Construction safety education will continue to attract the interests of construction educators, researchers, and industry professionals due to its immense influence on accident reduction and prevention. A well-educated workforce with a thorough understanding of safety requirements and procedures is needed to develop and apply effective safety and health programs as well as devise strategic means of preventing injuries, illnesses, and fatalities on construction projects. The objective of this research is to evaluate construction safety education in the curriculum of construction programs in the United States. An analysis of construction safety courses across accredited construction programs in the U.S. is conducted to synthesize important details and common themes. A nationwide characterization of the safety courses presented followed by an assessment selected a few programs as a pilot study. Critical elements of the courses such as course titles, course year, credit hours, topics covered, and alignment with professional certification or outreach training courses are characterized. Findings from the study reveal the similarities and variations that exist among safety courses taught in different construction programs in the U.S. These findings could result from several influencing factors, which could be the subject of further investigations geared toward improving safety education in construction programs.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of "resident participatory education programs". This study methods was that applied this education programs to the residents of the fishing village after develop of education programs, and was surveyed to ninety five residents of these. As a result of the survey, "community attachment" and "sense of community" showed statistically significant differences from consciousness before and after education. Also, difference of residents consciousness according to the presence or absence of an education showed the same trend too. And, If in the presence or absence of the educational experience, residents consciousness was improved after the education programs. In other words, an education programs applied to in this study can be said to effective to that raise awareness of the residents. And this can be said to contribute in empowerment too.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze how couples relationship education (CRE) programs in Korean scholarly journals have been developed since they first appeared in 1994. Method: We selected articles that were published in journals related to human ecology and that included information about how the authors developed CRE programs (premarital education, marriage education). Using coding schemes based on the theoretical frameworks of CRE, we quantitatively coded programs in four specific areas: (a) overall characteristics, (b) program planning, (c) program construction and implementation, and (d) program evaluation. Results: Although CRE programs have increased and evolved since the 1990s, the literature has been limited on testing long-term program efficacy, developing dissemination plans, and applying theories to program design. In terms of program participants and content, most programs had similar themes despite their differences in the target audience. We also found that few programs have been provided for diverse couples. As for evaluation, pre- and post-testing was the most common method of efficacy test. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that family researchers and practitioners develop more elaborate and systematic programs to advance CRE in Korea as a core topic of family life education and to provide evidence-informed practice.

The purpose of this study was to investigate what effect providing the hospice care team with hospice education programs had on the death orientation. The subjects of study were 28 volunteers. 14 nurses. 30 clergies who registered on hospice education programs from Aug. 6th. 1996 to May 20th. 1997. The data were analysed by descriptive analysis. ANOVA. Duncan test. paired t-test. The results of the study can be summarized as follows ; 1. The degrees of death orientation were 85.70 in volunteers group. 84.31 in nurses group. and 73.00 in clergies group. So. clergies group has more positive death orientation than others(F=6.33. p=. 000). The degree of death orientation showed significant differences between age groups(F=5.78. p =.002). and religiosity(t=3.92. p=.000). There were no significant differences between the degree of death orientation and the others general characteristics of subjects. 2. The mean of death orientation was 80.04 before hospice education programs. but was 75.56 after hospice education programs(t= 3.92. p= .000). In conclusion. the subjects who received the hospice education programs showed the positive change in the degree of the death orientation. Therefore. it has been judged that education programs has been prerequisite in positive death orientation for hospice care. Furthermore. all of the hospice care members those who complete the hospice education program. will be performed efficient hospice care intervention for dying patients and their families.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the conditions and problems of anti-smoking education programs in government office for civil servants. A mail-in survey was carried out for the chief of the general affairs of 248 government offices. 1. There were 154 responses to the surveys. Only 34 governmental offices have carried out anti-smoking education programs for civil servants. 2. Only one office has a department to supervise and anti-smoking program. 17 offices have 1 worker and thirteen offices have no manpower to supervise anti-smoking program. 3. Only eight offices have budgeted for anti-smoking programs. The average budget was 3,750,000 Won. Expected budget for smoking cessation program was 7,500,000 Won. 4. 25 offices have an anti-smoking lecture program for civil servants. Only five offices have an anti-smoking counseling for smokers. 5. Only seven surveys responded that civil servants had a positive response to anti-smoking programs. 6. The most important problem of anti-smoking programs in governmental offices was the lack of concern of civil servants. Governmental offices have to provide the greatest administrative services and services concerning the quality of life for citizens. Anti-smoking education programs in governmental offices for civil servants was the beginning of an activity of the services concerning the quality of life for citizens. Governmental offices have to actively implement anti-smoking programs for civil servants.

