In this paper, research was conducted to prevent various safety accidents that may occur from infant vehicles carrying children and to use infant vehicles easier. In order to prevent the infant vehicle from driving without protection, a brake function is mounted on the infant vehicle wheels using a pressure sensor and a sub motor, and a pressure sensor and an LCD are used to determine whether a seat belt is fastened to prevent the infant from falling from the infant vehicle. In addition, it is designed to turn on the warning light when exceeding a certain temperature and humidity using LCD and LED so that infants can be in a pleasant environment when using a baby vehicle.

In order to satisfy the requirements of time reduction and cost saving for development of electronic control systems(ECU) in automotive industry, the applications of a standardized real-time operating system(RTOS) and a communication protocol to ECUs are increased. In this study, a body control module(BCM) that employs OSEK/VDX(open system and corresponding interfaces for automotive electronics/vehicle distributed executive) OS tour the RTOS and a controller area network(CAN) fur the communication protocol is designed, and the performances of the system are evaluated. The BCM controls doors, mirrors, and windows of the vehicle through the in-vehicle network. To identify all the transmitted and received control messages, a PC connected with the CAN communication protocol behaves as a CAN bus emulator. The control system based upon in-vehicle network improves the system stability and reduces the number of wiring harness. Furthermore it is easy to maintain and simple to add new features because the system is designed based on the standards of RTOS and communication protocol.

Traditional channel models for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication usually assume fixed velocity in static scattering environment. In the realistic scenarios, however, time-variant velocity for V2V results in non-stationary statistical properties of wireless channels. Dynamic scatterers with random velocities and directions have been always utilized to depict the non-stationary statistical properties of the channel. In this paper, a non-stationary geometry-based cooperative scattering channel model is proposed for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) V2V communication systems, where a birth-death process is used to capture the appearance and disappearance dynamic properties of moving scatterers that reflect the time-variant time correlation and Doppler spectrum characteristics. Moreover, our model has more straight and concise to study the impact of the vehicular traffic density on channel characteristics and thus avoid complicated procedure in deriving the analytical expressions of the channel parameters and functions. The numerical results validate our analysis and demonstrate that setting important parameters of our model can appropriately build up more purposeful measurement campaigns in the future.

While the conventional vehicle's Head-Units played relatively simple roles (e.g., control of heating ventilation and air conditioning, the radio reception), they have been evolving into vehicle-driver interface with the advent of the concept of Connected Car on top of a rapid development of ICT technology. The Head-Unit is now successfully extended as an IVI (In Vehicle Infotainment) that can operate various functions on multimedia, navigation, information with regards to vehicle's parts (e.g. air pressure, oil gauge, etc.). In this paper, we propose a platform architecture for IVI devices required to achieve the goal as a connected car. Connected car platform (CoCaP) consists of vehicle selective gateway (VSG) for receiving and controlling data from major components of a vehicle, application framework including native and web APIs required to request VSG functionality from outside, and service framework for driver assistance. CoCaP is implemented using Tizen IVI and Android on hardware platforms manufactured for IVI such as Nexcom's VTC1010 and Freescale's i.MX6q/dl, respectively. For more practical verification, CoCaP platform was applied to an real-world finished vehicle. And it was confirmed the vehicle's main components could be controlled using various devices. In addition, by deriving several services for driver assistance and developing them based on CoCaP, this platform is expected to be available in various ways in connected car and ITS environments.

Vehicular communication is one of representative convergence technology which combines information technology and vehicle industry. Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) technology is vehicular communication standard which is widely used in the world. In this paper, we introduce service realization of WAVE based vehicular communication systems in the practical testbed. We review the overall WAVE based systems in brief and introduce the testbed. Then, we investigate various applications using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Based on realization of systems, we discuss practical implementation issues and the convergence area of WAVE systems.
Recently, The TCN(Train Communication Network} as the distributed control systems for electric vehicles, which is the international standard of the intra vehicle communication, actively recognizes variations and supports reconfiguration of the train network when a vehicle is separated or recombined. The technique of reconfiguration to take variety and interoperability of a vehicle constitution is used when the vehicle constitution is changed. At the time, each node making up vehicle network shares the information about the variation of vehicle constitutions and the state of nodes. In the hierarchical TCN structure, an exchange of data becomes available as a work to transmit information between components is performed at the node playing a role of gateway. This paper proposes a protocol to transmit the information of the train reconfiguration. The protocol gives an application to renew a list for transmitting information and to perform the transmission that can guarantee periodic and non-periodic data transmission between nodes when the network nodes changed by a variation of the network state are reconfigured. If use this protocol, can use functions that are offered in the electric railcar at the same time that composition of vehicles is completed without delay. And when driver of the electric railcar inspect before running of vehicles, can confirm state of vehicles visually through monitor in driver's room.
This paper deals with the vehicle arbitration algorithm used in communication system between vehicles and a roadside control unit. To Improve the performance of vehicle arbitration, a random delay counter method is taken into account and modified to select the optimal maximum count value according to the vehicle arrival rate. The suggested algorithm is tested by computer simulation andthe enhanced performance was shown. This method could be applied to various systems which include the communications between transponders and a control unit.

In recent years, many public safety systems in the smart city are developed. These systems are taking responsibility to make a safe and comfortable city. In this paper, we propose vehicle tracking systems include a public safety system that enables the policeman to track the stolen vehicles more efficiently by providing the vehicle information in real time. When a vehicle is stolen, the vehicle owner can send a user emergency request. Then, the public safety server which supported by a geospatial query technique will give information such as time, distance, and routes to a policeman who is closest to the location of the vehicle to catch the thief. 300 simulations were performed to evaluate the performance of the system. We found that the average of times required when vehicle owner send a user emergency message on user application until policeman obtain a vehicle tracking request on police application below 1.2 seconds.

Lane detection technology is one of the most important issues on car safety and self-driving capability of autonomous vehicle. This paper introduces an accurate lane detection scheme based on OCC(Optical Camera Communication) for moving vehicles. For lane detection of moving vehicles, the streetlights and the front camera of the vehicle were used for a transmitter and a receiver, respectively. Based on the angle information of multiple streetlights in a captured image, the distance from sidewalk can be calculated using non-linear regression analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme shows robust performance of accurate lane detection.

The importance of electric vehicles is gradually increasing due to the recent depletion of fossil fuels. In order to use an electric vehicle, the battery built into the vehicle must be frequently charged. Electric vehicles has very good performance in terms of noise and vibration. However, due to the limitations of the battery, the mileage is considerably shorter than that of an internal combustion engine vehicle once it is charged, and the battery charging time is relatively long compared to the refueling time. There are two types of charging methods for electric vehicle batteries: plug-in and wireless charging. In this paper, we introduced the wireless charging technology for electric vehicles and the current state of technology development and standards in major countries.
