In order to establish the effective community village as planned, it is the most important factor in residents' participation at the stage of design process. Especially, community space, which is commonly used by all members, must be designed through consultation process of community members themselves to accommodate the needs of various daily activities. So, in this study, the participation process to design the common community facility is developed and the actual residents' participation workshop was conducted in Baek-Hwa village, which is being built on South Korea. Also, the space of community facilities was designed based on the direct opinions and needs of actual residents obtained by workshop process. The workshop was conducted two times: the first workshop was conducted for the design of common residents' facilities and the second was for trying to utilize the virtual designed space. During the workshop process, it is found that the positive participation of members of village is naturally occurred to design residents' space in the workshop process. As a result, most people want to make the space of gym, library, and dining room in spatial configuration. Among them, the hobby room was highly demanded. There is lots of demand for the joint activities and training program in common activity fields. Also, the prediction of the various occurrence so fun expected situations was requested in the game of creating rules and role-playing. In the conclusion, it was acknowledged the necessity of residents' participation design and the importance of communication between architects and residents for decision-making.
This study aims to examine the type of residents' participation in village making including the case of "Making Happiness Village" -in the Jeollanam-do province and "Village Making" -in Haenam-gun. The study examines the potential and effects of these projects, draws conclusions and suggests the future direction of village making projects. The results of this study are summarized below. "Making Happiness Village" should be evaluated in detail as it has contributed to the successful and development of traditional Korean residential culture, and has helped to activate and develop agricultural and fishing villages through the improvement of the residential environment and attraction of urban people into the rural area. It also showed the possibility of a project to be settled as a representative of Namdo satisfying the demand for sustainable development. In order to enhance the integrity of a village making project, its master plan must be established and utilized by considering the current status and characteristics of a village, improving its physical environment and seeking a method for economic activation. Policy and economic support from central government and local governments are also required for such a project. The residents' autonomous organization,necessary for unifying the residents' capacity, must organize their own group, such as "Residents' Conference for Village Making (tentative name)" to integrate the existing organizations (women's association, youth group, etc) and establish a conference system to discuss and solve the current issues of the village.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the expectations toward a tele-health surveillance system by residents of an information network village. Method: A descriptive study was conducted using interviews with a questionnaire. Of the households in the village, 24 were selected for inclusion in a pilot study. All of the residents from these households, for a total of 67, participated in the survey. Result: Expectations for promotion of health by a tele-health surveillance system were higher in residents with higher level of education. Expectations for effectiveness of disease management and promotion of health status by a tele-health surveillance system were higher in residents with family history or experience with emergencies. The higher scores for health knowledge and health concerns were associated with higher expectations for effectiveness of disease management and promotion of health by a tele-health surveillance system Conclusion: Analysis of the characteristic of the residents should precede implementation of a tele-health surveillance system in any location as expectations for tele-health surveillance system differ according to the characteristics.

Village formation through landscape agreements of all things has sufficient expectation effects in that it outgrows the existing hardware- and development-oriented methods and realizes software- and policy-centered measures developed on the basis of environments and amenity. Village formation through landscape agreements is a work toward future in the long term. Villages are moving in the flow of time. Recognition on life environments and changes in consciousness of residents may be the most direct head start showing the possibility of village formation. However, the signs of such changes are yet uncertain and it is difficult to expect the changes in conscious ness would lead to realization and accomplishment. Therefore, it is needed to construct a society-wide system in which administration, experts, and local residents altogether support resident-led village formation, as well as efforts to enhance and expand the sprouts of hope.
This study was conducted to analyze the policy impacts of the '2014 Rural Field Forum'. From 2013, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs implemented Rural Field Forum to push forward rural development of inhabitants' initiative. In this study, we have evaluated that Rural Field Forum has crucial impacts on residents' competence, region capability and driving force of project by targeting the 374 residents of 350 villages in 9 states who participated in 2014 Rural Field Forum. We also sought for the solution to institutional improvement. Futhermore we analyzed each of leader group and normal residents for departmentalization of policy effects. Taken together, the analysis reveals that: 1)Rural field forum is demonstrated to have a positive effect on the establishment and execution of village development plan and all of its necessary components. 2)Regarding the effect on the village capabilities, the understanding and recognition of village organization was shown to be improved. 3)About regional capabilities, the interest in village project was advanced. 4)In terms of the project execution, Rural field forum turned out to affect the village council processes positively. 5)lastly, between the leader and the residents, the difference effectiveness between them revealed, with the same directivity and considerably bigger effect felt by the leader than by the residents overall.

