사람 시각 특성을 활용한 가상현실 브라우저에서의 시각적 피로도 절감 기술 (Reducing Visual Discomfort for VR Browser based on Visual Perception Characteristics)

  • VR browser is one of the most popular applications for VR(Virtual Reality) environment. However, because most of the web contents are not designed considering the VR environment, scrolling the web pages in the VR browser causes much visual discomfort. We found it's because the angular velocity of the eye movement during scrolling increased because the viewing distance got closer compared with legacy devices. So we have developed a technology that regulates the scrolling to reduce the visual discomfort in the VR browser, in reference of the visual perception characteristics of the human visual system.

  • This study proposed the Knowledge Base Building method reflecting the user's preferences based on the fuzzy set theory to develop information contents which support pedestrian's navigation. This research evaluated subject's preferences on the commercial spaces set to the hypothetical destination. Also it surveyed the causal relationship between the visual characteristics and the emotional characteristics to propose the methods of Navigation Knowledge Base (NKB). The NKB was composed by three elements; 1.the correlation model between emotional characteristics, 2.the causal relationship between visual characteristics and emotional characteristics, 3.the transformation model between visual characteristics and the physical characteristics.

소비자 변수와 패션리더십 - 심미적 성향, 혁신성, 대인민감성, 역할완화소비를 중심으로 - (Consumer Characteristics and Their Influences on Fashion Leadership - Focused on Centrality of Visual Product Aesthetics, Consumer Innovativeness, Consumer Susceptibility to Interpersonal Influences, and Role-relaxed Consumption -)

  • This study aimed to clarify the relationships among the characteristics of consumers and their influence on fashion leadership. Two kinds of variables were investigated in this study: centrality of visual product aesthetics and consumer innovativeness as personal characteristics, and role-relaxed consumption and consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence as interpersonal characteristics. Data were gathered by surveying university students in the Seoul metropolitan area, using convenience sampling, and 322 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. Factor analysis on the centrality of visual product aesthetics revealed three sub-factors: value, acumen, and response intensity. Meanwhile, factor analysis for consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence revealed two sub-factors: informative and normative conformities. However, consumer innovativeness, role-relaxed consumption, and fashion leadership revealed only one factor. Regression analysis showed that visual product aesthetics, especially acumen and response intensity, were the most influential factors; furthermore, consumer innovativeness and normative conformity had positive influence on fashion leadership. However, role-relaxed consumption had negative influence on fashion leadership.

대도시 집합주거단지의 경관적 특성과 평가구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Visual Characteristics & Evaluation Structure of Collective Housing Complex)

  • This study selects 45 housing complexes in Munheung, Ilgok and Sangmu districts of housing side development zones of Gwangju Metropolitan City and conducts the experiment the visual characteristics of these housing complexes through visual-perceptive information with their residents. As a result of experiment for the evaluation and structurization by visual-perceptive information of view image, there were affirmative evaluations in the whole experimental subjects except variables as 'innovative' and 'new' According to cluster types, while simple reiterative types showed affirmative responses except such items as 'dull', 'common' and 'uniform'. Variational types were affirmative in the whole items. It extracted four evaluation factors including variety, stability, harmony and symbolism. From the above research, it is understood that since the current housing site development has been made after developing housing site by public agencies and sold them to construction companies, housing complexes of different types were built within the same district. Therefore, it cannot be connected to the view of the whole district even if it considered view in planning housing complex. then when future housing side development or housing complex are planned, it is required that view guideline in the dimension of the district should be prepared and housing site development district or housing complex must be able to contribute to urban view by introducing master architect system.

  • This study will establish the transformal characteristics of architectural visual information by investigating: how contemporary architects perceive and process multifaceted architectural information via the expression media since 1970s. The purposes and results of this study are summarized as follows: This study established the contemporary transformal characteristics by comparing the expression methods of traditional architects with the transformal characteristics of visual information derived from the contemporary architectural expression media. In a pluralistic information society, the expression methods of the past, which recognize space as a stationary, unidimensional visual point on a drawing surface, is now changing to the mixed, multidimensional expression methods that connect various visual points on a limited drawing surface. Furthermore, the rapid advancement of digital media is changing, from a method which simply arranges visual information, to a flexible visual tool which can process architecture sequentially and simultaneously. As the communication structure of architecture is moving toward an individual-centered two-way communication type, the information delivery method is used to visualize conceptual, inferential information, rather than visualizing realistic information which simply records facts. In the past, multidimensional, non-linear forms could not be processed by the conventional design processes and sketch work, but now they can be expressed via digital media.

Depth perception enhancement based on chromostereopsis in a 3D display

  • This study was conducted to enhance the cubic effect by representing an image with a sense of three-dimensional (3D) depth, using chromostereopsis, among the characteristics of human visual perception. An algorithm that enhances the cubic effect, based on the theory that the cubic effect of the chromostereoptic effect and the chromostereoptic reversal effect depends on the lightness of the background, classifies the layers of the 3D image input into the foreground, middle, and background layers according to the depth of the image input. It suits the characteristics of human visual perception because it controls the color factor that was adaptively detected through experiments on each layer; and it can achieve an enhanced cubic effect that is suitable for the characteristics of the image input.

