The study has been carried out to understand productivity-related factors that have been connected to improve financial independence rate of national university hospital. In order to achieve such research purpose as working out implications of efficient resource management, data from the four years between 2007 to 2010 of 12 national university hospitals were reviewed. According to the results, the hospitals came up with significant differences in Value Added to Total Asset, Value Added to Tangible Fixed Assets, Value Added to Personnel Expenses and Value Added Ratio to Patient Revenues. In addition, after the relation between the investment efficiency and profitability of the national university hospitals was investigated, it was learned that application of basic environmental factors would have an influence on a profitability index Operating Margin. As long as the basic environmental factors are adopted, Operating Margin of the national university hospitals is improved under the condition that the Value Added to Tangible Fixed Assets for Production and the Value Added to Personnel Expenses gets higher but the Value Added Ratio to Patient Revenues gets lowered.

This paper analyses the Korean information and communication technology supply side across the economy using 1995, 2000 and 2003 input-output tables. Input-output analysis considers inter-industry relations in an economy, depicting how the output of one industry goes to another industry where it serves as an input, and thereby makes one industry dependent on another both as customer of output and as supplier of Inputs. It can be evaluated that the recent growth of Korean ICT sector has come from the development of communication service and equipment industry and software industry. Although the high performance and positive revealed comparative advantages in ICT manufacturing sector, the value added and employment in that sector are not satisfactory. It may reflect in part high portion of imported intermediate goods in ICT manufacturing. However, it is fortunate that ICT services, which accounted for relatively high value added, induce the development of ICT manufacturing and follow strong export performance. Moreover, it is expected that the software sector with high value added and employment will be a major driver of ICT growth.

In the third generation mobile telecommunication systems such as UMTS, one of the important problems for value-added services is to check the recoverability of costs used by a mobile user. Previous authentication and payment schemes for value-added services by a mobile user across multiple service domains, rely on the concept of the on-line TTP, which serves as the users certification authority. In the third generation systems with many service providers, a wide range of services, and a diverse user population, authentication mechanisms with the on-line TTP provide a far from ideal solution. In this paper we present an efficient public-key protocol for mutual authentication and key exchange designed for value-added services in the third generation mobile telecommunications systems. The proposed ticket based authentication and payment protocol provides an efficient way for VASP to check the recoverability of costs without communication with the on-line TTP Furthermore, the proposed ticket based protocol can provide anonymous service usage for a mobile user.

This paper describes the portal system architecture of large consumers for ESP(Energy Service Provider) to provide customers with various value added services such as monitoring and controlling a wide variety of electric devices in consumer's premises for optimal energy management from both consumer side and ESP side, and the prototype implementation of 2 kinds of value added services. The architecture is composed of the device portal which gathers the information from electric devices and controls them and the consumer portal which can make ESP operate the optimal energy management with two-way communications. The demand side management and energy management functions was chosen and implemented for the prototype system as value added services. The prototype was designed to create, manage, and trace the events about services between ESP and customers.

One field that the information society has recently taken much interest in and has continuously implemented is medical services. Health tourism services which emphasize today's patient-oriented management rather than the past hospital-oriented management are highly value-added. As interest in physical fitness increases in keeping with such trends of the society at large as the declining birth rate and increasing life expectancy, and the medical market is opened, the added value of medical services that attract and manage domestic and foreign patients from the global market and satisfy their diverse desires with domestic medical competitiveness such as excellent medical staff and technology is on the spotlight. Hereupon, this study intends to suggest the possibility of developing competitive domestic medical services into a highly value-added industry in keeping with changing environment.

Since many researchers were interested in measuring the performance of information technology investment, many studies have been conducted with various data sources and analysis methods, and most studies report that IT investment produces significant and positive results. Many of these studies have been conducted at the enterprise level, but different results may occur at the industry level. In the case of the electronics industry, if the performance of the IT highly increases, the sales of the IT produced in the electronics industry may decrease, and the added value of the electronics industry may also decrease. As a result of analysis, the increase in the IT capital of the US electronic industry did not increase the added value of the industry, but the increase in IT capital per worker in the industry had a positive effect on the increase in value added per worker (labor productivity) in the industry. In addition, the increase in IT capital in the US electronics industry has resulted in a decrease in the number of workers.

Geographic Information System(GIS) market in Korea was made based on "the First Master Plan for the korean National GIS" Recently the private GIS market is growing rapidly for LBS, Telematics, Web Geographic Information Service. So, the purpose of this study is to make the development strategies reflected ′moving the core of GIS market′ from public to private sector. By using the Model of Added Value chain, the business model which reflect features of geographical information best, we analyzed markets and classified them into four fields along the uses and degrees of added value. The features of markets in each field are researched and the ways of development about each fields are established. And the business model for geoaphic information circulation is made for development of GIS. market. To realize the development strategies in each field, this study proposes the national roles.

The principal objective of this study was to develop processed food with the effect of extract from Angelica gigas Nakai by assessing the quality characteristics of cookies. Cookie samples were prepared with shredded extract from Angelica gigas Nakai at varied levels of 0, 1, 3, and 5%. The pH of dough decreased significantly with the added extract from Angelica gigas Nakai and the density increased significantly in the 5% added group(p<0.05). The spread factor decreased significantly as the added extract from Angelica gigas Nakai increased(p<0.05). The Hunter color's L value in cookies significantly decreased and the a, b values in cookies increased(p<0.05). The hardness of cookies significantly increased added extract from Angelica gigas Nakai increased(p<0.05). The acid value and peroxide value were lower in added Angelica gigas Nakai extract groups than in the control group as the storage period of cookies passed. The results of sensory characteristics demonstrated that 1% added Angelica gigas Nakai extract showed the highest degree of preference among all the items of added Angelica gigas Nakai extract(color, odor, taste, hardness, crispness and overall quality) and the added Angelica gigas Nakai extract indicated possibilities for developments of Angelica gigas Nakai extract cookies.
