Development of Sensor Structure and Operating Circuit for Constant Resistive Type Flow Velocity/Mass Sensor (정저항형 유속/유량 센서의 구조 및 회로 개선 연구)

  • In this paper, the flow velocity/mass sensor which is based on the principle of CCT(Constant Chip Temperature) and its digital operating circuit and system have been developed and tested. The experimental result for flow velocity shows that the sensitivity is $644.01{\mu}W^2/[m/sec]$ for air, and there is nearly no hysteresis for full measured range of velocity. Response tine is between 1 second and 8 seconds for low and large velocity variation, respectively.

  • This paper deals with the improvement of visual path following through velocity variation according to the coordinate of feature points. Visual path follow first teaches driving path by selecting milestone images then follows the route by comparing the milestone image and current image. We follow the visual path following algorithm of Chen and Birchfield [8]. In [8], they use fixed translational and rotational velocity. We propose an algorithm that uses different translational velocity according to the driving condition. Translational velocity is adjusted according to the variation of the coordinate of feature points on image. Experimental results including diverse indoor cases show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • It is often assumed that the wave velocity at the bottom given by potential wave theory il the same as the wave velocity at the top of the turbulent boundary layer. This assumption is found to be the major cause of the error detected by recent elaborate theories and numerical models for the description of velocity profile near the sea bottom. A relationship is suggested between the potential velocity and the real boundary velocity. Based on this relation, the existing theories of Jonsson (1967) and Fredsoe (1984) are refined for the estimation of wave friction factor, and the computation results of the modified theories are favourably compared with the published laboratory results.

Long-slit Spectroscopy of Parsec-scale Jets from YSOs

  • We present a study on the parsec-scale jets from young stellar objects using long-slit spectroscopic data obtained from Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory on 2012 - 2014. Through the position-velocity diagrams, we show the radial velocity variation, peak velocity and velocity width of the outflow from several T Tauri stars and Herbig Ae/Be star. $H{\alpha}$, [OI] 6300/6363, [NII] 6548/6584 and [SII] 6716/6731 emission lines are obtained and they show various velocity features. We also compare our result with other data from literatures.

  • In this study, properties of shear wave velocity of core zone in filldams are analyzed. Shear wave velocity is derived using analysis of surface wave method that can be used nondestructively on the surface of filldams. These values are acquired through the tests for the core zone of six filldams by SASW and HWAW methods. Existing 2 more results are added. Shear wave velocity according to the depth and confining pressure are estimated, respectively. These analytical results are compared with the frequently used empirical method by Sawada and Takahashi.

  • It is well known that the natural frequencies of the pipe come to be lower as internal fluid velocity and pressure increase, and the pipe will be unstable if the fluid velocity is higher than critical velocity. But even if the velocity of the fluid below the critical velocity, resonance will be caused by pulsation of the fluid. So the effects of pulsating fluid in pipe should be also taken into consideration for better analysis. The research of the vibration of piping system due to a fluid pulsation has been studied by many people. But most of them are dealt with determining the boundary between stable and unstable region without analyzing forced response in the stable region. In this study, not only stability analysis but also forced response analysis, which is caused by harmonically excited fluid especially, is conducted. In order to analyze the system numerically, the descretized equation is formulated by using FEM(Finite Element Method). And the results of this method are compared with those of AMM(Assumed Mode Method) which were used by many researcher earlier.

  • A Lamb wave guided by a plate structure has dispersive characteristics because phase and group velocity change with the variation of frequency and thickness. The Lamb wave has two modes, symmetric and anti-symmetric mode, which propagates symmetrically and non-symmetrically with respect to centerline. In this paper, the derivation of Lamb wave equation with anisotropic material property is investigated. The phase velocity and group velocity dispersion curves are shown using the stiffness matrix of composite materials with the variation of angle.

  • This paper presents the sensitivity analysis of the leasst qsuares velocity estimation of an omnidirectional mobile robot using a regular polygonal array of optical mice. First, the velocity kinematics from a mobile robot to an array of optical mice is derived as an overdetermined linear system. Then, for a given set of optical mouse readings, the least squares velocity estimation of a mobile robot is obtained as the simple average. Finally, the sensitivity analysis of the proposed least squares velocity estimation to imprecise installation is made.

  • When designing structures to the wind action, the variation of the mean wind velocity and turbulence parameters with the height above the ground must be taken into account. This paper presents the numerical simulation results of atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) airflows, in a numerical domain with no obstacles and with a cubic building. The results of the flow characterization, obtained with the FLUENT CFD code were performed using the ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model with the MMK modification. The mean velocity and turbulence intensity profiles in the inflow boundary were defined in accordance with the Eurocode 1.4, for different conditions of aerodynamic roughness. The maintenance of the velocity and turbulence characteristics along the domain were evaluated in an empty domain for uniform incident flow and the ABL Eurocode velocity profiles. The pressure coefficients on a cubic building were calculated using these inflow conditions.

  • In this study the mixing process of two-phase flow which makes two jets existing vlocity difference are analyzed. The primary jet is jetted on the condition of the state mixed pulverized solid pariticle with air and the velocity in the secondary jet is changed into three kinds velocities(0.60, 75m/s) The velocity vector field concentration field and turbulent properties of solid particles are measured by using 3-Dimensional Particles Dynamics Analyzer. As the velocity of secondary jet increases the solid particle recirculation zone becomes larger. Also solid particle concentration gets dense due to velocity decrement of particles.
