  • The purpose of this paper is to give a necessary and sufficient condition for a smooth manifold to admit a Lorentzian metric. As an application of this result, on Lorentzian manifolds we have shown that the existence of a 1-dimensional distribution is equivalent to the existence of a non-vanishing vector field.

  • In this paper, we apply Zermelo's problem of navigation on Riemannian manifolds to Hermitian manifolds. Using a similar technique with which we define a Randers metric in a Finsler manifold by perturbing Riemannian metric with a vector field, we construct an $(a,b,f)$-metric in a Rizza manifold from a Hermitian metric and a given vector field.

  • 로봇의 실시간 장애물 회피 방법은 연구되어 왔고 실행되어 왔다. 이러한 방법을 vector field histogram(VFH)라 하며 이러한 방법은 알려져 있지 않는 장애물의 발견과 장애물과의 충돌을 피하는 동시에 목표점으로의 로봇의 이동을 위한 알고리즘이다. The vector field histogram(VFH)방법은 world model로 이차원 Cartesian histogram grid를 이용하였다. VFH 방법은 Vehicle을 원하는 데로 컨트롤하기 위한 과정으로 두 단계 데이터 줄이는 과정이다. Histogram grid 의 첫 번째 단계는 로봇의 순간위치를 구성하기 위한 일 차원 polar histogram에 포함된 각 섹터의 값은 polar obstacle density(POD)로 방향을 표시한다.(중략)

  • A novel control strategy for the induction motor drive, based on the field acceleration method, is presented. The torque is controlled through variations of the stator flux angular velocity. The stator flux is controlled by using a feed forward control scheme, with the stator flux reference vector adjusted so as to obtain the fixed rotor flux amplitude.

  • The aim of the present paper is to study the Eisenhart problems of finding the properties of second order parallel tensors (symmetric and skew-symmetric) on a 3-dimensional LCS-manifold. We also investigate the properties of Ricci solitons, Ricci semisymmetric, locally ${\phi}$-symmetric, ${\eta}$-parallel Ricci tensor and a non-null concircular vector field on $(LCS)_3$-manifolds.

  • In this article, the notion of *-conformal Ricci soliton is defined as a self similar solution of the *-conformal Ricci flow. A Sasakian 3-metric satisfying the *-conformal Ricci soliton is completely classified under certain conditions on the soliton vector field. We establish a relation with Fano manifolds and proves a homothety between the Sasakian 3-metric and the Berger Sphere. Also, the potential vector field V is a harmonic infinitesimal automorphism of the contact metric structure.

  • We study *-Ricci solitons on non-cosymplectic (κ, µ)-acs (almost cosymplectic) manifolds M. We find *-solitons that are steady, and such that both the scalar curvature and the divergence of the potential field is negative. Further, we study concurrent, concircular, torse forming and torqued vector fields on M admitting Ricci and *-Ricci solitons. Also, we provide some examples.

  • In the present paper, we study generalized Ricci solitons on N(κ)-contact metric manifolds, in particular, we consider when the potential vector field is the concircular vector field. We also consider generalized gradient Ricci solitons, and verify our results with an example.

Joint Overlapped Block Motion Compensation Using Eight-Neighbor Block Motion Vectors for Frame Rate Up-Conversion

  • The traditional block-based motion compensation methods in frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) only use a single uniquely motion vector field. However, there will always be some mistakes in the motion vector field whether the advanced motion estimation (ME) and motion vector analysis (MA) algorithms are performed or not. Once the motion vector field has many mistakes, the quality of the interpolated frame is severely affected. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel joint overlapped block motion compensation method (8J-OBMC) which adopts motion vectors of the interpolated block and its 8-neighbor blocks to jointly interpolate the target block. Since the smoothness of motion filed makes the motion vectors of 8-neighbor blocks around the interpolated block quite close to the true motion vector of the interpolated block, the proposed compensation algorithm has the better fault-tolerant capability than traditional ones. Besides, the annoying blocking artifacts can also be effectively suppressed by using overlapped blocks. Experimental results show that the proposed method is not only robust to motion vectors estimated wrongly, but also can to reduce blocking artifacts in comparison with existing popular compensation methods.

  • This paper investigates the problem of the speed estimation of conventional speed sensorless stator flux-oriented induction machine drive in the field weakening region and proposes a new speed estimation scheme to estimate speed exactly in transients in the field weakening region. The error included in the estimated rotor speed is removed by not a low pass filter but Kalman filter so that exact speed estimation in transients is achieved.
