With the available national spatial information that started from the sinkholes that occurred nationwide in 2014 and integrated 15 areas of underground information, the Underground Spatial Integrated Map has been continuously maintained since 2015. However, until recently, as disasters and accidents in underground spaces such as hot water pipes rupture, cable tunnel fires, and ground subsidence continue to occur, there is an increasing demand for quality improvement of underground information. Thus, this paper attempted to prepare a plan to improve the quality of the Underground Spatial Integrated Map data. In particular, among the 15 types of underground information managed through the Underground Spatial Integrated Map, quality validation improvement measures were proposed for underground facility (structure-type) data, which has the highest proportion of new constructions. To improve the current inspection methods that primarily rely on visual inspection, we elaborate on and subdivide the current quality inspection standards. Specifically, we present an approach for software-based automated inspection of databases, including graphics and attribute information, by adding three quality inspection items, namely, quality inspection methods, rules, and flow diagram, solvable error types, to the current four quality inspection items consisting of quality elements, sub-elements, detailed sub-elements, and quality inspection standards.
The purpose of this research is to propose the measurement of improving DEM by using the water surface range of SAR image analysis for river corridors and to suggest the construction of satellite-based 3D river spatial information of inaccessible regions such as North Korea. For this research, it has been progressed from the accessible area, watershed of Namgang river, the branch of Nakdonggang river. The satellite image was collected from SAR satellite image data for a year in 2021 which was provided by ESA from Sentinel-1A/B data and extracted from the seasonal water surface area. Ground gauge water level was collected from hourly intervals data by WAMIS. The DEM was improved by analysis of the river altitude of water surface area change by the combination of the ground water level of minimum to maximum water surface area data extracted from SAR image analysis. After the improvement of DEM, the altitude of the river varied that it is defined to comprise more natural form of river DEM than the existing DEM. The correction validation of improvement DEM was necessary in field survey elevation data; however, the correction validation was not progressed due to the absence of the data. Although, the purpose of this research is to provide the improvement of DEM by using the analyzed water surface by existing DEM data and SAR image analysis. After the progression of additional correction validation research, we would plan to examine the application in other places and to progress the additional methodological research to apply in inaccessible and unmeasured area including the North Korea.

Several techniques have been developed in the last years for energy conversion and aeronautic propulsion plants monitoring and diagnostics, to ensure non-stop availability and safety, mainly based on machine learning and pattern recognition methods, which need large databases of measures. This paper aims to describe a simulation based monitoring and diagnostic method to overcome the lack of data. An application on a gas turbine powered frigate is shown. A MATLAB-SIMULINK(R) model of the frigate propulsion system has been used to generate a database of different faulty conditions of the plant. A monitoring and diagnostic system, based on Mahalanobis distance and artificial neural networks have been developed. Experimental data measured during the sea trials have been used for model calibration and validation. Test runs of the procedure have been carried out in a number of simulated degradation cases: in all the considered cases, malfunctions have been successfully detected by the developed model.

This paper presents an optimal design process using beads on a body panel to improve interior noise of a passenger vehicle. Except modification of structural members, it is difficult to find effective countermeasures that can work for the intermediate frequency range from 100 Hz to 300 Hz which lies between the booming and low medium frequency. In this study, it is a major goal to find additional counter-measures for this intermediate frequency range by performing optimal design of beads on body panels. The proposed method for design optimization consists of 4 sub-steps, that is, a) problem definition, b) cause analysis, c) countermeasure development and d) validation. The objective function is minimization of interior noise level. The major design variables are the geometrical shape of a bead and combination of beads on the critical panels. Sensitivity analysis and optimization are performed according to the predefined process for an optimal design. It is verified that the proposed design decreases the level of noise transfer function above 5 dB.

