The use of complementary and alternative medicine in children with common neurologic diseases

  • Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is a phrase used to describe additional health care methods such as mind/body practices and natural products not regarded as treatments by conventional medicine. The use of CAM in children with common neurologic diseases is more frequent than its use in healthy children (24%-78% vs. 12%). However, less than half of patients report such use to their physicians. The preferred modalities of CAM vary in different countries due to their different cultures and traditions. The most common factor significantly associated with the use of CAM is parental CAM use in most studies. The frequency of the use of CAM in children and adults with neurologic diseases is similar, and both rates are higher than the rates in those without these conditions. The preferred modalities of CAM in adults are diverse, and megavitamins and mind/body therapy (prayer and chiropractic care) are included. The most common factor significantly associated with the use of CAM in adults with neurologic diseases is high educational level. Physicians need to be concerned with patients' use of CAM and provide correct information about CAM so that patients may make the right decisions. Further study is needed to determine the evidence-based efficacy of CAM use in children with common neurologic diseases.

A Study on the Architectural Planning of Functional Mixed-use between School Buildings and Community Facilities (초등학교시설 복합화 유형 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study, as one of the specific suggestions to satisfy the social needs of life long education and to overcome the limitations of the supply of regional facilities, presents plans for the possibility of the mixed-use of educational facilities and regional facilities as the ultimate objective. By focusing on the space composition of the mixed-use facility to execute the roles of the educational establishment actively and efficiently, the purpose is to present the mixed-use methodology in architectural plan on which functions to combine and by how much, when the mixed-use plan of educational facilities. The investigation objects was the 27 elementary schools in Seoul which have undergone mixed-use of educational facilities work as at August, 2007. And each educational facility was classified mixed-use functions and analyzed for the composition form of functions and the characteristics by functions. And for mixed-use facility, form types were derived from the relationship with the school buildings through the analysis on characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of each types were presented by factor-by-factor plan directions of mixed-use facility.

  • Nowdays the most critical problem is global warming and the most important reason is the high emition of carbondioxide. 23% of the use of carbondioxide is used in building and decreasing the use of it is very important. One of the biggest factor that can decrease the use of energy is developing the heat conducting ratio of the materials we use in building. Heat conducting ratio is the important factor in the use of reducing energy comsumation. In this research, there are methods about how to measure the heat conducting ratio, and the existing the representing measuring method which is Heat Flow Meter HFM 436, Laser Flash Analysis and find out about the TCi of the new method C-Therm and compare the results.

Optimal Designs of Partially Accelerated Life Tests for Weibull Distributions (와이블 분포에서 부분가속수명시험의 최적설계)

  • This paper considers two modes of partially accelerated life tests for items having Weibull lifetime distributions. In a use-to-acclerated mode each item is first run at use condition and, if it does not fail for a specified time, then it is run at accelerated condition until a predetermined censoring time. In an accelerated-to-use mode each one is first run at accelerated condition and, if it does not fail for a specified time, then it is run at use condition. Maximum likelihood estimators of the parameters of the lifetime distribution at use condition, and the 'acceleration factor' are obtained. The stress change time for each mode is determined to minimize the asymptotic variance of the acceleration factor, and the two modes are compared. For selected values of the design parameters the optimum plans are obtained, and the effects of the incorrect pre-estimates of the design parameters are investigated. Minimizing the generalized asymptotic variance of the estimators of the model parameters is also considered as an optimality criterion.

  • In recent, T-commerce is widely dispersed as alternative type of commerce. It is forecasted that t-commerce system is used more than e-commerce system. Therefore more and more t-commerce-related industries are also recognizing that t-commerce is a critical business model. It is needed to understand the concept of t-commerce and develop the t-commerce marketing strategy. CEO analyses consumer's behaviors according to the data about buyers and applies the advantage of t-commerce to the communication with customers. This t-commerce system plays an important role in maximizing customer satisfaction and affecting their intention to reuse it. Therefore this paper attempts to identify T-commerce critical success factors and divide between use-intention group and unuse-intention group by taking out a discriminant function by the discriminant analysis. This lays a foundation in developing T-commerce strategy. According to the discriminant function extracted, convenience factor, amusement factor, system quality factor, product perception factor are significant in the sequence of influential degree. However, usefulness factor and speedy connection factor are not significant. In result, the target hitting rate is 77.9% in the first unuse-intention group and it is 95.2% in the second use-intention group. The total discriminant target hitting rate is computed to higher value, 86.55%. The statistic package, SPSS 12.0, is used to survey and analyse data and test the hypothesis. The validity and reliability of variables are verified by both reliability analysis and factor analysis. The discriminant analysis is used to tell the difference between use-intention group and unuse-intention group.