The purpose of this study is to develop the education programs for the archival librarian in Korea. The importance of archival work requires that archivists should receive an archival education at university. But there is no professional education programs in Korea. The interdisciplinary character of archival studies programs make it possible to place them in a variety of setting, such as a department of library and information science, department of history. Currently, archival education must assume a much more prominent role within the library and information science. Library and information science educators, increasingly concerned with their own survival, seek rational ways to diversify their area. They are looking at mergers with allied fields. Archival education programs will find a welcome home in a number of existing department of library and information science. Archival education programs could be provided according to three categories undergraduate coursework, master of archival studies, and continuing education programs. The body of knowledge that a student should master as part of an archival education program is classified here as basic knowledge of archival studies, specified knowledge of archives and records, practical knowledge of archives and records management, and complementary and contextual knowledge of archival studies.

The purpose of this study was to emphasize the household financial education as a part of family life education, especially when provided at local community level; it also examines diverse measures by which to deliver such education. To this end, the current study focuses on the education programs of a healthy family support center, which has been established as a representative transmission system. The current status of its operations was examined, and practical measures by which to stimulate the delivery of financial education within that center were derived. In more detail, previous studies inside and outside of Korea were examined, and the current status of financial education included in the area of family life education was assessed; as a result of these assessments, the definition and objectives of financial education as family life education were adjusted. The limits of financial education that has been delivered thus far were reviewed, with the aim of proposing measures by which to sufficiently stimulate the delivery of financial education programs-programs that ultimately reflect the healthy family philosophy. This study proposes four specific measures by which to stimulate financial education. The first is the application of 'life cycle perspectives' to educational terms. The second is the activation of financial education programs that involve the family unit as educational subjects. Third, the delivery of lectures which related to the financing and nurturing of program coordinators was proposed. The fourth is drawing a connection between online and offline education in terms of effectively applying teaching methods. Ultimately, the results of this study can be used as basic data to inform the planning, development, and operational stages of financial education programs within family life education, which can be performed in healthy family support centers in the future.

As our whole society has become increasingly aware of safety and emphasizes the importance of preventing safety accidents, the airline cabin service sector is also facing a strong demand to improve practical system for aviation safety education. In this regard, the development of appropriate safety education programs and the getting of human resources who can develop and operate such programs are becoming key issues. This study aims to provide academic and practical implications for safety education and training in airline cabins by reconfirming the importance and direction of safety education in the context of airline cabin services, and by specifying and establishing qualification requirements for personnel who develop and operate such safety programs. To this end, we review the content that should be included in safety training programs, the qualifications required of developers, managers, instructors, and examiners who develop or operate such programs, and how safety training programs can be continually improved as relevant conditions change in the future. In addition, we have also suggested ways to train appropriate managers, instructors, and examiners, including improving the compensation system for them, and how to effectively manage trainees. In order to secure a higher level of aviation safety in the future, it will be necessary to continue research on the development of more diverse and high-quality aviation safety education programs and the training of related personnel.

In both Korea and the U.S., science education leaders and specialists insist that there is a shortage of curricula to address the new national science education guidelines in support of reform. This paper addresses development of new curricula for science education reform in the hopes of facilitating further development of guideline-based curricula. We examine Korean and U.S. thematic-based (Korean Science Field Trip at Cultural Sites Program and U.S. Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education) and project-centered (Korean Teachers for Exciting Science and U.S. Foundational Approaches in Science Teaching Program) programs. Using the criteria of rationale for curriculum, content and scope, processes of implementation, and assessment strategies, we identify the curricular components that are common across four successful secondary science programs and determine which of these components address the national guidelines. Our findings indicate that common components of these four programs meet the expectations of the science guidelines being used to revamp science education in both countries. Therefore, these programs not only engage secondary students and teachers in practicing successful science education, but also lead to successful science education practices that can be incorporated in the future development of curriculum to support secondary science reform.

Purpose: This paper was intended to identify various kinds of specialized in-service educational programs in the hospital. Method: The data was collected from June to July, 2006. The subjects were 67 general hospitals in Korea. Result: Specialized in-service educational programs were present at 36 general hospitals. Thirty-three programs were operating in the field of intensive care nursing. The purposes of specialized in-service education programs were to improve the quality of nursing care. Conclusion: Since the clinical nurse specialist was legally established in 2005 in Korea, various kinds of specialized in-service education programs for nurses are needed under the organized framework of the career development system.
