  • This study was carried out to investgate the possiblity of using waste bamboo and bast fiber from paper mulberry for Hwaseonji production. 3 types of Hwaseonji were made in an experimental system, 100% bamboo pulp, bamboo pulp mixed with bast fiber in two different ratios, 70% : 30% and 40% : 60%, respectively. The result were as follows: 1. The chinese ink blots of Hwaseonji made from bamboo pulp only was satisfactory, but its tensile strength showed a low value. In order to improve the tensile strength, we must develope a new beating method with musilige. 2. The burst strength increased as the bast fiber content increased. But it is a special characteristic of Hwaseonji, that an even formation of paper is required. Therefore, only the short bast fiber is needed. 3. The tensile strength was raised by increasing the bast fiber content to 60%, resulting in a more durable Hwaseonji. 4. In even thickness, the higher opacity showed the more bast fiber. So the opacity of product III (bamboo: 40%, bast fiber: 60%) is the highest. 5. The commodity value of hand-made paper should be grade-up after a dedusting process.

  • The Effects of different melting temperature and holding time in the melting temperature on J$\sub$c/ of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$\sub$x/ based superconducting bulk using MPMG process were investigated. the value of critical current density was the largest at l120$^{\circ}C$, the melting temperature which is appointed to the mid point of (Y$_2$BaCuO$\sub$5/ + Liquid)region. With the melting temperature in which the value of J$\sub$c/ is the largest, J$\sub$c/ was again measured to see whether the holding time at this proper melting temperature has the effect on the critical characteristics. From the result above it was concluded that the melting temperature and holding time were important to improve the J$\sub$c/ and the formation of the Y$_2$BaCuO$\sub$5/. In this paper, the melting temperature obtained was l120$^{\circ}C$ and propel holding time could be obtained as 20 minute and the more holding time was not effective in the J$\sub$c/ improvement as well as the formation of Y$_2$BaCuO$\sub$5/.

  • An extensive investigation was carried out to describe the kinetics of cell growth, substrate consumption, and product formation in the batch fermentation using starch as substrate. Evaluation of intrinsic kinetic parameters was carried out using a best-fit unstructured model. A nonlinear regression technique was applied for computational purpose. The Andrew's model showed a comparatively better $R^2$ value among all tested models. The values of specific growth rate (${\mu}_{max}$), saturation constant ($K_S$), inhibition constant ($K_I$), and $Y_{X/S}$ were found to be 0.109 $h^{-1}$, 11.1 g/l, 0.012 g/l, and 1.003, respectively. The Leudeking-Piret model was used to study the product formation kinetics and the process was found to be growth-associated. The growth-associated constant (${\alpha}$) for protease production was sensitive to substrate concentration. Its value was fairly constant up to a substrate concentration of 30.8 g/l, and then decreased.

  • The object of this work was to study the pharmacokinetic differences and the cause of these differences in cirrhotic rats induced by N,N-dimethylnitrosamine or carbon tetrachloride treatment when aminophylline (8 mg/kg as theophylline, i.v.) was injected. The concentrations of theophylline and its major metabolite (1,3-dimethyluric acid) in plasma were determined by HPLC. In addition, formation of 1,3-dimethyluric acid from theophylline in microsomes was determined. In cirrhotic rats, the systemic clearance of theophylline was reduced to $17\%$ of the control value while AUC (area under the plasma concentration-time curve) and $(t_{1/2})_{\beta}$ were increased to about 6 fold and 10 fold, respectively. The formation of 1,3-dimethyluric acid was decreased to $33-41\%$ of the control value in microsomes of cirrhotic rat liver. From these results, it can be concluded that in cirrhotic rats induced by N,N-dimethylnitrosamine or carbon tetrachloride the total body clearance of theophylline is markedly reduced due to a reduced hepatic metabolism.