  • Cloud storage service has the potential to be a core infrastructure for the future mobile and Internet service; thus related service providers have been investing in it and trying to attract as many users as possible. In addition, those need to find out what motivates the users to keep using their service not only to attract new customers but also to secure their subscribers. Therefore, this study will examine its relationship with user's motivation based on the extended TAM model with external variables for objective research about continuous use of cloud storage service. As a result, it was found that personal innovativeness, self efficacy, functional attributes, and psychological switching cost influence the continuous use of cloud storage service. Also, it is expected they can guide service providers to the right track when setting up their business strategy in the future.

A Study on the Intention of Continuous Usage of O2O Service: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of User Innovation (O2O 서비스의 지속이용의도에 관한 연구 : 이용자 혁신성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose Today, the increasing of internet use and the expansion of internet range provide us with many opportunities. Therefore, this study examine relation of perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk, perceived usefulness based on previous studies. And we examine the effect of O2O service satisfaction on continuous use intention. Also, we studied the relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk, perceived usefulness according to user innovation. Design/Methodology A Structural Equation Model(SEM) method was used to test the theoretical framework based on a sample of 451 respondents who have experienced the O2O service. Factor analysis and confirmation factor analysis was conducted to check the reliability, convergency validity and discriminant validity. To test moderating effect of the user innovation, multi group analysis was conducted. Findings First, perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk have significant effects on perceived usefulness. Second, perceived usefulness of O2O service have a positive effect on satisfaction. Third, satisfaction of O2O service have a positive effect on continuous use intention. The relationship that perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, perceived risk affect perceived usefulness is differ depending on user innovation. Based on these findings, this study suggested to marketing practitioners the need for different approach by a user innovation.

Intention to Use Digital Banking Services of Young Retail Customers in Vietnam

  • The object of this article is to assess the factors affecting the behavioral intention of young retail customers to use digital banking services in Vietnam. In this article, multivariate data analysis techniques including Cronbach's Alpha, Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Structure equation model (SEM), and Bootstrapping are used to analyze the data collected from 525 young respondents under the age of 35 who are using or having opportunities to experience digital banking services. The people taking part in the survey were mainly University students with incomes of most of them under VND 5 million. The result from the analysis illustrates that (1) perceived ease of use positively affects intention to use, (2) social influence positively impacts intention to use, and (3) customer support has a positive impact on the intention of young people to use digital banking services. While technology self-efficacy, convenience, and perceived security were found to have an impact on intention to use services in former studies, the influences of these factors on intention to use digital banking services are found insignificant in this research. From these results, the author provides implications for commercial banks to increase the intention to use digital banking of young people in Vietnam.

Study on the difference in the Social Commerce use of Korea and China Consumer: Consider factor, shopping value, purchase satisfaction and intention to revisit (한국과 중국소비자들의 소셜커머스 이용에 따른 차이 연구: 고려요인, 쇼핑가치, 구매만족과 재방문의도를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify differences between Korean and Chinese consumers in consideration, shopping value, the extent of purchase satisfaction and intent to revisit the site when people use social commerce. When Korean and Chinese consumers use social commerce, it was confirmed that they look at four things; economical efficiency, practical, informativeness, and convenience. There are the following results. Firstly, it was found that in the case of using social commerce, economical efficiency as a factor of consideration was higher in Chinese consumers than Korean consumers. Secondly, practical of social commerce concerns the social commerce site's trustworthiness and stability, and also the popularity of the site and ease in which users can use the site. In this, this factor is more important to Chinese consumers than Korean consumers. Thirdly, in the factors of informativeness, which means product information and quality, and buyers comments, there was no confirmed difference between Korean and Chinese consumers. Fourth, in the convenience factor, there was a difference found between Korean and Chinese consumers.
