Bus-tie application scheme of 154 kV class SFCLs in Korean power systems

  • This paper proposes the bus-tie application scheme of 154 kV SFCL (superconducting fault current limiter) in Korean power system. The reduced amount of fault current by SFCL is different by where the SFCL is installed. Therefore the inflow ratio of fault current (IRFC) is suggested to consider the effect of an SFCL's location. The proposed scheme was applied to the Korean Power System of 2010, and fault currents were calculated and analyzed with this coefficient. Simulations show that the location with high IRFC is adequate to install SFCL but more consideration of other things is required to determine the location and capacity of SFCL.

지간-높이 비에 따른 스트럿-타이 모델과 ACI 고전적인 방법의 설계 비교 (Design Comparison of Strut Tie Model and ACI Traditional by Clear Span-to-Depth Ratio)

  • 깊은 보는 지간-높이 비가 중요한 파라미터이다. 깊은 보를 설계할 때, ACI 318-02 이후 버전에서는 응력의 비선형 분포로 인해서 고전적인 설계 방법이 아니라 스트럿-타이 모델을 부록에 수록하여, 이 방법으로 설계하도록 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 ACI 고전적인 설계방법과 스트럿-타이 모델을 비교, 분석하였다. 파라미터 연구로 지간-높이 비를 변화시켰으며, 총 68개의 샘플을 분석하였다. 결과로 고전적인 설계 방법과 스트럿-타이 모델은 빔의 지간-높이 비에 따라서 각각 장단점이 있으며, 본 논문에 깊은 보를 설계할 때의 팁이 제시되어 있다.

균일한 슬롯 폭을 갖는 5 GHz 대역 보우타이 형태의 미앤더 슬롯 안테나 (Uniform Slot Width Bow-tie-shaped Meander Slot Antenna for 5 GHz Application)

  • 본 논문에서는 균일한 슬롯 폭을 갖는 5 GHz 대역 보우타이 형태의 미앤더 슬롯 안테나를 제안한다. 보우타이 슬롯안테나는 광대역 특성을 갖는 반면 크기가 크다는 단점이 있고, 미앤더 슬롯 안테나는 소형이지만 대역폭이 좁다. 그러므로 광대역 특성을 갖는 소형 안테나의 개발을 위하여, 일반적인 형태의 미앤더 슬롯을 보우타이 형태로 변화시켰다. 모의실험결과, 제안된 안테나는 같은 슬롯 폭과 슬롯 길이를 갖는 미앤더 슬롯 안테나보다는 대역폭이 3배정도 넓고, 같은 크기를 갖는 보우타이 슬롯 안테나보다는 공진 주파수가 3.01 GHz낮아짐을 볼 수 있었으며, 측정결과, 제안된 안테나는 소형이지만, 대역폭이 218 MHz(5.142 GHZ - 5.360 GHz)로써 원하는 동작 주파수(5.15 GHz - 5.35 GHz)를 만족한다.

  • 국내에서도 345kV O.F. 지중케이블의 실용화의 문이 열렸다. 한국전력공사에서 건설하는 삼천포 화력 3, 4호기 증설공사에는 국내 최초로 최고전압계통인 345kV 1×2000㎟ 및 1×1200㎟ 알루미늄 피 Oil-Filed 케이블을 사용하였으며, 대한 전선(주)에서 이를 설계, 제작납품 및 시공을 완료(Unit /sup #/3, /sup #/4 및 Tie Line)하였다. 본고에서는 케이블 및 부속재의 설계부터 현장 시공에 이르기까지를 소개한다.

  • This paper is for studying the feasibility of SFCL application for the interconnection operation of 154kV power systems under 345kV S/S in Korean power system. All Korean 154kV power systems are constructed as loop systems in downtown. However, the present 154kV systems are operated with separated systems around 345kV S/S because of fault current and overload problems. In this study, we investigate the structure and operation of 154kV power system in Seoul and study the feasibility of interconnection operation of 154kV systems under 345kV systmes by applying SFCLs to 154kV bus-tie.

Dual Monopolies of New Durables and Their Ancillaries: Exclusive Supply Contracts

  • A manufacturer of a durable good typically purchases supplies, including parts for assembly - that are also useful for repairs - from independent "original equipment suppliers" with which it contracts. The manufacturer is a branded monopolist of its final assembled product. To put into effect also a monopoly of the replacement parts, it must stipulate in its arrangements with independent suppliers of the parts that they not supply such patented parts to any other buyer. Durable good owners would then only be able to obtain their requirements of replacement parts from the same company that supplied the durable. This would amount to a tie-in of replacement parts to the direct purchase of new durables. And that describes the apparently widespread practice of automobile manufacturers in India, as exposed in a recent case before the Competition Commission of India (Samsher Kataria v Honda Siel Cars India Limited and others). Here, I will argue that such tie-in enabled automotive manufacturers to more fully appropriate consumer surplus, which induced them to lower the price of new cars, sell more cars and also sell more repair parts. The tie-in expanded the auto parts industry and promoted new entry. The main restraint on expansion of India's automotive manufacturing is not monopoly. It is government protection in the form of tariffs on automobiles and auto parts.

전력계통에서의 초전도 한류기 설치를 위한 기초적 연구 (Preliminary investigation of a proposed site for SFCL installation in the power systems)

  • We have conducted Preliminary investigation to propose a suitable site for superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) installation in the KEPCOs 154kV grid This investigation limited the application SFCL to the bus-tie position of the grid in the Seoul area. First, we calculated maximum Potential fault current for all substations. Then, among substations where the fault current exceeds the CB capacity, rye selected two substations where buses are being operated untied. For the selected two. S S/S and M S/S. fault currents at the M S/S were estimated to be 22.5㎄ and 24.3㎄ for two buses untied respectively, but 44.2㎄ if buses were tied. Simulation using a hypothetical SFCL of 5 Ohm impedance showed that it controlled the fault current up to 20. 1㎄ for bus-tie Position, 28.4㎄ and 29.9㎄ for both buses. respectively, each of which are under the capacity of the currently installed 31.5㎄ GIS. For both substations a SFCL with 5 Ohm impedance successfully controls the fault current under the CB capacity, and 10 Ohm SFCL may be recommendable to maximize the SFCL effect.

  • As the load density of KEPCO system is higher, the fault current can be much higher than SCC(Short Circuit Capacity) of circuit breaker. Fault current exceeding the rating of circuit breaker is a very serious problem in high density load area, which can threaten the stability of whole power system. Even though there are several alternatives to reduce fault current, as the superconductivity technology has been developed, the HTS-FCL (High Temperature Superconductivity Fault Current Limiter) can be one of the attractive alternatives to solve the fault current problem. This study presents the application plication of 154kV HTS-FCL in Korean power system.
