  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic information for planning family day care. The purpose was accomplished by observations, interviews and survey. The total 29 family day care centers were selected for the observations. The interviews and survey were conducted with 44 caregivers working there. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, analysis of variance and multiple regressions. According to the findings of the study, most family day care centers in apartment unit were to keep the laws related to the locations, number of children, etc. Also, the caregivers were satisfied with the general physical conditions of the centers, while they tended to be less satisfied with the space for themselves. Finally this study suggested several design alternativesas useful guidelines for the apartment family day care center.

  • The fluctuation of VLBI visibility phase can be occurred, predominantly caused by the irregular distribution and motion of water vapor in the atmosphere at high frequencies (>1GHz). This radio-seeing effect shows up on filled-aperture telescopes as an anomalous refraction (AR). This can be shown as if the antenna pointing-offset increases, in other words the apparent displacement of radio sources from its nominal position happens. We carried out the single-dish observations on KVN sites in order to check the effect of AR from 2010 to 2014. Orion KL, U Her, and R Leo were observed with 1second sampling time at 22.235GHz and 43.122GHz simultaneously. Each source was observed with the tracking mode for 30 minutes per a source. We analyzed the structure function, power spectrum and Allan variance of the data according to a day and a night, a season and observatories. Finally, we can infer that the AR effect depends on the atmospheric environment, especially tropospheric turbulence.

  • The purpose of this study is to research the facial shape and suggest quantified data for the domestic fashion cordinaton and beauty industry. A measurement survey of 264 female college students aged from 20 to 24, was conducted with photographs of front view and later view taken by digital camera. Two hundred values were generated through the facial measurement program. In the results, for the coefficient of variance of the height was highly related with height, radial length was highly related with radial length, and breadth with highly related with breadth. However Gnation breadth, Zygomatic breadth, Philtrum breadth were lowly related and indefendent with other items.

  • This paper develops maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of unknown parameters in an exponentiated half-logistic distribution based on a progressively type-II censored sample. We obtain approximate confidence intervals for the MLEs by using asymptotic variance and covariance matrices. Using importance sampling, we obtain Bayes estimators and corresponding credible intervals with the highest posterior density and Bayes predictive intervals for unknown parameters based on progressively type-II censored data from an exponentiated half logistic distribution. For illustration purposes, we examine the validity of the proposed estimation method by using real and simulated data.

  • The purposes of this study were to define the current status of information infrastructures and electronic information retrieval systems in university libraries in Korea, to assess the impact of information technology on library collection development in Korea universities, and to determine the relationship between electronic information retrieval service and library collection development. Data was collected by a mail survey. Questionnaires were mail in December, 1997 to all 134 4-year university libraries. Approximately 78 percent of the questionnaires was returned. The data taken from the survey instruments were analyzed with the analysis of variance(ANOVA) test of SAS program.

  • Quality system management adapted by small and medium enterprises in Kangwon province to enhance the competitiveness was studied. Variance analysis on several questionnaire answers was performed. Motives for acquiring the accreditation, such as product export, adjustment to international trend, enhancement of brand/product recognition, CEO's mind change, and management innovation, have been changed significantly among business types. Mind changes after the accreditations were setting company's first priority on quality, enhanced recognition on compliance of in-house standards and regulations, employee's performance with the recognition of quality. Amongst service problems to maintain the ace reditations were difficulties in maintaining the recognition of the company's finality management, labor increase to maintain the ISO 9000 enforcement team, and financial burden to keep the accreditation. Quality recognition after the accreditations was significantly improved in setting company's first priority on quality, enhanced recognition on compliance of in-house standards and regulations, employee's performance with the recognition of quality.

  • This study is aimed to establish an investment decision model for offshore aquaculture project of rock bream in Korea using a certainty equivalent method (CEM) based on the expected utility theory and to investigate its economic viability under risk and uncertainty. In the analysis with CEM, the effects of risk attitude and risk level on investment and risk premium were examined and the impacts of various risk and uncertainty factors on the investment decision were also assessed. In addition, the outcomes were compared to those evaluated by the traditional net present value (NPV) method. Results show that risk premium grew as the investors became more risk averse and uncertainty level (the variance of NPV) increased. Consequently, the certainty equivalent value was predicted to decrease from the value assessed by the traditional NPV method.

  • Korean parents and schools are challenged with the issue of working together to provide education and support of children. This study examined variables that affect parent practices and volunteerism, specifically : beliefs of parents about children's education and family-school collaboration, relationships between parent practices and volunteerism, and teacher practices regarding family-school collaboration. Subjects were 651 parents who had children in K-grade 3. Data were analyzed using One-Way Analysis of Variance, Multiple Regression, and Stepwise Regression. Findings were that parents who thought they should be involved actually participated more in their children's education, and parents who reported a greater frequency of receiving information about their children's education and more invitations to volunteer actually were more involved.

  • This paper evaluated the 12 sensory measures suitable for evaluating taste of kimchi stored for 64 maturing days in the three kimchi refrigerators each made by the three different electronics companies respectively. The panel composed of 6 married women and 6 married man tasted sample of kimchi 8 times during the 64 maturing days. Analysis of variance results showed that among the 12 sensory measures sour smell, fresh smell, fermenting smell, sour taste, fresh taste, sensory satisfaction, and maturing degree were sensitive to differentiate both maturing days and refrigerators. Among sensory measures, maturing degree showed the most consistently increasing pattern during maturing days and the most consistently differentiating pattern for the refrigerators.
