The explosive growth of the world-wide-web and the emergence of e-commerce has led to the development of recommender systems. Recommender systems are personalized information filtering used to identify a set of items that will be of interest to a certain user. This paper reviews recommender systems and presents their pros and cons.

This study reviews several innovative electronic reference services that will be transformed in the age of the virtual library. This study focused on reference service via E-mail and electronic bulletin board which is regarded as the most important service in a variety of electronic reference services. Through E-mail and the electronic bulletin board, the user submits questions and the librarian responds with the answer. Though interest in using E-mail and electronic bulletin board as a basis for reference service has grown considerably in recent years, it is still in its infancy in Korea. Thus the purpose of this study is to propose a model electronic reference service system using E-mail and the electronic bulletin board for university libraries in Korea. This system consists of the following modules: electronic reference services policy, open reference service via electronic bulletin board, closed reference service via E-mail, and FAQ. This system is meant to be a guide for those considering implementing such a service.

YouTube has been gaining popularity all around the world. A lot of companies have created their own YouTube channels to leverage them in diverse ways; they upload commercial videos, show people user reviews, and conduct promotions with their products. Sports clubs are no exception; they upload diverse videos to gain popularity and to interact with their fans. This study analyzes how the English Premier League (EPL) clubs leverage their YouTube channel as soccer (football in European nations) players. YouTube activities of 20 clubs during the 2019/2020 Season are investigated. After careful consideration, we decide to examine two factors of the respective channel of the YouTube: 1) Popularity (the number of views and subscribers) 2) Contents of videos (e.g. interviews and highlight scenes). The study followingly inspects the benefits of utilizing YouTube channels and of direct communication between sports clubs and fans in online settings.

The primary objective of this paper is to examine of post acceptance behavior model in VCC services. Based on the relevant literature reviews, this study posits six characteristics, that is, expectation confirmation, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, satisfaction, and continuance intention as key variables to describe the post acceptance behavior model in VCC services. And then we constructed a research model and hypotheses about relationship between these variables. A total 286 usable survey responses of CCC service users have been employed in the analysis. The empirical results of this study are summarized as follows. Firstly, expectation confirmation has a positive effect on the perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and satisfaction. Secondly. perceived enjoyment has a positive effect on the satisfaction. Lastly, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and satisfaction have a positive effect on the continuance intention. These results will be helpful for the UCC services sector to further develop a service delivery strategies for strengthening the ongoing relationship with customers. Finally, some possible limits of the present research and future directions for such research were discussed.

To develop a Maglev successfully, it is necessary to develop the core technologies such as levitation and propulsion system and construct engineering system which can integrally evaluate performances of Maglev and provide technical reviews parametrically In this paper, we designed the Maglev running performance simulator which can provide decision-making Information for direction of development of Maglev and examination for running performance about the change of various design parameters such as safety and stability, noise, and ride quality. The designed system is an engineering-based system and can be developed using engineering framework by KIMM which can integrate diverse CAE systems in distributed environments and provide systematic information management. And it also provides VR-based visualization and web-based user interface except VR system which requires special hardware system.

Phytoremediation-the use of plants for the in situ treatment of contaminated soil and water-has recently emerged as an inexpensive and user-friendly alternative to traditional methods of environmental clean-up. The present article outlines the characteristics of phytoremediation based on accumulated research evidence, along with discussions on its advantages and disadvantages. It further reviews various mechanisms involved in the phytoremediation processes: phytoextraction, rhizofiltration, phytostabilization, phytovolatilization and phytodegradation. Along the way, the author summarizes examples of its applications to environmental pollution control. These include wastewater treatment, removal of heavy metals, and hydrocarbons, remediation of recalcitrant contaminants, phytoremediation of radionuclides, and application of transgenic plants for enhanced biodegradation and phytoremediation. The remainder of the article briefly concludes with directions for future research.

After emerging online communications, text mining and sentiment analysis has been frequently applied into analyzing electronic word-of-mouth. This study aims to develop a domain-specific lexicon of sentiment analysis to predict box office success in Korea film market and validate the feasibility of the lexicon. Natural language processing, a machine learning algorithm, and a lexicon-based sentiment classification method are employed. To create a movie domain sentiment lexicon, 233,631 reviews of 147 movies with popularity ratings is collected by a XML crawling package in R program. We accomplished 81.69% accuracy in sentiment classification by the Korean sentiment dictionary including 706 negative words and 617 positive words. The result showed a stronger positive relationship with box office success and consumers' sentiment as well as a significant positive effect in the linear regression for the predicting model. In addition, it reveals emotion in the user-generated content can be a more accurate clue to predict business success.

This study reviews the emerging new model of science and technology decision making process. It examines the open source software development model and community-based innovation model in technological innovation and the active participation model of Consensus Conference and Citizen's Jury in science and technology policy decision making. It argues that the role and influence of users in innovation and policy making is becoming important in these emerging models and the existing supplier-led, bureaucratic model of science and technology decision making model is changing.

This paper reviews the existing research activities on signaling and control procedures for IP over optical networks. We focus on the IP-centric signaling and control architecture based on the generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS) protocol and analyze various scenarios and technical issues for deploying the IP over an optical network. We analyze the signaling and operations and administration and maintenance requirements for integrating an IP network and an optical network in order to cope with the high bandwidth and poor resource granularity of the optical network, including the optical cross-connect system. On the basis of network architecture and a reference configuration model, we investigate the GMPLS-based control architecture and interconnection model appropriate for controlling IP bandwidth and optical lambda resources. The signaling and control procedure based on GMPLS on optical user-network interface and network-network interface are comparatively investigated to provide the optical lightpath. We also study protection and restoration procedures to protect link failure when it applies to generalized MPLS signaling.

In this paper, we propose factors that influence on the mobile commerce satisfaction conducted by data mining and a PLS regression analysis. We extracted the most frequent words from mobile application reviews in which there are a large number of user's requests. We employed the content analysis to condense the large number of texts. We took a survey with the categories by which data are condensed and specified as factors that influence on the mobile commerce satisfaction. To avoid multicollinearity, we employed a PLS regression analysis instead of using a multiple regression analysis. Discovered factors that are potential consequences of customer satisfaction from direct requests by customers, the result may be an appropriate indicator for the mobile commerce market to improve its services.
