  • The purpose of this study was to examine the dissatisfaction level of consumers buying foreign goods through Internet shopping malls and their complaint behavior. As there is growing demand for foreign brands along with a rapid increase in the Internet user population, a lot of ongoing studies have focused on Internet-based transaction. The dissatisfaction level of selected consumers was checked in terms of system, price, quality, information/hype, shipping and refund/exchange, and it's found that complaint behavior linked to refund/exchange was most prevalent. The most dominant way for them to respond to such situations was talking friends, relatives or neighbors about that. And they had an intention to buy foreign goods through Internet shopping malls again to greater or lesser extents, though they were unsatisfied. It indicates that the consumers didn't have a wide option in the consumer market.

  • The primary objective of this research was to establish and quantify the relationship between the physical degradation factors of multimedia telecommunications (teleconferencing) system and Subjective human perception. The research was performed in two stages. A field survey of the real users and pilot experiments were carried out in the first stage to determine customers' major complaints and corresponding system degradation factors. A prototype teleconferencing simulator was developed in two separate sound-treated chambers equipped with audio/video equipment running under a custom-developed software program. In the second stage, simulation experiments using the semantic differential methodology were performed utilizing 26 paid participants (14 college students and 12 housewives). The results indicated that audio/video synchronization and the frame rate were the main system factors for both subject groups, but different pattern of factors' influence was found according to the group, implying that the system configuration would hopefully accommodate the characteristics of the end users. Also, a single quality index, developed for system preference, was revealed to be highly correlated with user satisfaction. The results provide some fundamental data on the human subjective perception of multimedia telecommunications quality, and further can help establish the quality standards to enhance service level.

  • Nowadays, the construction sites are growing in city every year, so complaints for construction noise have increased more and more. To analyze this noise scientifically, construction noise prediction program was developed in 1998 and 2005 but it is too difficult to apply program in field because there is few soundproof facilities and it can't understand the coordinate system and so on. The aim of this study is to develop noise prediction program to apply in construction sites. For this, the problems of existing program was analyzed and survey was performed to get requestion of field overseer and upgraded program. To get reliability of program, it was compared with sound measurement value in field. As a result, construction sound prediction program have various soundproof facilities data than existing program. It can also analyze multi receiver point at the same time for several construction machinery. Most of all, it is more powerful to set receiver or source in the axis of X, Y, Z. so program user can make use of it easily. An average of difference is -0.9$\sim$1.8dB.

  • Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) is one of the most popular surgical procedure for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) occurring at the level of oropharynx. However, voice changes after UPPP have been a challenging issue for the professional voice users, because even minor changes in voice quality or articulation may be critical to professional singers, teachers, and so on. Several acoustic changes after UPPP have been proposed. However, based on the authors understanding, there is no report about voice changes after UPPP in Korean. We measured the first, second and third formant frequencies of /a/, /i/, /u/ phonations in 20 adult male patients who had undergone UPPP surgery, and the nasalances of Rabbit, Baby, and Mama passages. These parameters were measured preoperatively, at 1 month and 3 months after the operation. Any subjective voice changes were asked to be reported at the posto-perative visits. The third formant(F3) of /u/ phonation was significantly reduced at postoperative 1 month measurement. The nasalance of Mama passage was singnificantly increased at postoperative 3 months measurement. No one complained of subjective changes in voice quality, timbre, articulation or speech. Even though there are no complaints about postoperative voice changes subjectively, significant changes in the formant characteristics of certain vowel and changes in the nasality after UPPP require the clinicians to be mort cautious and careful in deciding UPPP for the professional voice users.

  • Poor speech intelligibility in an air traffic control room is frequently a result of many, quite different causes and occasionally leads to complaints of the controller personnel. The paper describes a sequence of successful tasks performed in a local control room. The initial measurements included an investigation of the background noise (caused by fans, air condition, computer and radar equipment) and performance checks of the electronic audio and communication equipment with respect to the audio transmission behavior. The spectral composition of the noise as well as the characteristics of the audio communication path between the controllers and the pilots(which showed a loss of spectral information in the audio band due to built-in notch filters for the suppression of control tones) required adaptations of the amplitude behavior of the amplifiers through user adjustable tone controls. The radar console fans, which contributed significantly to the overall noise floor of the room, underwent a substantial reconstruction by replacing the tight mounting with an elastic double suspension, reducing the noise level by 50%. Finally, a possible source of untimely fatigue of the controllers during their working hours has been found in strong spectral components of the noise above the audio band, radiated by numerous video monitors in the control through vibrating components excited by the line frequency of the video signal.

  • Net neutrality, which has not been a problem, has recently become a problem for ISPs (Internet Service Providers), and their complaints have been paid by domestic platform companies, but overseas global IT companies such as Google and YouTube, generate huge revenues from domestic markets. In this situation, domestic IT companies claim that it is natural to impose more expensive charges or restrict speed on users who generate huge traffic. On the other side, however, the telecommunication network has become an essential public good that is essential to our everyday life, and because it has been given a monopoly position by a private company to efficiently respond to the explosive demand for telecommunication services, It is necessary to provide equal and universal service and fulfill public duty. In this paper, we deal with the network neutrality problem, focusing on the price elasticity between the CP (Contents Provider) and the ISP, rather than the user who is one side of the two-sided market for the already saturated satellites communication market. We present a game model that determines the optimal price for each platform by Nash equilibrium and analyze how the net neutrality affects CP according to the change of exogenous variables through the proposed game model.
