This paper fills a gap in smart tourism research by investigating the link between online representations and their physical counterparts. This sort of phenomenology visualizes a doubled cultural mimesis that can be described by the story of the ship of Theseus, where the original is replaced by an ongoing process of installing new components. In this sense, social reality is conceptualized as having real cultural events and the production of cultural items as well as having digital reproductions that appear and circulate online. These are accessed by a variety of platforms where reality is simulated onsite through augmented reality technology or remotely through forms of virtual reality. This paper seeks to frame and to present this notion and its potential impacts on destination culture particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic in Korea.

Extended Reality (XR) is an immersive technology that combines the real and virtual worlds and is being actively researched across various industries. This study proposes a method for utilizing the Meta Quest 3, a head-mounted display (HMD) that provides mixed reality, outdoors for the first time by leveraging the GPS information from a smartphone. Augmented virtual objects are positioned using location information and the orientation. Additionally, by using the features of the Meta Quest 3, virtual objects are made to appear alongside the real world, allowing users to interact with virtual objects through hand gestures. This study aims to link present and past spaces by using location information and photographs on the HMD, providing a novel experience of freely traversing time and space.
This study aims to investigate that today's Mixed Reality Technology did not appear suddenly but has its beginnings in 20th century Visual and Interactive Art. First, Photographic Art expressed three-D on the two-dimensional plane and mixed images of reality and virtuality. Photogram made people experience both two-dimensional images and three-dimensional effects concurrently, and Photomontage combined various photos and mixed reality and virtuality. Next, Cinema tried to combine virtuality and reality using objets and CG. Early Cinema composed films and real objets. As computer technology developed, Cinema composed objet CG on real images and then tried background CG compositing. Finally, Telepresence Art tried a new possibility of Mixed Reality breaking the boundary between reality and virtuality, subject and object. It oscillates between virtual space in reality and real space in virtuality, or represents Mixed Reality by remote control of long distance participants. In the future, for the development and direction of Mixed Reality, there will be more need of referring to Visual and Interactive Art.

The number of Free-Form construction projects are increased by development of 3D parametric modeling technology. The reason of Free-Form Architecture's appearance is advance of digital technology. BIM simulation decision making support is inefficient because it is used in virtual reality. In this study, we developed "AR naviX" which is the digital contents of construction management based on AR for effective decision making support to Free-Form construction project. It reflects construction site by using site picture and video, or Laser scanning data. User feel high reality and is absorbed in augmented reality. So they can reduce the time of decision.

Alongside the development of communication technologies such as smart phone, 5G, advertisements which have been regarded as nexus of marketing behaviors are treated as surplus entities in our society now. Ad marketers have been focusing on storytelling advertisements via SNS or similar web-services. We are facing another big media changes such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality. Especially the current study probes Mixed Reality as the potential key of new storytelling brand marketing with discussing directions and insights based on the narrative transportation theory.
The biggest advantage of AR is that it allows unique experience in the real world through a virtual object. However, there is a limit in the marker techniques to do registration for the virtual object. Therefore, it is possible for a complication that only allows restrictive interaction to come up. This paper provides marker technique of the next generation which can supplement limitations of existing marker technique. Such marker is a combination of IR LED's, and is a convergence of LED VCL concepts of M2M. Environment where the user belongs to and their unique choice will be expressed into one context. Also, the context will be delivered to the system through OOK IR LED marker algorithm. Marker can be operated on the spot to change virtual objects according to the user's taste, registration can be done at the same time for several virtual objects, and control become possible.
In the upcoming post-app era, real-time, intelligent and immersive services such as autonomous vehicles, virtual secretaries, virtual reality, and augmented reality are expected to dominate. However, there is a growing demand for new networking and computing infrastructure capabilities because existing physical connection-oriented networks and centralized cloud-based service environments have inherent limitations to effectively accommodate these services. To this end, research on intelligent edge network computing technology is underway to analyze the contextual situation of human and things and to configure the service environment on the network edge so that the application services can be performed optimally. In this article, we describe the technology issues for edge network intelligence and introduce related research trends.
One of critical issues in the housing area is what strategies should be adopted for revitalizing contemporary communities in housing complex. It is expected that those strategies could encourage neighbourship and recover the existing community spaces. Based on the assumption that contemporary communities might have different characteristics from those of the traditional communities and spaces, this research aims to explore the possibility of new communities in a current context. With the development of the information communication technologies (ICT) and hardware systems, the environment would be capable of anticipating people's needs and then provide them with customization options to tailor the environment to their requirements. By incorporating the 'smart' paradigm, this paper introduces the concept of a smart community and space with the potential of mobile Augmented Reality(AR) as alternative strategies for activating the communities. The residents believe that existing common spaces need to be extendable and augmented by combining new technologies. The smart communities and spaces are expected to extend people's interaction to virtual world in aj real context, further combined with social network, it enables sustainable relationships among residents, contributina to a new type of community.
With the increasing use of high-performance mobile devices such as smartphones, users have been able to connect to the Internet anywhere, anytime, so that Location Based Services(LBSes) have been popular among the users in order to obtain personalized information associated with their locations. The services have advanced to provide the information realistically and intuitively by adopting Augmented Reality(AR) technology, where the technology utilizes various sensors embedded in the mobile devices. However, the services have inherent problems due to the small screen size of the mobile devices and the complexity of the real world environment. Overlapping contents on a small screen and user's possible movement should be taken into consideration in displaying the icons on objects that block user's environment such as trees and buildings. The problems mainly happen when the services use only user's location and sensor data to calculate the position of the displayed information. In order to solve the problems, this paper proposes a method that applies street data extracted from a digital map. The method uses the street data as well as the location and direction data to determine contents that are placed on both sides of a virtual street which augments the real street. With scrolling the virtual street, which means a virtual movement, some information far away from the location of the user can be identified without user's actual movement. Also the proposed method is implemented for region "Aenigol", and the efficiency and usefulness of the method is verified.

This study addresses the effectiveness of a VR model that is designed to relieve distress and improve communication during pediatric dental treatment for 3-9 year-old young patients. This is due to the challenging nature of the dental treatment for both young patients and pediatric dentists. The proposed model is designed to alleviate the unpleasant experience a young patient might go through during the dental treatment through providing a VR content to be displayed in on a head-mounted device during the treatment session. In addition, the model is designed to help decrease the frequent movement of the young patient during the dental treatment session by directing the patient's head to the immersive VR content. Furthermore, the model could solve the communication difficulties that might occur between pediatric dentists and young patients during the treatment session by showing live instructions related to adjusting body postures
