정보행위 분석을 통한 정보서비스 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Information Services Based upon the Analysis of Information Behaviors)

  • 정보접근, 획득, 이용자와 정보시스템과의 상호작용과 관련된 내용 중심으로 연구된 이용자 연구는 변화된 정보환경에서 정보획득과 공유행위를 포함한 정보행위 관점에서 연구할 필요가 있다. Wilson의 정보행위 개념을 적용하여 도서관과 인터넷 환경에서 이용자 정보획득과 공유행위의 요구 및 동기, 과정의 내용을 분석하기 위해 질적 연구와 양적 연구의 통합적 접근을 시도하였다. 통합적 분석을 토대로 정보서비스 개선방안을 제시하였다.

Periodic Biometric Information Collection Interface Method for Wearable Vulnerable Users

  • Recently, wearable computers equipped with various biosensors such as smart watches, smart bands, and smart patches that support daily health management of users as well as patients have been released. Users of wearable computers such as smart watches face various difficulties in performing biometric information processes such as data sensing, collection, transmission, real-time analysis, and feedback in a weak wireless and mobile biometric information service environment. In particular, the biometric information collection interface is an important basic process that determines the quality and performance of the entire biometric information service. So far, research has focused on sensing hardware and logic. This study intensively considers the interface method for effectively sensing and collecting raw biometric information. In particular, the process of collecting biometric information is designed and analyzed from the perspective of periodicity. Therefore, we propose an efficient and stable periodic collection method.

  • Video learning through YouTube has emerged as one of the most widely used instructional methods, yet relatively little research has been conducted on YouTube video users' willingness to use or behavior, so it is important to examine how to make and keep users' willingness to continue learning and to improve their retention rate for effective online learning. With reference to perceived value theory and utilizing an ECM perspective, the authors construct a model of YouTube video continuous learning intention and investigate the influence of perceived value and satisfaction on users' willingness to use YouTube videos for continuous learning.

  • Augmented reality, which has recently drawn great attention, has along history in technical terms. However, the latest emergence of mobile augmented reality using smartphones is allowing people to access augmented reality more easily and faster than ever. However, a review of existing studies shows that most of them have focused on the technical realization of augmented reality, whereas few studies have dealt with how users perceive augmented reality. For users, augmented reality is a means of knowledge transfer, which enables the experience of more abundant reality by providing additional informatio nsources to objects or landscapes. There fore, the element of experience must be considered for the perception of users. In addition, the current augmented reality technology certainly provides users with more fun than any other existing technologies. In this regard, this study intended to divided experiences not only into sensory experiences, but also into entertainment, educational, escapist, and esthetic experiences based on the experience economy theory suggested by Pine and Gilmore(1998). Moreover, this study intended to examine whether mobile augmented reality applications, which are highly popular as a means of the experience economy, influence the usefulness, convenience, and enjoyment perceived by users, and to identify which of these cognitive elements influence usage intentions.

Investigating the use of multiple social networking services: A cross-cultural perspective in the United States and Korea

  • The rise in recent technology has changed the ways, in which people communicate with one another. Social networking services (SNSs) have become one of the most representative means. General SNSs allow users to create their own unique profiles, search for fellow members, share information, etc., while other SNSs have functions that cater to different needs of users. As a result, users of SNSs have begun to pick and choose different SNSs and concurrently use multiple SNSs in order to fulfill all their needs. This exploratory study examined which SNSs are used together and the characteristics that predict the use of multiple SNSs. In addition, it observed the differences between consumers' usage of multiple SNSs in different cultures. An online survey was administered to SNS users in the United States and Korea. The results of the study showed that the use of multiple SNSs is not yet prevalent in Korea, the country that represented a collectivistic culture. In addition, in the U.S., the highest number of users reported that they were active on at least three SNSs.

자주식 휠체어 접근성 실태에 기반한 대학 건물 3차원 접근성맵 제작 - 충북대학교 사례를 중심으로 - (3D Accessibility Map Development for College Buildings Based on Assessment of Manual Wheelchair Users' Accessibility - Focused on Cases of in Chungbuk National University -)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate accessibility condition of buildings in a college from manual wheel chair users' perspective in order to suggest improvements, and to develop 3D accessibility maps in order to assist manual wheelchair users' prior planning for the building use. In May 2020, on-site investigation was held to three buildings in Chungbuk National University. Major findings were as follows. (1) There were some building entrances that showed level difference over 2cm without proper ramp with slow slope 1/8 or less. (2) Some rooms were found to have accessibility issues to have floors with height more than 2cm, and/or to have no height-adjustable desks. (3) Although accessible restrooms were in good condition for manual wheelchair users' access and use, it is suggested to install accessible restroom for each gender in each floor for better access. Using the study results, 2-dimensional accessibility maps for each floor were developed in color and grayscale, which were further developed into 3-dimensional accessibility maps for each building.

