Usage of Beauty Contents in a Multi-Channel Environment: A Niche Analysis of Webzines, Televisions and Online Video Platforms (다매체 환경에서의 뷰티 콘텐츠 이용: 웹진, TV, 인터넷 동영상 플랫폼 간 적소분석)

  • This study aimed to investigate the competing relationships among webzines, TVs and online video platforms in terms of usage gratification of consumption of beauty contents based on niche theory. Five types of usage gratification including information, entertainment, attractive characters, convenient usage and honesty were identified from the previous literature and they were used for niche analysis. The findings showed that online video platforms had the wider breadth than webzines and TVs in all dimensions of usage gratification except for attractive character and TVs and online video platforms had the least niche overlap. The results also revealed that online video platforms had the competitive superiority over the other media in terms of convenient usage and honesty. This study has meanings in a way that it can be used as guidelines for how the future consumption patterns of beauty contents will be.

Analysis of the Impact Factors on the Usage Satisfaction of Mobile WiMAX Femtocell Service (와이브로 펨토셀 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향 요인 분석)

  • It is the background that the provision of the mobile WiMAX femtocell trial service of a leading mobile telecommunication service operator using small base stations for indoor mobile broadband services and coverage expansion through eliminations of shadow areas in this paper. The paper presents an analysis result of trial subscribers' usage satisfaction for the mobile WiMAX femtocell service and suggests a market approach strategy of a mobile WiMAX femtocell service based on the analysis result. The interesting influence factors are extracted from wide influence factors suggested by existing research literature related with mobile service usage satisfaction and confined to a system quality, a service quality, and an account structure with consideration for attributes of mobile WiMAX femtocell service under exploring its early stages of service market. And then we analyze impacts of the factors to the mobile WiMAX femtocell service usage satisfaction. As a result, a system quality and an account structure have a tendency to provide considerable impacts to subscribers' usage satisfaction for mobile WiMAX femtocell service which is immature in both its technology and market. Therefore a market approach with the preferential consideration of the two factors will be valid.

Structural Analysis of Scientific Information Usage (해사관계 연구자의 문헌정보 이용에 관한 구조분석)

  • Nowadays researchers attach a great importance to the problems concerned with scientific information in the field of science and engineering. There are some reasons for it, that is, ⅰ) the amount of scientific information increases in proportion to the activities of scientists and engineers, so it is difficult to pick up a real valuable information ⅱ) it becomes more important to use a variety of information in proportion to the spread ofthe branch of science ⅲ) since the medium of scientific information is mostly technical papers, it is very difficult to mechanically transact these papers and to keep all documents and scientific informations for a long time. To cope with these difficult situations, many technical skills have been developed, for example, data-base, automatic information retrieval, micro-film and so on. But there are comparatively few investigation on the matter how the researchers who are users and producers think about the systematization of scientific information usage, so this paper investigates the thought and information needs of researchers, and proposes a basis of a method for systematization of scientific information usage. The author inspects the actual conditions of scientific information, reconsider the method which has been used and investigates the matter of how researchers whose interest is closely related to the study of marine affairs think about problems of scientific information usage by thequestionarie of Fuzzy-DEMATEL method. Also, FSM which is method for structuring hierarchy for the several complex problems on the basis of fuzzy sets theory is adopted as a tool of analysis. We can understand the key problems and make a story to solve the systematization of scientific information usage from the results of the analysis and those results will be directly applicable to construct a new system for scientific information usage.

Tourists' Excursion Behavior Analysis Considering Their Information Usage (관광객의 정보이용이 관광주유행동에 미치는 영향분석)

  • The objective of this paper is to develop a structural equations model system for the purpose of tourists' excursion behaviour analysis with their information usage. A tourist' excursion behavior defined as activities in the sightseeing region between arriving and leaving time includes indexes with respect to activity' time use and the number of spots. Additionally, such indexes can be modeled as endogenous variables in the structural equation model system on the assumption that they are influenced by the degree of familarity on the sightseeing region, the degree of information usage, and individual attributes. The case study application involves excursion behaviour data such as one-day excursion activity and information usage diary that are observed in the Fuji Five Lakes, Japan. Since the models presented in the paper are available to statistically analyze the covariance among the endogenous variables, they have the advantage of effectiveness analysis on information usage in the excursion area, compared to the prior approaches such as discrete choice models.

Estimation for Economic Scale of Radioactive Usage in Korea using Input-Output Table 2005 (2005년 산업연관표를 이용한 우리나라의 방사선 이용의 경제규모에 대한 추정 연구)

  • In this paper, author estimated economic scale of radiation usage in Korea using Input-Output table 2005 and other micro data published. This estimation focused all kind of radiation usage in whole economic activity. Estimation of economic scale is quantitative analysis for how much radiation usage increase productivity and welfare. Economic scale estimation of radiation usage in Korea 2005 is 6,297 Billion Won and it occupies 0.74% of GDP. It is smaller level compared with that of US and Japan. It is 1.5% of GDP in US (1997) and 1.2% of GDP in Japan (2005). Radiation usage in industrial sector is 5,775 Billion Won and it is 0.68% of GDP. Radiation usage in agriculture sector is 171 Billion Won and it is 0.02% of GDP. Radiation usage in medical sector is 351 Billion Won and it is 0.04% of GDP. This implied that radiation usage in industrial sector is larger than other sector. Use of medical radiology may be enlarge in the future due to population structure. The result that radiation usage occupied 0.74% of GDP arouse contribution of radiation usage in daily life. It helps people to have more understanding and public acceptance for radiation.