This study is to explore implications for sustainable development of Yangdong Village in Gyeongju through identifying effect of its designation as a World Cultural Heritage on residents' quality of life. The following are the findings achieved by empirical analysis. First, eight valuable factors of placeness were identified through factor analysis, about which residents were especially conscious in terms of "living condition", "cultural environment", "economic QOL", "natural environment conservation", "sense of community", "cooperative facilities", "control over increasing population", "transport environment". Second, the importance -satisfaction scores of identified 8 factors were found very high in importance showing relatively low level of low level of satisfaction. Especially, what caused residents's low QOL was economic status-concerned factor showing the lowest QOL index, and other factors such as cooperative facilities and transport environment negatively impacted on resident's QOL as well. Also, it was revealed that residents had a positive attitude toward entering of their village into UNESCO world heritage sites with hope that it would improve their economic QOL. Based on these results, implications for sustainability of Yangdong Village and research limitations were discussed, and further research direction was supposed.
The purpose of this study is to grasp effectiveness of Mountain Village Package Development Work. Mountain Village Package Development Work was started for the welfare and economic activation plan of residents of village from 1995. We want to grasp a practical economic and welfare of residents of village through the village that is enforced Mountain Village Package Development Work after two-three years. The process of this study is as follows. First, we select the village that Mountain Village Package Development Work finished. Second, we grasp the status of Mountain Village Package Development Work through a field study on destination village. Third, we investigate the resident satisfaction.

The purpose of this research is to present basic data for the residents, experts, and administrators to establish sustainable and future-oriented experience villages by investigating the operational realities of rural and mountain experience villages that have currently been promoted as the government-supported projects. First, in order to establish a sustainable experience village, each of the residents, experts and administrators who are the principal agents for cultivating the village should perform their role appropriately and build an organic cooperative system. The residents should have a sense of ownership and form a sense of solidarity by organizing communal consultation system. The experts should be able to present feasible project plans. The administrators need to have posture of understanding from the viewpoint of residents. In order to establish sustainable experience villages, ecological, cultural, and social values should be conveyed preferentially, and through this, the living spaces like farm villages should be formed.
The purpose of this study is to identify the conflict between residents and governments in partnership arising from the designation of National Important Agricultural Heritage for Damyang Samdari village and to suggest directions for improvement. To this end, residents of Samdari Village in Damyang, designated as an important national agricultural heritage, were interviewed. Interviews were analyzed through grounded theory, categorized into open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, and a paradigm model was constructed. Through this, the central phenomena of resident participation patterns currently appearing in the village were identified, and causal, contextual, and intervening conditions were analyzed. Causal conditions were analyzed as one-sided administrative treatment, assortment matching project, one-time plan, excessive dependence of residents and economic damages of residents at the beginning of the designation of national important agricultural heritage. As a result, conflict between residents and local governments occurred as a central phenomenon, and contextual conditions such as decline in the competitive of bamboo resources and frequent change in managers were also affecting the central phenomenon. As intervening conditions to alleviate the central phenomenon, there are local government's purchase of bamboo fields and fragmentary business effects. The action taken by the residents and officials in response to a fixed conflict is called an action-interaction strategy. Residents refused to change and settled in reality, and local governments avoided conflict. From the beginning of the designation to the present, the villagers gradually lost interest in the National Important Agricultural Heritage due to problems and conflicts that occurred in the process of forming a partnership in the National Important Agricultural Heritage project. Based on the analyzed model, a plan to build the partnership standards on Damyang bamboo field to secure the sustainability of the field and increase the practicality of resident participation, that is partnership, was suggested.
This study was designed to understand the change of rural landscape and to consider problems followed by development restrictions lifted for Neobiul Village in Ansan City, Korea. Physical landscape changes were comprehended by a field study and interview with local residents, and the residents' perception regarding the landscape changes were analyzed with the REP investigation method. The results can be summarized into the following three points: First, due to the lift of development restrictions and the deregulation of land use, the number of factories and warehouses for rent increased, which became a new source of income for the village. Second, the residents' complaints increased due to the increased traffic volume and waste from a sudden influx of factories and warehouses, which could not be handled by a small farming village. Third, a mix of landscape combining both city and farming village was formed due to the influx of external capital and the need of rental income, although the residents rather wanted Neobiul Village to become a residential village than a factory location. Furthermore, even in the farmlands near the village where development restrictions have not been lifted, the level of dependence on the farming industry has decreased as a consequence of the increase in farmland rent and weekend farms. This paper confirmed that the change of rural landscape followed by lifted development restrictions affects the everyday life of residents living in Neobiul Village. This study has significant implications in that it suggests a case showing the effects of national policies such as lifting development restrictions for rural villages in suburban areas.