노인자살 예방서비스 성과의 의미에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Meaning of Performance of the Elderly Suicide Prevention Service)

  • 본 연구는 노인자살 예방서비스 실천과정에서 경험하는 성과의 의미를 파악하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 노인자살 예방서비스 제공기관의 기관장, 실무자, 서비스 이용자의 시각에서 나타난 성과를 서비스 제공기관의 측면과 서비스 이용자의 측면, 그리고 다차원적 시각에서 분석하였다. 연구방법은 질적연구의 한 방법으로 사례연구 방법을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 노인자살 예방서비스 제공기관의 기관장과 실무자가 공통적으로 인식하는 성과는 '서비스 실천과정에서 구조적인 장애물을 인식하고, 서비스 이용자와 지역사회의 변화를 경험하는 성취'로 나타났으며, 서비스 이용자는 '서비스 경험에 따른 내면의 인식변화'로 나타났다. 분석 주체별로 살펴본 성과의 의미와 본질은 첫째, 기관장이 인식하는 성과는 '서비스를 통해 기관의 정체성이 재발견되는 과정'으로, 둘째, 실무자가 인식하는 성과는 '지역사회와 조직에서 살아남기 위해 몸부림치는 과정 속에서 서비스 이용자들의 변화를 경험하며 지역사회와 조직에서 인정받기'로, 셋째, 서비스 이용자가 인식하는 서비스 경험의 성과는 '벼랑 끝에서 생명의 끈 부여잡기'로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로, 노인자살 예방서비스 실천현장의 성과측정을 위한 실천적, 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.

스마트폰 서비스의 수용적 요인에 관한 연구 : 사용자 관점에서 (A Study of Receptive Factors of Smartphone Service from the User's Perspective)

  • 본 논문은 스마트폰 제조업체, 이동통신사 등 관련기업들이 제공하고 있는 다양한 서비스들 중에서 사용자들에게 유용하며 투자 대비 효과가 큰 서비스들이 무엇인지에 대해 사용자 관점에서 고찰하고, 스마트폰을 이용한 새로운 서비스 모델을 구성하는 데 필요한 요소들을 도출하고자 한다. 특히, 계획된 행동이론(Theory of Planned Behavior, TPB)을 적용하여, 태도에 영향을 주는 태도적 신념(Attitudinal Belief), 주관적 규범(Subjective Norms), 통제 신념(Control Belief)을 스마트폰이 제공하는 세부 서비스들 관점에서 설정함으로써 서비스 종류별로 사용자들이 서비스들에 대해 갖고 있는 신념이 태도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과 태도적 신념 10개 중 5개가 통제적 신념 3개 중 1개가 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났고, 주관적 규범이 높을수록 사용이 높아질 것이라는 가설은 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문의 결과를 토대로 이동통신사 및 스마트폰 제조업체에게는 스마트폰을 이용한 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 수립하는데 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

정부주도형 및 민간주도형 푸드뱅크(Food Bank) 사업의 이용자 실태 및 이용특성 분석 (Analysis on the Characteristics of Government-dominant and Non-governmental Food Bank Programs from the Users' Perspective)

  • The objectives of this study were to (a) examine the users' characteristics of both government-dominant and non-governmental food bank programs, (b) understand the supporting quality of the food bank program, and (c) analyse the effectiveness of the programs from the users' perspectives. The random samples of 120 food bank operators were selected by proportionate stratified random sampling method and from each food bank, 3 users were selected for the survey. A total of 205 users were participated in this survey. The main results of this study were as follows; Average profile of food bank users were 58 year old, female, livelihood protectee ($56.6\%$). Food assistance frequency were mostly once a week ($34.1\%$), and everyday ($22.4\%$). The survey also showed that non-governmental food banks delivered the food directly to the $42.7\%$ of users, otherwise the users of government-dominant ones went to the food bank to receive the foods. Most of the donated foods were cooked food ($50.0\%$), and the users also wanted to receive that kinds of food. Saving food expenses ($55.6\%$) and overcoming hunger ($16.6\%$) were found as the effectiveness to the users.

A Conceptual Framework for an Information Behavior Model Based on the Collaboration Perspective between User and System for Information Retrieval

  • This research aimed (1) to study and analyze the ability of current information retrieval (IR) systems based on views of information behavior (IB), and (2) to propose a conceptual framework for an IB model based on the collaboration between the system and user, with the intent of developing an IR system that can apply intelligent techniques to enhance system efficiency. The methods in this study consisted of (1) document analysis which included studying the characteristics and efficiencies of the current IR systems and studying the IB models in the digital environment, and (2) implementation of the Delphi technique through an indepth interview method with experts. The research results were presented in three main parts. First, the IB model was categorized into eight stages, different from traditional IB, in the digital environment, which can correspond to all behaviors and be applied to with an IR system. Second, insufficient functions and log file storage hinder the system from effectively understanding and accommodating user behavior in the digital environment. Last, the proposed conceptual framework illustrated that there are stages that can add intelligent techniques to the IR system based on the collaboration perspective between the user and system to boost the users' cognitive ability and make the IR system more user-friendly. Importantly, the conceptual framework for the IB model based on the collaboration perspective between the user and system for IR assisted the ability of information systems to learn, recognize, and comprehend human IB according to individual characteristics, leading to enhancement of interaction between the system and users.