3D 영화 상영관의 좌석별 위치에 따른 시각피로도, 프레즌스, 그리고 인지된 특성 분석 (Effects of the seat position in the theater on visual fatigue, presence and perceived characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 3D 상영관 내의 각 좌석의 공간적 특징에 따라 3D 효과가 어떻게 나타나는지를 시각피로도, 프레즌스, 인지된 특징을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과 극장 좌석의 위치가 스크린으로부터 떨어진 거리와 시야각이 시각피로도와 인지된 특성에 유의미한 영향이 있음을 검증하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 좌석별 시각피로도와 스크린으로부터의 거리 평균지점으로 부터의 편차와 시야각은 정적 상관관계가 있었다는 점에서 3D 상영관에서 3D 품질을 보장하기 위한 좌석 배치에 유의해야 함을 알려준다. 둘째, 3D 상영관에서 좌석의 위치적 영향이 프레즌스에는 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 좌석별 인지된 특성과 스크린으로부터의 거리 평균지점으로 부터의 편차와 시야각은 부적 상관관계가 있었다는 점에서 3D 상영관의 모든 좌석에서 3D에 대한 인지된 특성이 다르다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 3D극장에서의 실증적인 연구를 통해 공간적 변인에 따른 3D효과를 검증했으며, 연구 결과는 3D극장 좌석의 표준을 제정하기 위한 기초자료로 삼을 수 있다. 또한 3D 영상의 성능지표 및 피로도 규제와 관련한 법 제정에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

하천의 물리적 구조에 따른 하천경관의 선호도 및 시각적 이미지 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Preference and Visual Characteristics of Stream Landscape According to Hydromorpological Structures)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 다양한 생태적 특성이 나타난 하천구간에 대한 경관의 선호도 및 시각적 이미지 형성에 영향을 주는 물리적 구조 특성을 실증적으로 밝혀내는 것이다. 하천의 물리적 구조 평가를 위해 LAWA기법을 활용하여 하천의 생태성을 평가하고, SD평가법을 통해 하천경관의 시각적 이미지를 조사하여 연구대상지의 물리적 구조 특성에 따른 시각적 이미지 차이를 비교 고찰하였다. 그 결과 생태성이 양호한 구간이 결여된 구간보다 조화롭고 아름다우며 자연적이고 깨끗한 이미지를 형성한다고 밝혀졌으며, 이러한 시각적 이미지에 큰 영향을 주는 물리적 구조는 하천식생 및 횡단형태, 인공구조물의 유무로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 하천복원시 훼손대상지의 생태적 기능과 경관미 향상을 위해 고려해야할 하천의 물리적 구조를 예측하고 제안하는데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

플레어 팬츠의 바지부리 폭과 허리선 위치의 변화에 따른 시각적 평가 (A Study on the Visual Evaluation According to Changes in Width of Hem Line and Waistline Position of Flare Pants)

  • The purpose of this study is to recognize the differences of visual evaluation by variations in width of hem line and waistline position of the flare pants. The stimuli are 9 samples: One control group, 3 variations of the width of hem line and 3 variations of the waistline position. The data has been obtained from 44 fashion students. The data has been analyzed by Factor Analysis, Anova, Scheffe's Test and the MCA method. The results of the study are as follows: The visual evaluation by the width of hem line and waistline position of flare pants are composed of 5 factors : physical characteristics, elegance, originality, comfort, and stiffness. Among these factors, the physical characteristic is evaluated to be the most important factor. As a v isual evaluation result o f changes in the width o f hern l ine, 8 4 cm in width (the narrowest width) was highly evaluated in physical characteristics, elegance, and originality factors. For the result of changes in the waistline position, high-waisted flare pants were highly effective in physical characteristics, and also evaluated well in elegance, originality and stiffness factors. The flare pants did not show any interaction between the width of hem line and waistline position. The waistline position had more influence on visual evaluation in physical characteristics, originality and comfort factors while elegance and stiffness factors were affected by the width of hem line.

  • 패션 점포의 비주얼(visual) 환경은 소비자를 점포로 이끌고, 최종적으로 구매를 유도하기 위해 매우 중요한 요소로 본 연구에서는 패션 점포를 방문하는 소비자들의 행동에 영향을 미치는 비주얼 환경 요소에 대하여 연구하였다. 먼저 소매 점포에서 점포의 비주얼 환경이 소비자들의 행동(점포에 머무르는 시간)에 미치는 영향을 조사하였고 다음 실제 점포의 비주얼 환경의 차원은 어떻게 구성되는지, 또 구성된 요소 별로 소비자특성에 따른 선호의 정도는 어떻게 다른지 살펴보았다. 그 결과 패션 점포의 비주얼 환경이 실제 소비자들의 패션 점포에서의 체류 시간에 영향을 줌을 확인하였다. 또 비주얼 환경의 요인으로써 디자인, 편리성, 상품 평가의 용이성, 분위기의 4가지 차원을 규명하였고, 소비자 특성에 따라 선호되는 요인이 특성 별로 다름을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 소매 점포에서의 비주얼 환경의 중요성을 확인할 수 있고, 실제 점포의 비주얼 정책 수립과 점포 비주얼 환경의 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
