A graphic software is one of the most important components of the vehicle simulator. To increase a visual reality of the simulator, the graphic software should require several technologies such as three-dimensional graphics, graphic modeling of the vehicle and the environment, drivers biomechanical models, and real-time data processing. This study presents a real time graphic driving simulator of a construction vehicle. The graphic simulator contains the three models of the construction vehicle, the human, and the environment, and employes a neural network approach to decrease an on-line dynamic computation. An excavator model is represented using an object-oriented paradigm and contains the detailed information about a real-size vehicle. The human model is introduced for objective visual evaluations of the developed excavator model. Since the environment model plays an important role in a real-time simulator, a block-based approach is implemented and a text format is utilized for easier construction of environment. The simulation results are illustrated in order to demonstrate the applicability of developed models and the neural network approach.

The availability of in-depth accident data is a prerequisite for each efficient traffic safety management system. Identification and definition of the relevant problem together with knowledge of the data and parameters describing this problem is essential for its successful solution. Comprehensive, up-to-date, accident data is needed for recognition of the scope of road safety problems and for raising public awareness. Reliable and relevant data enable the identification of the contributory factors of the individual accidents, and an unveiling of the background of the risk behaviour of the road users. It offers the best way to explore the prevention of accidents, and ways to implement measures to reduce accident severity. In this study, reviewing the existing iGlad and GIDAS system, KIDAS data format can be finalized through feasibility evaluation. The progressive approach is proposed to successful settlement of Korea in-depth accident study. As the initial stage of in-depth investigation DB construction, the KIDAS is not repetition of the current police based TAAS. It is essential part of improving vehicle safety and reduction of traffic fatality in Korea. 72 Contributing factors like road and traffic characteristics, vehicle parameters, and information about the people involved in the accident have to be investigated and registered as well in the KIDAS.

As emerging the '4th Industrial Revolution' by increasing the necessity of the intelligent system recently, 'Autonomic Control System' also has been the important issue. It is necessary to develop the system collecting data of machines and sensors for the autonomic control system to monitor the target system. But it is difficult to collect data because data formats of machines and sensors of the existing factories differ between each manufacturer. Therefore, this paper presents and implements data collecting and processing system that comprise 3 steps including 'ParseBuffer', 'ProcessData' and 'AddToBuffer' by using 'MTConnect' that is standard manufacturing facility data collecting middleware. Through the suggested system, we can get data in a common format usable in an autonomous control system. As a case study, we experimented with the generation and collection of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) data, which is an unattended transportation system in the factory. To accomplish this, we defined the data type in accordance with the MTConnect standard and confirmed the data collected through the proposed system.

In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between charging operation system and electricity charges connected with charging infrastructure among data of many demonstration projects focused on electric vehicles recently. At this point in time, due to the rapid increase in demand for the electric charging infrastructure that will take place in the future, we can prepare for an upcoming era in the sense of forecasting the demand value. At the same time, demonstrating and modeling optimized system modeling centering on sites is a prerequisite. The modeling based on the existing small - scale simulation and the design of the operating system are based on the data linkage analysis. In this paper, we implemented a new optimized system modeling and introduced it as a standard format to analyze time - dependent time - divisional data for each vehicle and user in each point and node. In order to verify the efficiency of the optimization based on the data linkage analysis for the actual implemented electric car charging infrastructure and operation system.
In the transportation sector, reducing total vehicle mileage and passenger vehicle traffic are proposed as strategies to achieve carbon neutrality. To achieve this, MaaS services must be actively promoted with the goal of revitalizing public transportation. In order to promote MaaS, individual movement data is required, such as the individual's means of movement, route, and conversion of the individual's means of use. However, in Korea, there are legal limitations in collecting and utilizing data on individual movements. As the right to request transmission of personal information was newly established in the revised Personal Information Protection Act in 2023, a law was established to collect and utilize data on individual movements. However, enforcement ordinance, detailed rules, instructions, guidelines must be prepared, and the standardization of data format and transmission system for collecting my data needs to take precedence.

The objective of this research is to construct and build a software platform to enable collaboration among enterprise headquarters, product designers, software engineers, manufacturing plants, and suppliers which are located at different remote locations via internet. In specific, agent technology is adopted as a software vehicle to automate demand as a software vehicle to automate demand and supply process in the internet environment. Agents are programs that act an behalf of their human users to perform laborious tasks such as information locating, accessing, filtering, integrating, adapting and resolving inconsistencies. Global competition is forcing the present day industry to produce high quality product more fast and inexpensively. In Korea, most labor-intensive industries have moved to China and other Asian countries for cost reduction. The need for fast information exchange has increased among the remote locations for the cooperation and coordination. In this research, a virtual global manufacturing system will be constructed that distributes production schedule among remote places, acts as a bridge between the headquarters and manufacturing plants, distributes tasks and collates different solutions between demand and supply using agent. The external communication protocol takes HTML format, internal message handling requires SGML for document exchange, and KQML for agent implementation. The expected benefits will be : reduced cost of real-time information exchange, realization of global manufacturing environment, the maximum utilization of internet for the enterprise data exchange.

This study was initiated to develop an optimal signal control algorithm for coordinated signalized intersections using individual vehicle's information which can be collected in a format of prove vehicle data (PVD) via V2I (Vehicle to Infrastructure) communication environment. For developing this signal optimization algorithm, three modules were developed for phase group length computation, split distribution, and phase sequence assignment. The simulation analysis using the microscopic simulation model, Vissim, was conducted for evaluating the effectiveness of the developed algorithm. The analysis result represented that the performance of the developed algorithm is far superior to that of the fixed coordinated signal control method which is the most common signal control method for coordinated signalized intersections in Korea.
As the market of lithium secondary batteries moves from mobile IT devices to large-format electric vehicles or energy storage systems, the strengthened battery specifications such as long-term reliability longer than 10 years, pack-level safety and tough competitive price have been required. Moreover, even though high power properties should also be achieved for hybrid electric vehicles, it is not easy to measure accurate power values at various conditions. Because it is difficult to choose a proper measurement method and its experimental condition is more complex comparing to capacity measurement. In addition, the power values are very sensitive to power duration time, state-of-charge (SOC) of cells, cut-off voltages, and temperatures, whereas capacity values are not. In this paper, we introduce three kinds of power measurement methods, hybrid pulse power characterization (HPPC) suggested by US FreedomCar, so-called J-pulse by Japan electric vehicle association standards (JEVS) and constant power measurement, respectively. Moreover, with pouch-type unit cells for HEV, experimental power data are discussed in order to compare each power measurement.

As the number of attacks on vehicles has increased, studies on CAN-based security technologies are actively being carried out. However, since the upper layer protocol of CAN differs for each vehicle manufacturer and model, there is a great difficulty in researches such as developing anomaly detection for CAN or finding vulnerabilities of ECUs. In this paper, we propose a method to infer the detailed structure of the data field of CAN frame by analyzing CAN trace to mitigate this problem. In the existing Internet environment, many researches for reverse engineering proprietary protocols have already been carried out. However, CAN bus has a structure difficult to apply the existing protocol reverse engineering technology as it is. In this paper, we propose new field classification methods with low computation-cost based on the characteristics of data in CAN frame and existing field classification method. The proposed methods are verified through implementation that analyze CAN traces generated by simulations of CAN communication and actual vehicles. They show higher accuracy of field classification with lower computational cost compared to the existing method.
