The optical wide-field patrol network (OWL-Net) is a Korean optical surveillance system that tracks and monitors domestic satellites. In this study, a batch least squares algorithm was developed for optical measurements and verified by Monte Carlo simulation and covariance analysis. Potential error sources of OWL-Net, such as noise, bias, and clock errors, were analyzed. There is a linear relation between the estimation accuracy and the noise level, and the accuracy significantly depends on the declination bias. In addition, the time-tagging error significantly degrades the observation accuracy, while the time-synchronization offset corresponds to the orbital motion. The Cartesian state vector and measurement bias were determined using the OWL-Net tracking data of the KOMPSAT-1 and Cryosat-2 satellites. The comparison with known orbital information based on two-line elements (TLE) and the consolidated prediction format (CPF) shows that the orbit determination accuracy is similar to that of TLE. Furthermore, the precision and accuracy of OWL-Net observation data were determined to be tens of arcsec and sub-degree level, respectively.
A cDNA encoding the masu salmon, Oncorhynchus masou, estrogen receptor $\alpha$ (msER$\alpha$) was cloned from the pituitary gland by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This cDNA contains an open reading frame encoding 513 amino acid residues, and the calculated molecular weight of this protein is about 56,430 Dalton. The amino acid sequences of the DNA binding and ligand binding domains of msER$\alpha$ showed high homology to those of other fish species (84-100%). Reverse transcription PCR analysis showed that the mRNA level of msER$\alpha$ in the pituitary was slightly higher in estradiol-17$\beta$(E2) injected masu salmon than that of control fish. To test the biological activity of msER$\alpha$, the cDNA was ligated to a mammalian expression vector and transfected into a gonadotrope-derived cell line, L$\beta$T2, with a reporter plasmid including estrogen responsive element. Expression of the reporter protein, luciferase, was E2 and msER$\alpha$-dependent. The masu salmon ER$\alpha$ is structurally conserved among teleost species and functions as a transcriptional activator in the pituitary cells.

In this paper, an analysis of microstrip-slotline transition is performed using a 3D vector Finite Element Method(FEM). Artificial anistropic absorber technique is employed to implement an matching boundary condition in FEM. On the base of the analysis, power divider/combiner is designed. The structure of the power combiner already developed are Branch-line coupler, Rat-race coupler, Wilkinson coupler, Lange coupler, etc. Which are all planar, If the frequency goes up, the coupling efficiency of these planar couplers is decreased on account of skin loss. Especially, in millimeter-wave band, the efficiency of more than two ways combiner is radically reduced, so that application in power amplifier circuit is almost impossible, Microstrip-slotline transition structure is a power combining technique integrated into wave-guide, so that the loss is small and the efficiency is high. Theoretically, we can mount several transistors into the power-combiner. This makes it possible to develop a high power amplifier. The numerically calculated performances of the device that is, we believe, the best are compared to the experimental results in Ka-Band(26.5GHz-40GHz).
In this paper, we implement an identification system using the vein image of the hand. The vein pattern is obtained in the grey-scale 2D image through the infrared-red imaging from back of the hand. Since the frame has lack of clearance, we use some enhancing methods such as the complement, addition, and multiplication to the image to increase the contrast. After Wiener filtering for smoothness of the vein pattern, we transform the image into the binary image with mean function. The binarized image is session thinned and the cross-points in the vein tree are obtained by calculating the number of pixels connected because the image is shaped as a tree. We choose the point and find the nearest to the center if it has majority, where we find the two end points of the selected line. We can get the angle between the two lines joined at the cross-point and store its coordinates, angle, and label the values. The values are used as the feature vector of the vein pattern. This procedure is similar to the human cognition sequences. It is shown that the proposed method is simple for the vein recognition.

