  • 원인과 결과간의 위상과 work사이의 관계를 correlation function의 견지에서 검토하였고 continuous signal에 포함되어 있는 redundancy를 지적하여 sampling취급의 근거를 auto correlation면에서 보였다. 두 신호사이의 Correlation의 시간변동을 보여줄 수 있는 Time Dependent Correlation Function을 정의하여 PLL회로에서 그 유편성을 보였다. 끝으로 다상포낙선검파법에 의한 특성의 개선을 T.D.Correlation Furction에 의한 Correlation Analysis를 통하려 입증하였다.

  • Prediction of damage caused by low-velocity impact in laminated composite plate is an important problem faced by designers using composites. Not only the inplane stresses but also the interlaminar normal and shear stresses playa role in estimating the damage caused. The work reported here is an effort in getting better predictions of damage in composite plate using DNS approach. In the DNS model, we discretize the composite plates through separate modeling of fiber and matrix for the local microscopic analysis. Through comparison with the homogenized model. In the view of microscopic mechanics with DNS model, interlaminar stress behaviors in the inside of composite materials is investigated and compared with the results of the homogenized model which has been used in the conventional approach of impact analysis.

  • The significance of intellectual property in the knowledge-based society has been increasing and as a result, the patent customer's demand for a top quality patent administration service has increased as well. Therefore, Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO) adopted 6 sigma as a tool for KIPO's innovation to improve the quality of patent administration and enhance customer satisfaction. KIPO's steadfast promotion of 6 sigma resulted in many successful outcomes such as improvement of policy and service process from customer's point view, streamlining the administrative procedures, increased work efficiency, capability enhancement of core personnel, and so on. Since 6 sigma has proved itself to be equipped with features suitable for innovation in public sector, it can be used as an extensible innovation tool to meet the challenges in rapidly changing administration environment and to achieve a competitive edge.

A Comparative Study of Structure and Theme in Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

  • This paper will discuss how the structure and theme develop and compare between the Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is generally considered as the finest of the English romances. The striking feature of this poem is its tight and organized structure, whereas most of the romances are loose in structure. This poem is composed of four fits containing traditional elements of romance: the Beheading Game; the Temptation and Hunting; the Exchange of Winnings; Returning. This process is linked together systematically, and as it goes on, certain external elements of romance come into view. There are heroic ideal, Christian humiliation and chastity, so the two themes or motifs are combined to produce a work of impressive organic unity.

  • In this work, numerical experiments ave conducted to find out the optimal shape of flapping-airfoil using thickness variation airfoils. In the previous study of flapping-airfoil, we had found that the thrust efficiency of thicker airfoil is better than thinner one, but the latter has higher thrust coefficient. Therefore, we have combined thin(NACA0009) and thick(NACA0015)airfoil to overcome these demerits of each airfoil. Using this combined airfoil, we can achieve acceptable aerodynamic performances from thrust efficiency and coefficient points of view. In order to computational study, we have used parallel-implemented incompressible Wavier-Stokes solver. Computational results show how to design leading and trailing edge shapes.

IS 및 기능관리자의 시각에서 본 시스템분석에 필요한 직무능력 (Job Skill Importance for Systems Analysts From the Viewpoint of IS and Functional Managers)

  • Increasingly, systems analysts are expected to have behavioral and administrative skills as well as technical skills. This paper presents the results of a nationwide survey of 739 information systems (IS) managers (220 responses) and other functional managers (178) regarding the importance of various skills needed by systems analysts. The findings indicate that IS managers and three functional area managers differ in their perceptions of the importance of skills that system analysts should possess. These differences suggest that IS managers consider the ability to work with others more important than do functional managers. In contrast, three functional manager groups seem to view technical areas more importantly and thus may have greater expectations for technical performance. Also the results indicate that a positive relationship exists between possession of the identified skills and systems effectiveness.

  • The Vehicle Dynamic Simulator(VDS) is a key equipment of the performance verification of attitude control subsystem and it simulates the real dynamic environment that spacecraft undergoes during mission operation. All the software models and hardware interfaces necessary for the closed-loop simulation of the spacecraft dynamics are implemented. Using VDS, KOMPAT-2 attitude control logic functions and performance was verified. In this paper, the hardware and software configurations of KOMPSAT-2 VDS was described briefly and the information flow and exchanges between software models and actual hardwares during close loop simulation was described in the systematic point of view.

  • Recently, with the increasing of construction works, large construction equipment are used to reduce the term of work and labor cost in construction field. Therefore, construction equipment noise has caused much annoyance for a number of dweller in nearby construction field and it has become a very serious problem in our living environment. Neverthless, in our country, adequite guidelines for the construction equipment noise are very deficiency because of the lack of basic data and insufficient research works. From this point of view, this study attempts to survey the vertical SPL distribution of piling noise by oil pressure method in construction field. This study also present a basic data found a effective plans for piling noise by oil pressure method.

Wear Characteristics of Atomic Force Microscope Tip

  • Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) has been widely used in micro/nano-scale studies and applications for the last few decades. In this work, wear characteristics of silicon-based AFM tip was investigated. AFM tip shape was observed using a high resolution SEM and the wear coefficient was approximately calculated based on Archard's wear equation. It was shown that the wear coefficient of Si and ${Si}_3$$N_4$ tips were in the range of ${10}^{-1}$~${10}^{-3}$and ${10}^{-3}$~${10}^{-4}$, respectively. Also, the effect of relative humidity and sliding distance on adhesion-induced tip wear was investigated. It was found that the tip wear has more severe for harder counter surface materials. Finally, the probable wear mechanism was analyzed from the adhesive and abrasive interaction point of view.

  • In this paper we discuss the contrastive nature of formalism and functionalism in linguistics. Though the mainstreams of linguistic analysis have been focused on the form and function, they have been challenged from each other's strong points. On the one hand, the formal description has been studied in the tradition of generative grammar. On the other hand, the functional nature has played a crucial role in the framework of language use. It seems undesirable to argue that there is one-sided bias toward any type of linguistic approach. I try to present a balanced view of these two contrastive approaches. We also argue that there should be a cooperative work in developing the mutual growth of linguistic theory.
