarities of visual spatial division, necessary items are measured indirectly from 216 unmarried women from 19 to 24 years old by a photographic net-work method. In so doing, the problem of Fashion Design in establishing the location of Darts for Basic Dress is not considered. The following results are obtained. 1) Indirect measuring method, is obtained approximate to actual size, with an error of .+-. 2.8cm. 2) In the modeling plan of Dart location viewed from the visual-spatial division in Basic Dress, it is concluded that Darts are to be placed at the point of 1/3k+1/5k form the waist. From the aesthetic point of wiew, it is more appealling for darts to be placed at the point of 6cm .+-. 0.6cm right or left of center. 3) From direct measurement dart location can be set based on bust point width, and from indirect measurement, dart location can be set based on waist width.

  • In this paper, a new software package for modeling and simulating discrete-event dynamic systems is developed. The new software is a general-purpose, graphical tool based on timed Petri-nets and is developed using Visual Basic and Visual C++ for the window environment. It allows the user to graphically build a Petri-net model and enter input data for executing the Petri-net simulation model. It is equipped with a deadlock detection and recovery function as well as an automatic error check function. In addition, the software supports various enabling functions and distribution functions and provides various statistics for the performance measures of interests pertaining to the system. We expect the new software will be used in a wide number of applications including computer, communication and manufacturing systems.

  • In this study, a program has been developed to enable a simulation of spherical aberration - originated from a spherical surface and an aspheric surface - via ray tracing and calculation of the degree of spherical aberration. This process has been verified for the variation of spherical aberration generated from ray tracing for aspheric surfaces such as an oval, a parabola, and a hyperbola. By comparing it with the spherical surface, the principle and necessity of the aspheric surface lens design have been understood. In addition, it allows confirming the accuracy of the simulation by developing a ray tracing program in relation to the mirror plane of a parabola.

Development of an Analysis Tool for Production Time for Components Machined by Turning (선삭 가공 부품의 생산 시간 분석 툴 개발)

  • In this study, a tool was developed for analyzing production lead time in turning operations. It is expected to help to reduce machining time and to identify, for example, tool change intervals. The tool was developed using Visual Basic.Net and features a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to easily input cutting conditions and calculate the usage time and feeding distance for each cutting tool based on a G-code program. Object-oriented programming techniques were also used to encapsulate and classify complex logic, thereby efficiently organizing and managing the functions and data structures of this analysis tool. The analysis tool provides various outputs. It calculates the use time of each detailed process of the turning operation, the use time of each tool, the use time of each type of feeding, and also generates the data needed for cutting time analysis, which can be visualized in charts. The analysis tool developed in this study is expected to significantly contribute to improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes and increasing productivity, particularly, in the manufacturing of components requiring massive material removal, such as aircraft parts.

  • We have developed a software to predict failure time of the rock slope based on analysis of the data from real time displacement measurements with respect to time. The software consists of four modules that play roles in analytical methods such as inverse velocity method, log time-log velocity method, log velocity-log acceleration method and nonlinear least square method to estimate failure time. VisualBasic.NET on the MS Visual Studio platform was utilized as a development tool to efficiently implement the modules and the graphical user interface of the software. Displacement data obtained from laboratory physical model studies of plane sliding were used to explore the applicability of the software, and to evaluate the possibility of predicting potential slope failure. It seems possible to estimate failure time using developed software for sliding plane having exponential type of deformability.

  • Convolutional Networks (ConvNets) are powerful models that learn hierarchies of visual features, which could also be used to obtain image representations for transfer learning. The basic pipeline for transfer learning is to first train a ConvNet on a large dataset (source task) and then use feed-forward units activation of the trained ConvNet as image representation for smaller datasets (target task). Our key contribution is to demonstrate superior performance of multiple ConvNet layer features over single ConvNet layer features. Combining multiple ConvNet layer features will result in more complex feature space with some features being repetitive. This requires some form of feature selection. We use AdaBoost with single stumps to implicitly select only distinct features that are useful towards classification from concatenated ConvNet features. Experimental results show that using multiple ConvNet layer activation features instead of single ConvNet layer features consistently will produce superior performance. Improvements becomes significant as we increase the distance between source task and the target task.

  • An integrated operation method of production control system for chemical-product job-shops is presented in this paper. A possible application of real-time control system is suggested to handle data from laboratory materials requirements to finished product shipment. A low cost intra-net is constructed to be used as the system network and applications are developed using Visual Basic. CGI programming is done to interface the applications with necessary databases.
