This study compared cross-national Twitter use between Korea and Japan. The main exploratory variables were a) cultural traits and b) disclosure of geographic information. Twitter use was measured by the degree of reciprocity and the numbers of Tweets, followings, and followers. Data were collected using API-based software and analyzed with independent samples t-tests. Content analysis was conducted to validate the findings. The results indicate that Korean and Japanese users employ their own communication strategies reflecting their cultural orientation.

All most factories producing briquets in Seoul are currently located at residential districts. The coal dusts scattered from these factories are making serious problems in living. To get rid of this environmental pollution, moving thesis factories to places of mining coals is considered now. For doing this project, first, annual briquet demands are forecasted using regression analysis and then, optimal factory capacities to be built are obtained based on forecast demands using LP. To validate factory capacities obtained above simulation is conducted using SLAM II.

We establish a tripled coincidence and common tripled fixed point theorem for hybrid pair of mappings satisfying new contractive condition. To find tripled coincidence points, we do not use the continuity of any mapping involved therein. An example is also given to validate our result. We improve, extend and generalize several known results.

Human cell regulatory mechanism is one of suspicious problems among biologists. Here we tried to uncover the human breast cancer cell regulatory mechanism from gene expression data (Marc J. Van de vijver, et. al., 2002) using a module network algorithm which is suggested by Segal, et. al.(2003) Finally, we derived a module network which consists of 50 modules and 10 tree depths. Moreover, to validate this candidate network, we applied a GO enrichment test and known transcription factor-target relationships from Transfac(R) (V. Matys, et. al, 2006) and HPRD database (Peri, S. et al., 2003).

A new control strategy for dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is proposed. It is based on synchronous PI control strategy which features fast response. Therefore, the proposed control strategy takes faster action against a voltage sag. Experimental results, executed by DSP, are shown to validate the proposed control strategy.

This paper proposes a new feature extraction method which is effectively used in character recognition, and validate the effectiveness through various computational methods for similiarity degree. To get feature vectors used in this method, Hough transform is applied to character image, which is used for edge extraction in image processing. By that transformation technique, strokes could be extracted and feature vectors constructed suitably. The characteristic of this method is solving the difficulties in stroke extraction through transform space analysis, which is induced by noise and blurring, and representing high recognition rate 99.3% within 10 candidates in relative low dimension.

A neural net based generalized predictive control(NNGPC) is presented for a hydraulic servo position control system. The proposed scheme employs generalized predictive control, where the future output being generated from the output of artificial neural networks. The proposed NNGPC does not require an accurate mathematical model for the nonlinear hydraulic system and takes less calculation time than GPC algorithm if the teaming of neural network is done. Simulation studies have been conducted on the position control of a hydraulic motor to validate and illustrate the proposed method.

A switching control using multiple gains in the fuzzy rule is newly proposed for an abruptly changing hydraulic servo system. The proposed scheme employs fuzzy PID control, where modified input parameters are used, and LVQNN(Learning Vector Quantization Neural Network) as a switching controller (supervisor). Simulation and experimental studies have been carried out to validate and illustrate the proposed controller.

This paper is concerned with extracting the diagnostic signature for motor-operated valves (MOV's) noninvasively. A torque estimator is developed and tested to obtain electical torque of the induction motors which are attached to the MOV's. Inverse filter is used to recover the gear meshing forces from the measured actuator housing vibration, which contain the gear rotation information. Frequency demodulation techniques are performed and an adaptive linear bandpass filter is implemented to improve signal-to-noise ratio. Finally, stand-alone valve experiments are carried out to validate the signature extraction scheme.
