Damage Analysis of Leaf Spring for Transport Utility Vehicles (운송 차량용 판 스프링의 파손 해석)

  • The leaf spring for a truck absorbs shocks or vibrations from the road surface while driving with the elastic force of the material and prevents the shock from being transmitted to the vehicle body. It is subjected to cyclic stress, and fatigue fracture occurs frequently. This study analyzes fractured leaf spring from a 25 ton truck that has been operating for about a year. In the fractured portion, which is the origin of crack, inclusions were observed, and fatigue failure was caused by cyclic stress. In the stress calculation and FE analysis, the stress at the center of the leaf spring was obtained to be 54~65% of the yield strength of the base material and damaged material. It is most important to prevent the mixing of impurities in the steel manufacturing for leaf springs. The large stress portion of the leaf spring needs to introduce compressive residual stress by peening etc.

  • This paper presents implementation details of car communications system based on V2I2V model over broadband wireless networks including WCDMA, HSDPA and WiBro. Also, we measures the major performance metrics such as Round Trip Time, end-to-end latency and others between in-vehicle client and location management system by driving across urban areas in Daegu city. Analysis of experimental results would be helpful to consider the applicability of traffic safety services using V2I2V-based car communications over various broadband wireless networks.

  • The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is currently an important approach to improve personal safety and driving comfort. ANEL is a MAC-based authentication scheme that offers all the advantages of MAC-based authentication schemes and overcomes all their limitations at the same time. In addition, the given scheme, ANEL, can achieve the security objectives such as authentication, privacy preservation, non-repudiation, etc. In addition, our scheme provides effective bio-password login, system key update, bio-password update, and other security services. Additionally, in the proposed scheme, the Trusted Authority (TA) can disclose the source driver and vehicle of each malicious message. The heavy traffic congestion increases the number of messages transmitted, some of which need to be secretly transmitted between vehicles. Therefore, ANEL requires lightweight mechanisms to overcome security challenges. To ensure security in our ANEL scheme we can use cryptographic techniques such as elliptic curve technique, session key technique, shared key technique and message authentication code technique. This article proposes a new efficient and light authentication scheme (ANEL) which consists in the protection of texts transmitted between vehicles in order not to allow a third party to know the context of the information. A detail of the mapping from text passing to elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to the inverse mapping operation is covered in detail.   • VANET(Vehicle Ad-hoc Network)은 통신 기능을 지원하는 지능형 차량들로 이루어진 애드혹 네트워크 환경으로써 최근 들어서 그 연구가 매우 활발하게 진행되고 있는 분야이다. VANET은 원활한 교통 소통, 사고 방지 등 여러 가지 편리한 기능들을 제공하지만, 그 기반을 애드혹 네트워크에 두고 있기 때문에 애드혹 네트워크에서 발생할 수 있는 보안 문제가 그대로 발생하며, 또한 그 환경적 특성에 따라 추가적인 보안 요구사항 역시 존재한다. VANET 환경에서 가장 중요하게 요구되는 보안요소는 협력 운전(cooperative driving) 시 메시지 인증, 무결성, 부인방지 등과 특정 차량에 대한 추적을 할 수 없도록 하는 위치 프라이버시 보호이다. 그러나 이 가운데 사용자의 위치 프라이버시는 조건적으로 신뢰기관에 의한 추적 역시 가능해야 한다는 조건을 포함한다. 본 논문에서는 L. Martucci 등이 제안한 자체적으로 생성하고 인증하는 pseudonym 기법[1]을 이용하여 이러한 보안 요구사항들을 만족시키는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 제안하는 기법은 최초 차량 등록 시 받은 비밀 인자를 이용하여 보안 통신을 하며 추가적으로 신뢰 기관으로의 통신이 필요하지 않는 효율적인 보안 기법이다. 또한 기존 연구에서 발생했던 저장 공간의 문제, RSU(Road Side Unit) 접근 문제 등을 해결한다.

  • VANET(Vehicle Ad-hoc Network) 환경은 도로위의 차량을 노드로 하여 구성하는 애드혹 네트워크로써 최근 들어 그 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 분야이다. 일반적인 애드혹 환경과 마찬가지로 VANET 환경에서도 보안적인 문제가 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. VANET 환경에서 가장 중요하게 요구되는 보안요소는 차량의 익명성을 통한 위치 프라이버시와 협력 운전(cooperative driving) 단계에서 사용되는 메시지에 대한 인증, 무결성, 부인방지 등이다. 본 논문에서는 익명 아이디(pseudonym), 그룹화 등을 통해 차량의 위치 프라이버시를 제공하고 또한 이를 이용해 VANET 환경에서 사용할 수 있는 라우팅 프로토콜을 제안하고자 한다. RA(Registration Authority)에서 발급되는 익명 아이디의 집합과 차량의 전송 범위를 고려해서 구성되는 그룹화는 그룹에 속한 차량에 대해 익명성을 제공하고, 또한 그룹리더에 의해 생성되는 그룹키를 통해 효율적인 협력 운전 메시지 전달을 할 수 있게 된다. 그리고 각각의 그룹리더를 라우터로 이용해 전달되는 라우팅 프로토콜은 노드가 매우 유동적으로 움직이는 VANET 환경에서 효과적으로 메시지를 전달할 수 있도록 해줄 것이다.

