Although the urban rail vehicle is exposed to the fire disaster, most country, except only a few advanced country, is insufficient to take a measure against the fire accident. Safety regulation modification, fire safety standard of the materials. and each material's fire resistance of the rail vehicle have been upgraded until the Daegu fire disaster in Korea. For that reason, In this study, current techniques of fire safety evaluation are analyzed and fire safety degrees of rail vehicles are compared with the change of interiors which is met to the fire safety standard of urban rail vehicle.
The increase in oil prices and the rising environmental concerns are boost the electric vehicle supply. Vehicle manufactures understand this trend quite well and plan to increase the production of electric vehicle(EV) such as Nissan LEAF and GM VOLT etc.. The growth of intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power requires utilities to find additional grid coupled energy storage and regulation capacity. EVs have a battery pack and a charger. The charger can be able to deliver power back to the grid from the vehicle's battery as well as charge the battery. The concept of deploying EVs to stabilize the electric power grid is generally referred to as Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G). We present the grid service using V2G.
The Developing & Producing of Eco-Friendly vehicle have been more incremented, as People appreciate the importance of Earth Environment Conservation. The needs of Neighborhood Electric Vehicle(NEV) that suits Current people's short drive distance is incremented. In this Paper, we define Neighborhood Electric Vehicle through out National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of United States of America's regulation and explain motor and battery of primary constituents of that. We used MATLAB and ADVISOR 200 programs for Simulation, and propsed NEV's Model that tow people can be got in. In this Model, the battery is Lead-acid battery(72V, 85Ah) and the motor is 8kW permanent magnet synchronous motor(PM motor). We compared change of driving range of NEV through out non-changing speed Driving(10km/h, 20km/h, 30km/h, 40km/h) and Manhattan driving schedule.
Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus ($5,000{\sim}25,000$ persons per hour and per direction). It is a high-tech system which operational capacity, punctuality and mobility are remarkably improved. There are some types of LRT systems such as monorail, tramway, AGT(Automated Guideway Transit), and so on. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. For the efficient management, economical construction, and safe operation of various LRT systems, the establishment of national standard is necessary such as vehicle standardized specification, vehicle performance test standard, vehicle safety standard, construction guide, operation regulation, etc. of LRT systems. This paper presents the standard specification of electrical equipment of linear induction motor type light rail vehicle, that is LIM AGT(AGT system propelled with linear induction motor) vehicle. The LIM AGT system has been applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) system of Canada and Yongin LRT is currently under construction.

This paper attempts to address the motion parameter skip problem associated with three-dimensional trajectory tracking of an underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) using backstepping-based control, due to the unsmoothness of tracking trajectory. Through kinematics concepts, a three-dimensional dynamic velocity regulation controller is derived. This controller makes use of the surge and angular velocity errors with bio-inspired models and backstepping techniques. It overcomes the frequently occurring problem of parameter skip at inflection point existing in backstepping tracking control method and increases system robustness. Moreover, the proposed method can effectively avoid the singularity problem in backstepping control of virtual velocity error. The control system is proved to be uniformly ultimately bounded using Lyapunov stability theory. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed controller, which can realize accurate three-dimensional trajectory tracking for an underactuated AUV with constant external disturbances.
The safety problems of buses have been arisen due to the increasing of road traffic. Occupant injuries are always possible in the rollover accident and the frontal impact. Thus the structure of bus should have sufficient strength to protect passengers under accidental loads. ECE(Economic Commission for Europe) regulation No.66 prescribes that the superstructure of the vehicle shall be sufficient strength for passengers' surviving and the residual space shall be preserved in the passenger compartment during and after the standard rollover accident situation. Rollover test and simulation on a large-sized bus was completed according to the regulation. The coordinates of the points on the bus were measured by photogrammetry system. The rollover situation was revived by structural crashes simulation software, PAM-CRASH, and it was checked that the structure still complied with the requirements of residual space during rollover situation. The residual space was preserved during rollover, so it was proved that the structure of the investigated bus had much probability of survival in rollover accidents.
This paper studied on the application of the crashworthiness regulations of Korean Railway Safety Law and Urban Transit Safety Law to the urban Maglev vehicle of KIMM. The Urban Maglev vehicle has to comply with the crashworthiness regulations for urban transit vehicles. The collision load cases have been simulated by using explicit finite element analysis. From the numerical results, the crashworthiness regulations of the Urban Transit Safety Law were completely satisfied, but maximum crash pulse requirement in 25 km/h crash event and no plastic deformation requirement in 10 km/h crash event in the Korean Railway Safety Law were not. If a commercial urban Maglev vehicle is developed in the near future, it is necessary that some soft buffing and energy absorbing devices are adopted in its front end so as to satisfy the crashworthiness regulations of the Korean Railway Safety Law.
To investigate the safety of the in-use vehicles emission against the tail-pipe emission regulation, in-use vehicles emission trend according to vehicle mileage should be known. But it is impossible to collect all vehicles emission data In order to know that. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a statistically meaningful inference method that can be used generally to estimate in-use vehicles emissions distribution according to the vehicle mileage with relatively less in-use vehicles emission data. To do this, a linear regression model that solved the problems of data normality and common variance of error was studied. As a way that can secure the data normality, In(emission) instead of emission itself was used as a sampled data. And a reciprocal of mileage was suggested as a factor to secure common variance of error. As an example, 36 data of FTP-75 test were handled in this study. As a result, using average value and standard deviation at each mileage which were inferred from a linear regression model, probability density distribution and cumulative distribution of emissions according to the vehicle mileage were obtained and it was possible to predict the deterioration factor through full useful life mileage and also possible to decide whether those in-use vehicles will meet the tail-pipe emission regulations or not.
