Analysis on behavior of MLCC considering material properties for BaTiO3 (Barium Titanate 의 재료 특성을 고려한 MLCC 의 거동 분석)

  • MLCCs are used broadly in electronic industry like smart phone and TV. Although they are fabricated in small size and have high capacitance, there are acoustic noise problems to reduce comfort of user. Acoustic noise results from linear piezoelectricity and nonlinear electrostriction of $BaTiO_3$ in MLCC and there are some researches on MLCC vibration under AC electric field. When only AC electric field without DC bias is applied to MLCC, fundamental frequency response is affected by piezoelectricity and second-harmonic frequency response shows electrostrictive vibration. In this study we get vibration shape of MLCC under AC electric field for each frequency and analysis on the mechanism of MLCC vibration affected by piezoelectricity and electrostriction.

  • This study developes the vibration model to estimate the vibration energy of compact disc player's mainbase assembly which is supported by dampers and springs, and this model is verified by experiment. From frequency response function, we investigate the natural frequency and mode shape in the up/down direction for mainbase assembly. In order to determine the analysis frequency band, we investigate the excitation frequency of road from the vehicle test. As the characteristics of dampers and springs are changed, we carry out the sensitivity analysis of vibration energy for mainbase assembly which include optical pick-up and feeding system. And we found out that the properties of damper were dominant element in the vibration energy of mainbase assembly's CG(center of gravity).

  • In this study, finite element modeling and structural vibration analyses of a gyrocopter have been conducted considering dynamic hub-loads due to rotating blades. For this research, 3D CATIA models for most mechanical parts are exactly prepared and assembled into the final aircraft configuration. Then the dynamic finite element model including several non-structural parts are constructed based on the exact 3D CAD data. Computational structural dynamics technique based on finite element method is applied using both MSC/NASTRAN and developed in-house code which can largely reduce the pre and postprocessing time of general transient dynamic analyses. Modal based transient and frequency response analyses are used to efficiently investigate vibration characteristics. The results include natural frequency comparison for different fuel and pilot conditions, fundamental natural mode shapes, frequency responses and transient acceleration responses of the present gyrocopter model.

  • Previously study on structural design of the main wing of the twenty-seat class WIG (Wing in Ground Effect) craft. In the final design, three spars construction was selected for safety in the critical flight load, and the Carbon-Epoxy material was selected for lightness and structural stability. In this study, the forced vibration analysis was performed on the composite main wing structure of the twenty-seat class WIG craft with two-stroke pusher type reciprocating engine. The vibration analysis based on the finite element method was performed using a commercial FEM code, MSC/NASTRAN. Excitations for the frequency response analysis were assumed as the Y-mode (lateral mode), the Z-mode (vertical mode) and the $M_{xyz}$-mode (twisted mode) which are typical main vibration modes of engine. And excitations for the transient response analysis were assumed as the X-mode (longitudinal mode) with the oscillating propeller thrust which occurs in operation.

Time-History Analysis on Structure Dynamic Response for the SDOF System of Ground Vibration by the Newmark $\beta$ method (Newmark $\beta$ 방법에 의한 지반진동의 단자유도계 구조물 동적응답 시간이력 해석)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate an effect of ground vibration caused by blasting on the concrete brick structure. For the purpose, dynamic response time-history of the structure assumed single degree of freedom (SDOF) system and vibration time-history directly measured from the structure were examined, using Newmark $\beta$ method based on data measured at ground. The time-history was interpreted from the measured data of ground and structure in single hole blasting. Vibration magnitude between ground vibration and structure in single hole blasting and 20 ms interval blasting was about three times and was shown larger vibration on the structure. By time-history analysis of structure dynamic response, the value was almost the same one with the data measured from the structure. It indicates that the vibration characteristics of structures may be predicted on the basis of the ground vibration data measured from the sub-ground of structure.

Response Characteristics of Forced Vibration Model with Sinusoidal Exciting Force (정현파로 가진한 강제진동 해석과 응답특성)

  • The characteristics of forced vibration with excited sinusoidal force was introduced. Also, numerical analyses and FRF in frequency domain were performed in detail. In this regard, the responses of displacement, velocity and acceleration were investigated in a forced vibration model. The FRF characteristics in real and imaginary part around natural frequency are also discussed. This response approach of forced vibration in time domain is used for the identification and monitoring of sinusoidal forced vibration. For acquiring a displacement, velocity and acceleration, a numerical technique of Runge-Kutta-Gill method was performed. For the FRF(frequency response function), These responses are used. Also, the FRF can represent the intrinsic characteristics of the forced vibration. These performed results and analysis are successful in each damped condition for the forced vibration model. After numerical analysis of the different mass, damping and stiffness, the forced vibration response characteristics with sinusoidal force was discriminated considering its amplitude and frequency simultaneously.

  • Unlike structures in the air, the vibration analysis of a submerged or floating structure such as offshore structures or ships is possible only when the fluid-structure interaction is understood, as the whole or part of the structure is in contact with water. Specially, the importance of the added mass is not necessary to say like the submerged vehicle, all of the hull body, is positioned in the water. This paper introduce two method to find natural frequency in consideration of fluid-structure modal coupled vibration analysis. The purpose of this study is to analyze of the vibration characteristic of submerged vehicle to obtain the anti-vibration design data, which could be used in the preliminary design stage data. Underwater pressure hull of submerged vehicle is used as the model of this study. The F.E.M model is meshed by shell and beam element. Also, considering of the inner hull weight, mass element is distributed in the direction of hull length. Numerical calculations are accomplished using the commercial B.E.M code. The characteristics of natural frequency(eigenvalues), mode shape(eigenvectors) and frequency-displacement response are analyzed. The results of this study will be used as the useful design data in preliminary anti-vibration design stage.

  • A Simplified Finite Element Method(FEM) model has been developed for the Exhaust System. For the verification of the usage of the developed model , Natural Frequencies, Mode Shapes and Frequency Response Function have been compared between numerical analysis and experimental result. It shows that the developed numerical model also can be utilized to prove the Stress distribution of the Exhaust System if it can be adopted for the vibration analysis adequately.

  • Currently about 60 contries in the world require earthquake resistant structural design in case of multistory building constructions. In these cases the equivalent lateral force procedure is commonly adopted because of its simplicity and convenience. This procedure, however, is developed based mainly on the first vibration mode response of building structure. The dynamic analysis of tall building shows that the effect of higher modes of vibration on the response of the building can not be neglected. In this paper, the effect of higher modes of vibration on seismic response is evaluated through modal analysis of tall building structures. On the basis of evaluation results, an improved procedure is to be proposed for the extended application of the equivalent lateral force procedure.

  • This paper presents a new technique of mathematical treatment using a finite element model for analyzing the vibration of the towed line array. Since the towed line array has the axisymmetricity, axisymmetric elements are used in finite element modeling for the towed array structure. The fluid-structure interaction is also considered. The array consists of a series of identical substructures which can include internal structures such as spacers, hydrophones and ropes. That periodicity of substrucutres permits the substructure synthesis technique using characteristic wave guide for analyzing the response of towed array system. This synthesis technique can reduce the cost of computing the array response. It is suggested that a response of towed array can be computed by the finite element method and substructure synthesis technique using wave guide. Several experiments for towed array were performed to verify the present computation technique. The predicted vibration for the towed array shows good agreement with the measured result.