The field plate test has a good potential for determining since it measures both plate pressure and settlement. The deformation modulus of rock mass is differently measured for status of structures. The values of deformation modulus are obtained from laboratory test (uniaxial and triaxial test) and field test (pressuremeter test). Plate load test should be conducted by different loading plate sizes for geological structure of rock mass and scale of structures. In this paper, large plate load tests were performed to predict of structure's behavior and evaluate the ultimate bearing capacity of the foundation on soft rock. Simultaneously, deformation modulus of rock mass was estimated by back analysis of stresses measured in field test under rock mass. Finally, we verified the validation of deformation modulus of rock mass through result of large plate load test and numerical simulation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a 12-month ki-gong exercise program on obesity, physical flexibility, blood pressure and blood sugar in rural populations. Method: A 12-month ki-gong exercise session was conducted from September 2008 until August 2009 with 61 village attendees at a Healthcare Clinic, as part of an Oriental herb program at the health center. Data was collected three times; before the program initiation, at six months and at the end of the program. A one-group repeated measures ANOVA test was conducted for statistical validation using SPSS 12.0. Results: Participants showed a decrease in obesity (F=10.166, p=0.02), body weight (F=10.861, p=0.002) and body fat (F=36.311, p=0.000). They also showed an increase in physical flexibility(F=24.627, p=0.000), while systolic blood pressure and (F=8.550, p=0.005) blood sugar (F=5.464, p=0.023) decreased. Conclusion: The results of this study indicates that ki-gong exercise exhibits beneficial effects in decreasing obesity, blood pressure and blood sugar and enhancing physical flexibility.

The purpose of this study was to validate the Sasang Digestive function Inventory (SDFI) and Sasang Personality Questionnaire (SPQ) which measures the pathophysiolgoical symptoms and temperament of each Sasang types. The SDFI, SPQ along with Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Classification II (QSCCII) were measured with 191 College students. The correlation coefficient was measured with Pearson correlation between SDFI and SPQ. The SDFI and SPQ subscale score of each Sasang constitution groups based on QSCCII were compared using analysis of variance and profile analysis. The SDFI and SPQ total score of So-Eum Sasang type were significantly (p<0.001) different compared to those of Tae-Eum and So-Yang type, respectively. The SDFI and SPQ profile of each Sasang type group was significantly (p<0.001) different each other in profile analysis. There were no significant correlation (r=.126, p>0.05) between SDFI and SPQ total score, however the SDFI-Digestion scale showed significant correlation with SPQ subscales. We found that the SDFI and SPQ can measure the Sasang type-specific pathophysiological symptoms and temperaments, and it would be useful for the clinical application and interdisciplinary research when combined together.
The water quality from nonpoint source run off results from different land use types has been studied. The construction of a buffer strip is one method of nonpoint source pollutant control. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model has been applied to estimate the pollutant removal through the buffer strip. When the non-business land has been changed into grass to form a buffer-strip, the change of land use effects the results of the model according to measures of the water quality. The data from a water level station within the watershed in the years 2006 and 2007 was used for calibration and validation of the model. Under the rainfall conditions in 2007, the removal rates of SS, BOD, TN, TP were 11.5%, 9.5%, 1.2%, and 4.5%, respectively. During the rainy days, the removal rates at the buffer strip were 92.3% of SS, 91.2% of BOD, 82.4% of TN, and 83.5% of TP. The pollutants from nonpoint sources were effectively removed by over 80% as they passed through the buffer strips. Rainfall resulted in soil erosion, which led to an increase in the SS concentration, therefore, the construction of buffer strips protected the streams from SS inflows. Since TN concentrations are affected by the inflows of ground water and the N concentration of the rainfall, the removal rate of TN was relatively lower than for the other pollutants.

This study analyzed the outcomes of the Healthy Family Support Center's 2011 Pilot Project to support grandparent-grandchild families. This paper applied Frank Fisher's multidimensional evaluation methodology, which includes 4 steps: program verification, situational validation, system vindication and social choice. The major findings and their implications are as follows: the strong points of the pilot project are the characteristics of its services, i.e. sending services, customized services, family-unit services and integrated services. Therefore, it is necessary to train human resources to deliver these services more professionally and to provide comprehensive life-planning. The weak point of the pilot project is its lack of services relating to the self-reliance of the clients. Thus it is necessary to revise the service subsystems to include programs that promote self-support measures.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale (PIPPS) for Korean young children, with a special confirmative factor analysis. The participants were composed of 435 5-to 6-year-old children and their parents, and 42 teachers. The instruments included the 32-item exploratory PIPPS (Choi & Shin, 2008), the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire (PBQ; Park, 1992), and the PIPPS on parental reporting. The PIPPS was confirmed, and supported the following constructs resulting in the investigation of 3 factors, 'play disruption', 'play interaction', and 'play disconnection', along with 30 items similar to the PIPPS (2008). Inter-correlations between the sub-factors of PIPPS with those of criterion measures were validated by ratings from the PBQ and the parent version of the PIPPS. The reliability coefficients of the sub-factors of the PIPPS ranged from .85 to .92. In conclusion, 3 factor structure of the PIPPS was appropriate to represent the interactive peer play of Korean young children.