  • We present preliminary results of 1.1 and 1.3 mm dust continuum and 12CO (J=2-1) line data obtained with the Submillimeter Array toward six cores harboring Class 0/I objects in the λ Orionis cloud. They are located in bright rimmed clouds, which are exposed to the far-ultraviolet radiation field by the O-type star λ Ori. Compact dust continuum emission is observed from all six cores. Among the six cores, only one core G196.92-10.37 shows a signature of binarity with separation of 4000 AU. The numbers of singles and binaries in our sample are five and one, respectively and the derived multiplicity frequency (MF) is 0.17. This value is lower than those found in the binary surveys toward Class 0/I objects, which may be a hint for negative feedback by the nearby massive star, lambda Ori. The derived excitation temperature (Tex) using 12CO emission shows a lower median value (20 K) than those of triggered star-forming regions (30 K). The lower MF and Tex support our previous study that star formation was not triggered in the λ Orionis cloud. We aim to further investigate whether the Class 0/I YSOs in the λ Orionis cloud have less circumstellar materials and smaller accretion rates than in other filamentary clouds (e.g., Orion A & B), which might be attributed to negative feedback from the massive star in limiting accretion of protostars.

  • Hydrodynamic field alteration around a cylindrical pier using a curved vane is numerically investigated. The curved vane with various angles ranged from 10 to 220 degree is placed at the upstream of the cylindrical pier. Laminar flow is adopted in order to perform the steady-state analysis. It is found that the flow separation leads to the formation of four bubbles depending on the value of the curved vane angle. Two bubbles are located in the region between the rear of the curved vane and the leading surface of the cylindrical pier, while the remaining two bubbles are located at the wake zone behind the cylindrical pier. Numerical analysis is performed to reveal the hydrodynamic field and influence of curved vane on the formation and evolution of the bubbles. It is found that the center and size of the bubble depend mainly on the value of the curved vane angle. It is observed that the flow velocity vector shows clearly the alteration in the flow velocity direction especially at the leading surface and rear surface of the curved vane owing to the occurrence of flow separation and flow dissipation along the circumference of the vane.

  • This study aims to examine the effects of on premium convergence products buying behavior. This paper analyzed the positive attitude formation using the basic and extended TAM and also revealed how the positive premium convergence product attitude relate to relationship purchasing intention and word of mouth intention. The samples of 562 consumer indicate that the antecedents are consist of four dimension(perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social value) and attitude is developed into buying intention and word of mouth intention. We have reached the following conclusion about the antecedents and outcomes factors of customer attitude for the launch of premium convergence product. First, perceived usefulness, perceived delight, and social value had a positive effect on customer attitude but perceived ease of use did not. Second, we found that customer attitude had a positive effect on purchase intention and word-of mouth intention. Finally, interaction effect of perceived usefulness/perceived delight and social value had a positive effect on customer attitude. Our findings suggested that adoptian and diffusion of premium convergence product is influenced by several behavior factors. Managerially, our result emphasize that premium convergence products must satisfy not only the perceived usefulness/delight but also social value that consumers are seeking in order to be successful in the market. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed as well.

  • Recently, religious communities have devised multiple practical training programs for spiritual formation and direction. In this study, we define Christian spiritual formation as a lifelong journey of growing, progressing, increasing and strengthening toward wholeness in the image of Christ. In dialogue with J. Edwards' theology of spiritual sense, this essay suggests three major points of holistic spiritual formation in depth: first, spiritual Formation is a process; second, spiritual formation should attend to the balance between God's Initiative and Human Agency; third, holistic spiritual formation is a process to seek God-self. Spiritual formation is not a static status acquired by several techniques, methods or programs. It is a formative process through which one prepares to comprehend divine love and purpose. Spiritual formation is a dynamic process to respond to the One who shapes our life path with increasing faithfulness. Holistic comprehension of Christian spiritual formation will assist postmodern people to find meaning, value, purpose, and identity through deeper experiences with God in the midst of the fragmented and troubled world, so that they could restore wholeness in the image of God.

  • This study is concerned with creep characteristics of red shale in the Haman Formation by the single stage and multi stage loading tests. Creep constants in the Griggs's experiential equation, ${\epsilon}_t$= a+$b{\cdot}log$ t + $c{\cdot}t$, are determined by regression analysis on the total data obtained. The transition time between the primary and second creep means the time when the differential value of $b{\cdot}log$ t is equal to the differential value of $c{\cdot}t$. The correlation equation between loads (${\sigma}$%) and creep constants is deduced from the three times multi stage loading tests. Also a failure time under each loads is anticipated from creep constants and maximum strain at the failure.