Nonpotential characteristics of magnetic fields in AR 5747 are examined using Mees Solar Observatory magnetograms taken on Oct. 20, 1989 to Oct. 22, 1989. The active region showed such violent flaring activities during the observational span that strong X-ray flares took place including a 2B/X3 flare. The magnetogram data were obtained by the Haleakala Stokes Polarimeter which provides simultaneous Stokes profiles of the Fe I doublet 6301.5 and 6302.5. A nonlinear least square method was adopted to derive the magnetic field vectors from the observed Stokes profiles and a multi-step ambiguity solution method was employed to resolve the $180^{\circ}$ ambiguity. From the ambiguity-resolved vector magnetograms, we have derived a set of physical quantities characterizing the field configuration, which are magnetic flux, vertical current density, magnetic shear angle, angular shear, magnetic free energy density, a measure of magnetic field discontinuity MAD and linear force-free coefficient. Our results show that (1) magnetic nonpotentiality is concentrated near the inversion line in the flaring sites, (2) all the physical parameters decreased with time, which may imply that the active region was in a relaxation stage of its evolution, (3) 2-D MAD has similar patterns with other nonpotential parameters, demonstrating that it can be utilized as an useful parameter of flare producing active region, and (4) the linear force-free coefficient could be a evolutionary indicator with a merit as a global nonpotential parameter.
In this paper, we report a small-scale emerging island and double arc loops, which are associated with a M6.5 flare, in Active Region 12371. We investigate the spatial and temporal changes of both photospheric magnetic fields using SDO/HMI data and coronal magnetic structures obtained from nonliner force-free field (NLFFF) extrapolation. From the vector magnetograms, we find a small-scale emerging island near the main polarityy inversion line about three hours before the flare. The island has a strong shear angle, which is determined by difference between transverse component of observed field and potential field, of around 90 degrees. Furthermore, the NLFFF well reproduces a sigmoidal structure seen in SDO/AIA 94, which is consistent with the double arc loops configuration suggested by Ishiguro and Kusano (2017) who introduced a magnetic configuration showing the double arc instability. The observed emerging island is located among the double arc loops, which is also supproted by their model. Finally, there was an eruption (M6.5 flare) associated with the loops. We discuss a possible role of the double arc instability for the eruption.

Lactadherin (formerly known as BA46), a major glycoprotein of the human milk fat globule membrane, is abundant in human breast milk and breast carcinomas and may prevent symptomatic rotavirus infections. In this study, under the control of mouse whey acidic protein (WAP) promoter, the expression pattern of lactadherin (Ltd) in lactogenic hormone-dependent mouse mammary epithelial cell line HC11 were tested. pLNWLtd construct containing 2.4 kilobases of the WAP promoter and 1.5 kilobases of human lactadherin gene was stably transfered into HC11 cells using retroviral vector system. Integration and expression level of the transgene was estimated using PCR and RT-PCR, respectively. Prominent induction of Ltd gene under the WAS promoter was accomplished in the presence of insulin, hydrocortisone and prolactin, while induction with insulin alone resulted in lower expression. Our results demonstrate that the expression of the transgene is increased by synergistic effect of several lactogenic hormones, including insulin, hydrocortisone, and prolactin.

The conventional Residual Current Protective Devices(RCD, or earth leakage circuit breaker, ELB) operates depending on the total leakage current which is the vector-sum of resistive and capacitive components of a leakage current. However, the electric disaster such as electric shock or fire is mainly caused by the resistive component. Therefore, in this view point, the RCD is more realistic when it operates by the resistive component of the leakage current. In this paper, a new algorithm for measuring the resistive leakage current from the total leakage current is suggested, and is realized to an actual circuit. According to the suggested algorithm, the resistive component of the leakage current can be found by integrating the total leakage current over only a half cycle of the line voltage, and it is realized by using analog switches and resettable integrators. It is confirmed through experiments that the suggested algorithm detects, within maximum average error of 6.74%, the resistive leakage current from the total leakage current, and the RCD employing the suggested algorithm brakes the circuit within the regular interrupt time(30msec).
It is difficult and laborious to distinguish between the original and the plagiarism about the electrical documents or on-line received documents, specially student homeworks because in many case, the homeworks are written on the same subject. Existing methods are not appropriate to solve this problem, which find the most appropriate category using the expression frequency of index term in documents to be classified. In this paper, a new classification method was proposed to distinguish between the original and the plagiarism about documents which were written similarly which is based on the syntagma vector - except the similar syntagma tree structure and non-index term.
This paper analyzes the characteristics of abnormal broadcast GPS ephemeris by comparing distances between the receiver and the satellites. Effects of abnormal ephemeris on receiver's position estimate are closely related with range errors caused by variations of satellite positions. In more detail each range error depends on the satellite position error and the line of sight vector. Based on the fact, the ephemeris parameters are classified into three types depending on the size, the shape, and the shape of the satellite orbit to analyze the fault characteristics. The effects of satellite position errors caused by the three type s of parameters on the receiver's position estimate are analyze d in detail.