  • 첨단 기술의 발전과 함께 지능형 운전자 보조 시스템의 성능 및 교통 시스템 체계가 고도화됨에 따라 전반적인 교통사고 발생 건수는 줄어드는 추세지만 대한민국의 교통사고 발생 빈도는 아직 OECD 평균 대비 높은 실정이다. 특히, 2020년 경제 협력 개발 기구(OECD) 통계에 따르면 대한민국의 인구 10만 명당 교통사고 사망자 수는 회원국 36개 중 29위로 매우 높은 축에 속한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 교통사고 발생률을 낮추는 데 도움을 줄 수 있는 주행 이상 패턴 감지 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 실시간 영상 분석을 통해 신호등 및 차선을 인식함과 동시 차량 내부 진단 데이터에 대한 시계열 분석을 기반으로 운전자의 운전 패턴을 분석한 후 평소와 다른 이상 징후를 발견하면 운전자에게 경고 알림을 제공하여 위험한 상황을 회피할 수 있도록 지원한다.

V2X Communication Technology Trends (V2X 통신 기술 동향)

  • Recently, V2X (vehicle-to-everyting) communication has established itself as an essential technology for cooperative autonomous driving. V2X communication currently includes DSRC (dedicated short range communication) communication technology, which is a WLAN (wireless local area network) based communication technology, and C-V2X (cellular-V2X) communication technology, which is a Cellular-based communication technology. Since these two communication methods are not compatible with each other, various studies and experiments are being conducted to select one of the two communication methods. In the case of C-V2X communication, there are LTE-V2X (long term evolutionV2X) communication technology, which is an initial version, and 5G-V2X communication technology, which is a next-generation version. 5G-V2X communication technology has been completed only until standardization, so LTE-V2X communication technology is mainly used. In this paper, we introduce trends related to various issues in V2X communication, including communication method decisions.

  • Radar is an essential sensor component in autonomous vehicles, and the market for radar applications in this context is steadily expanding with a growing variety of products. In this study, we aimed to enhance the stability and performance of radar systems by developing and evaluating a radar performance prediction model that can predict radar defects. We selected seven machine learning and deep learning algorithms and trained the model with a total of 49 input data types. Ultimately, when we employed an ensemble of 17 models, it exhibited the highest performance. We anticipate that these research findings will assist in predicting product defects at the production stage, thereby maximizing production yield and minimizing the costs associated with defective products.

  • Regularly inspecting vehicle tires' condition is imperative for driving safety and comfort. Poorly maintained tires can pose fatal risks, leading to accidents. Unfortunately, manual tire visual inspections are often considered no less laborious than employing an automatic tire inspection system. Nevertheless, an automated tire inspection method can significantly enhance driver compliance and awareness, encouraging routine checks. Therefore, there is an urgency for automated tire inspection solutions. Here, we focus on developing a deep learning (DL) model to predict cracked tires. The main idea of this study is to demonstrate the comparative analysis of DenseNet121, VGG-19 and EfficientNet Convolution Neural Network-based (CNN) Transfer Learning (TL) and suggest which model is more recommended for cracked tire classification tasks. To measure the model's effectiveness, we experimented using a publicly accessible dataset of 1028 images categorized into two classes. Our experimental results obtain good performance in terms of accuracy, with 0.9515. This shows that the model is reliable even though it works on a dataset of tire images which are characterized by homogeneous color intensity.

A Study on the Influence of Maximum Velocity on Track Tension Change to Military Ammunition Vehicle (탄약운반장갑차 궤도장력 변화에 따른 최대속도 영향성 연구)

  • This study aimed to identify the influence of the power components of the ammunition vehicle on the maximum speed. The maximum speeds of the engine and transmission changes were 3% and 1.7%, respectively. In the case of strong tension based on the track tension, the decrease was 4.6%. A 1.5% increase was obtained when the tension was weak. An examination of the maximum speed by dividing the track tension into six sections revealed the maximum speed to be highest when it was maintained below the middle. Experiments were performed by varying the orbital tension on both sides of the equipment. The maximum speed of the machine was affected by a large part of the tension. The maximum speed test was conducted by adjusting the tension at the driving test site. The results showed that when the tension was strong, the speed was 16.7% higher than the standard requirement. The speed was 28.3% at low tension. The influence of the maximum speed on the track tension was confirmed; the effect was greater than replacing the large parts.
