Blank Shape Design Process for a Hot Stamped Front Pillar and its Experimental Verification (프론트필러의 핫스템핑 공정설계를 위한 블랭크형상의 최적화 연구)

  • Hot stamping is a forming method that offers various advantages such as superior mechanical properties, good formability, and very small springback. However, relatively large-sized parts, such as front pillars, exhibit poor formability when hot stamped due to the limited material flow and thickness reduction imparted by the process. This reduction in thickness can also lead to cracks. One of the reasons is the relatively high friction between the sheet and the die. In this study, in order to obtain the optimal conditions for hot stamping of front pillars, various process parameters were studied and analyzed using the sheet forming software, J-STAMP. The effects of various parameters such as the die structure, blank shape, blank holding force, punch speed, clearance(upper and lower dies) and distance block were analyzed and compared.

  • The authors analyzed harmonic current based loss of a high temperature superconducting (HTS) DC model cable. The loss in HTS DC cable is generated due to the variation of magnetic field caused by harmonic current in a HVDC transmission system. The authors designed and fabricated two meters of HTS DC model cable for verification of real loss characteristic. In this paper, the loss characteristics caused by harmonic current in the HTS DC model cable are analyzed using commercial finite element method software package. The loss of the HTS DC cable is much less than the loss of the HTS AC cable but the loss should be considered to decide a proper capacity of cooling system.

  • A research shows that a new category of software, Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC), is now emerging, allowing discrete manufacturers to once again distinguish themselves on their products and innovations. CPC permits discrete manufacturers to significantly improve the core processes around the management functions associated with the complete product life cycle that are the basis of their existence. As a way to develop computing tools of CPC to support a design process of product, a web-based design supporting system was constructed in the paper. The system consists of C-Product system and Net Meeting Communication system to improve communications between designers and persons for verification of design. The product data files of C-Product system were designed by Pro/Engineer and converted to 3D Viewer format for being used in the web browser. Also, Net Meeting Communication system and Database were developed using ASP and Microsoft SQL 2000 Server to share diverse files that can be utilized to design on the web in real time.

  • VCU(Vehicle Control Unit) was developed to decrease the wire weight and make it easy to control the power of ECU in bimodal tram. VCU consists of CC(Central Computer), DU(Display Unit), TU(Terminal Unit) with PCB. CC is a main controller with progamming and DU displays the status with graphic symbols and letters. TU with PCB inputs and output the voltage controlled by CC. They communicate with CAN(Controller Area Network). VCU had been verified with software reliability verification test and environmental hardware test. This paper has shown the test results and application to bimodal tram.

  • 소프트웨어 개발에서 나타나는 많은 오류는 요구 사항에 대한 정확한 이해의 부족에서 기인된다. 따라서 분석 단계에서 요구사항을 정확하게 나타내는 활동은 전체 소프트웨어의 신뢰성에 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 요구 검증은 요구 분석 활동에서 산출되는 정보가 요구 문서의 정보를 바르게 나타내는가를 검증하는 활동이다. 본 연구에서는 객체 지향 소프트웨어의 개발에서 요구 검증을 수행하기 위해 OFL(Object-oriented Formal Language)과 질의 추출을 적용하였다. OFL은 객체 지향 형식 상태변이사항(Formal state transition specification)으로 형식 언어가 기자고 있는 명확성을 유지하며 분석 활동의 결과를 체계적으로 제시한다. 이러한 결과와 요구 문서와의 비교를 위하여 질의 추출이 수행된다. 이는 질의를 통하여 요구 문서에서는 나타나는 정보를 체계적으로 정리하여 개발 의뢰자가 제시한 요구 사항과 개발자가 제시하는 요구 사양간에 일치성과 완전성이 존재함을 검증한다. 이러한 요구 검증은 요구 사양의 신뢰성뿐만 아니라 개발되는 소프트웨어의 신뢰성을 향상시킨다.

QZSS L5 Signal Processing Results in Korea (한국에서 QZSS 위성의 L5 신호처리 결과)

  • Launch of the first Quasi-Zentih Satellite System (QZSS) satellite, dubbed Michibiki, took place September 11, 2010 and technical and application verification of the satellite is being carried out. This paper presents the results obtained from processing of the L5 signal transmitted from the QZSS satellite. The QZSS L5 signal is collected in ETRI, Korea. And then, the acquisition and tracking are performed by the L5 software receiver implemented by ETRI. The tracking loop of FLL, PLL, and DLL, the EPL correlator output, and the C/No output results show that the QZSS L5 signal is normally processed. Finally, the paper demonstrates that the QZSS L5 signal could be used as GPS satellite based augmentation system in Korea as well as Japan.

  • In a large scale robot system, one of important problems is software integration, which involves three elements: modularity, reusability and stability. By these issues, the degree of convenience of system integration, its required time and the performance of the system stability can be determined. In addition, the convenience of system management can be determined by the degree of completion of service components. This paper explains the template based service component (TBSC) for the integration of service components in networked robot. The important characteristics of TBSC are automatical execution and recovery process by a PnP supporting robot framework, which helps a system operator to manage a robot system comfortably. For easy implementation and system stability, we provide a service component creator and a verification tool to developers.

  • Special-purpose microcontrollers PLCs have been widely used in the area of industrial automation. For the research of analysis and verification for PLC programs, first of all we have to specify formal sematics of PLC programming languages. This paper defines formally the operational semantics of LD language. After we transform the graphical language LD into its textual representation Symbolic LD, we give semantics of Symbolic LD since LD language is a graphical language. This paper defines the natural sematics of Symbolic LD and formalizes it in Coq proof assistant.

Design and Development of an Advanced Real-Time Satellite Simulator

  • An advanced real-time satellite simulator (ARTSS) has been developed to support the ground operations activities of the ETRI satellite control system, such as testing of the system facilities, validation of flight control procedures, verification of satellite commands as well as training of the ground operators. The design of ARTSS is based on the top-down approach and makes use of a modular programming to ensure flexibility in modification and expansion of the system. Graphics-based monitoring and control facilities enhance the satellite simulation environment. The software spacecraft model in ARTSS simulates the characteristics of a geostationary communication satellite using a momentum bias three-axis stabilization control technique. The system can be also interfaced with a hardware payload subsystem such as Ku-band communication transponder to enhance the simulator capability. Therefore, ARTSS is a high fidelity satellite simulation tool that can be used on low-cost desk top computers. In this paper, we describe the design features, the simulation models and the real-time operating functions of the simulator.
