The non-preiodic fluctuation of the engine torque appears to be the major source of the torsional vibration of the automotive driveline. The reduction of this torsional vibration hs become a significant problem along with the requirements of higher performance. The shuffle(tip-in, tip-out) is the transient vibration phenomenon of a vehicle which appears at the sudden change of an accelerator under traveling. By executing of an experiment and a simulation using a model, it has become possible to obtain the design parameter of a driveline for the torsional vibration. This paper presents an experimental and theoretical research on the transient vibration phenomenon of a vehicle which appears at the sudden change of an accelerator under traveling. A dynamic model for the automotive driveline was developed, and all parameters of the mmdel were evaluated with experimental data. The results are as follows: (1) The lower the gea ratio of the transmission is, the more the transient vibration phenomenon of a vehicle appears clearly. (2) The transient vibration phenomenon of a vehicle is affected by the design parmeter of the driveline.
In this paper, the process of predicting efficient durability performance for vibration durability test of automobile parts using vibration test load on automobile fuel tank is presented. First of all, the common standard load that can be applied to the initial development process of the automobile was used for the fuel tank and the vulnerability of the fuel tank to the vibration fatigue load was identified through frequency response analysis. In addition, the vulnerability of the fuel tank was re-enacted through vibration durability test results, and the scale factor was applied to the standard load. In order to predict the vibration durability performance required for detailed design, vibration fatigue analysis was performed on the developed vehicle with the frequency of vibration severity equivalent to the durability test, and the vulnerability and life span of the fuel tank were identified through the process of applying weights to these selected standard loads, thereby reducing the test time of the development vehicle.
Three dimensional coupled bending-torsion dynamic vibrations of thin-walled open section beam subjected to moving vehicle are investigated by transfer matrix method. Through adopting the idea of Newmark-${\beta}$ method, the partial differential equations of structural vibration can be transformed to the differential equations. Then, those differential equations are solved by transfer matrix method. An iterative scheme is proposed to deal with the coupled bending-torsion terms in the governing vibration equations. The accuracy of the presented method is verified through two numerical examples. Finally, with different eccentricities of vehicle, the torsional vibration of thin-walled open section beam and vertical and rolling vibration of truck body are investigated. It can be concluded from the numerical results that the torsional vibration of beam and rolling vibration of vehicle increase with the eccentricity of vehicle. Moreover, it can be observed that the torsional vibration of thin-walled open section beam may have a significant nonlinear influence on vertical vibration of truck body.

The forced vibration characteristics for two impulse forces with time lag was discussed in the vehicle dull progress model. Detailed numerical analyses of the time domain were performed systematically. By the two exciting impulse forces, the responses of displacement, the velocity, and the acceleration were investigated in detail for the vehicle's vibration. Notably, the forced vibration responses in the time domain can be used to identify and monitor several vehicle vibration models. In order to define the responses of displacement, the velocity, and the acceleration, we applied a numerical technique (i.e., the Runge-Kutta-Gill method[1,2]). These variables were subsequently used to analyze the vehicle's vibration according to the time lapse and while it passed over a bump stock; moreover, the characteristics of the variables were analyzed in detail according to their force conditions. Finally, the intrinsic characteristics of the forced vibration were discussed in the context of the automobile model. Overall, our results indicate that the tested method can be successfully applied under different damped conditions.

This paper addresses the results of experimental and analytical study on the effects of dynamic interaction between vehicle and bridge on modal properties of bridge. Based on ambient vibration test and vehicle impact test on a bridge, it is found that the natural frequencies of bridge are varied by vehicle passing. Analytical studies for the effects of vehicle position, speed, damping, mass ratio and frequency ratio on bridge-vehicle interaction are carried out using complex eigenvalue analysis and numerical integration in time domain. The results show that vehicle properties except speed cause significant change of natural frequency as well as damping of bridge.

Passengers and mounted equipments on a vehicle are exposed to the vibration when it is driven on the road. To minimize the vibration and improve the dynamic characteristics of a vehicle are important factors. Those are changed by modifying parameters of the vehicle. To save development cost and time, simulation methods using vibration model have been widely used before making the real vehicle. In this paper two aimed functions, displacement between wheels and the body and acceleration of the body, have been defined for the parameter sensitivity analysis of the large vehicle. Full Vehicle Model having 11 degrees of freedom applied to solve those issues.

Vehicle body frame stiffness affects the dynamic and static characteristics. Vehicle frame structure performance is greatly affected by crossmember and joint design. While the structural characteristic of these joint vary widely, there is no known tool currently in use that quickly predicts joint stiffness early in design cycle. This paper present the joint design factors affecting on low frequency vibration. The joint factors are joint panel thickness, flange width and weld point space. To study the effect on vehicle low frequency vibration, case studies for these factors are performed. The result can present design guide for high-stiffness vehicle.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the parameters of the suspension system in railway rolling-stock for KT-23 type passenger vehicle. According to the results of simulation and the small scale vehicle test. Optimal condition was obtained for the stiffness ratio of the primary spring and secondary spring of the suspension system. When the stiffness ratio was Increased, the vortical vibration was increased on the car body for empty and weight car. The result of this study are stable to use of the optimum parameter of the ride duality of KT-23 type vehicle. Also, it is usefull to development of full scale vehicle dynamomer

A variable friction damper for vehicle driveline has been proposed. This new torsional damper system uses a solenoid as an actuator to vary friction force of the damper. To verify the idea of using a solenoid in a variable damper system, the test fixture and the dampers are made and tested. Also, to find out the range of damper friction forces that influence the vehicle driveline vibration, a mathematical model of the driveline had been developed and simulated. Test and simulation results show that, within electric current used in the vehicle electric system, the solenoid can develop enough friction force that will surpass resonance in the driveline of 1.5 L Gasoline engine vehicle during acceleration.
This is a study on the natural vibration characteristics of Vehicle frame. Nowadays, many trucks freight the over-load, do the car designers consider the over-load about 200% in the design. It's necessary to make the model of a vehicle and simulate it for the test of driving condition, durability and vibration behavior before the vehicle is manufactured. If it is possible to make a simulation using the static and dynamic analysis, this is very useful in accomplishing an optimal design of the vehicle. In this paper, we studied the vibration characteristics of a truck body frame. The automobile body frame model for experiment is made smaller than real size frame with the ratio of 1/10. The vibration characteristics of a frame is considered as one of main factors in analyzing and improving the problem for ride comfort, noise and vibration reduction. Therefore, we experimented two method to neglect the nonlinearity. First is bolting and second is welding at the joint section. We compared computer simulation results and experimental data.