The Perception of Problem of Internet Usage and Willingness of Internet Education among Adolescents on Jeju Island (청소년의 인터넷 이용에 따른 문제점 인식과 인터넷교육 의사에 관한 연구 -제주지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of problem of internet usage and the willingness to receive internet education among adolescents on Jeju Island, who are core internet users, and the related variables. The survey was administered to 566 students from elementary and middle schools on Jeju. The data were analyzed by T-test, ANOVA analysis, DMR test and logistic regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the adolescents perceived the conflict with family due to the problem of internet usage. Taken as a whole, the perception of a problem due to internet usage was low. Second, the internet-related variables were very important to the perception level of the problem in that there was a significant difference in all sub-spheres according to the internet usage time. Also, the personal-related variables such as gender, age, and personal expenses had a meaningful difference on the perception level of problem. Third, adolescents' willingness to receive internet education was considerably high. The personal-related variables such as gender and school record had a meaningful influence on the willingness of the internet education.

A Cost-Effectiveness Analysis on the Usage of Foreign Scientific and Technical Journals (과학기술분야 해외 학술지의 비용대 효과 분석)

  • This paper describes the results of a cost-effectiveness analysis on the usage of foreign scientific and technical journals. In this study, the measure of cost-effectiveness chosen is the Cost Per Use(CPU) of a journal article. The photocopy usage data and annual subscription costs of journals subscribed by Korea Institute of Science & Technology Information were used. The results of this study illustrate that distribution of subscription cost and photocopy usage, Cost Per Use(CPU) of each journal, CPU of each subject field, etc. 80 percent of the demand for the journal was met by 40 percent of total subscription cost. A relationship was found between subscription cost and photocopy usage, however, no relationship was found between subscription cost and CPU.

Effects of usage motivation for omni-channel services on continuance and affective commitment and brand purchase intention (옴니채널 서비스 이용 동기가 지속적 몰입과 정서적 몰입 및 브랜드 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined motivation to use omni-channel services on mobile devices in fashion stores and the effects of such usage motivation on brand purchase intention through continuous and affective commitment. Data were collected on consumers in their 20s and 30s who experienced omni-channel services during shopping for or purchasing fashion products. An online survey asked 413 consumers to rate their brand purchase intention. Sub-levels of each variable were examined using SPSS 25.0, followed by confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS 19.0. In addition, path analysis using structural equation modeling was applied to analyze associations between variables. The statistical results were mixed. First, only two dimensions of usage motivation for omni-channel services, hedonic and relational motivation, had positive effects on continuous and affective commitment. Second, continuous commitment had a greater effect on purchase intention of brands that provided omni-channel services than it did on affective commitment. Third, of the dimensions of usage motivation, utilitarian motivation had a direct influence on purchase intention in the modified model, while social motivation did not affect service commitment and purchase intention. Finally, our findings suggest that brand loyalty can be built by encouraging service commitments through hedonic and relational motivation, based on the usability of omni-channel services.

Study on SNS usage motivations affecting user satisfaction - Focused on facebook users - (사용자 만족에 영향을 미치는 SNS 이용 동기에 관한 연구 - 페이스북 사용자를 중심으로 -)

  • The technological advances within the Internet industry have led to a revolution in terms of how people communicate with each other. For example, users are no longer limited to using face to face interactions to connect and communicate with their peers but can use email, instant messaging and more. A recent trend that researchers are observing is the adaption of SNS. SNS such as facebook and myspace has been a dominant global trend and has grown dramatically in the past 5 years. The purpose of this study was to test SNS usage motivations influencing the user satisfaction. The research model was developed based on literature review. SNS usage motivations consist of five factors: expression, relationship formation, social exchange, information seeking, trend. 189 questionnaires were used for the main part of regression analysis. The analysis results revealed that relationship formation, social exchange and information seeking were very significant factors influencing the user satisfaction. Especially, social exchange was the most significant factor. We can prospect that importance of user satisfaction on SNS usage motivations is more and more increasing in the future.

The pattern of coding sequences in the chloroplast genome of Atropa belladonna and a comparative analysis with other related genomes in the nightshade family

  • Atropa belladonna is a valuable medicinal plant and a commercial source of tropane alkaloids, which are frequently utilized in therapeutic practice. In this study, bioinformatic methodologies were used to examine the pattern of coding sequences and the factors that might influence codon usage bias in the chloroplast genome of Atropa belladonna and other nightshade genomes. The chloroplast engineering being a promising field in modern biotechnology, the characterization of chloroplast genome is very important. The results revealed that the chloroplast genomes of Nicotiana tabacum, Solanum lycopersicum, Capsicum frutescens, Datura stramonium, Lyciumbarbarum, Solanum melongena, and Solanum tuberosum exhibited comparable codon usage patterns. In these chloroplast genomes, we observed a weak codon usage bias. According to the correspondence analysis, the genesis of the codon use bias in these chloroplast genes might be explained by natural selection, directed mutational pressure, and other factors. GC12 and GC3S were shown to have no meaningful relationship. Further research revealed that natural selection primarily shaped the codon usage in A. belladonna and other nightshade genomes for translational efficiency. The sequencing properties of these chloroplast genomes were also investigated by investing the occurrences of palindromes and inverted repeats, which would be useful for future research on medicinal plants.
